My absolute favorite winery. The wines here are simply fabulous. The winery itself is on a beautiful spot just below the mountains. Their barrel room is great for larger groups and the staff is very knowledgable and helpful.

I just got back from Napa after celebrating my 40th! I was so impressed with Maria from Chimney Rock winery. She welcomed my party of 5 with enthusiasm which I truly appreciated after being blown off at a few previous wineries. We tasted Chimney Rock's amazing wines especially the cab! Maria was knowledgable about the Stag's Leap vineyards, terrior and the awesome story about the location being a previous golf course. She was so patient with my group of loud excited friends and entertained us for at least 2 hours. A special THANKS to Maria for a wonderful experience. We just received our wine club case in the mail and enjoyed a bottle of the Stags Leap cab last night. I highly recommend making an appointment for a wine tasting at this special winery.

Live near the area and have been to Napa a few times. Unfortunately our experience today was one of the worst in the valley. First, our hostess Nicole sat us down for our wines and pretty much left us for the rest of the time. We didn t get any history on the winery, and no information on the wines we were drinking even when asked. We asked to try the Cabernet Franc and was forgotten, she didn t say if she had it or not. Other tables surrounding us were offered to try other wines already opened but our table was again ignored and weren t offered any. All in all we felt ignored and underwhelmed.

Tasting is expensive for what it is and the wines were only ok, not deserving of their price. Way better value can be found at other wineries in and around Napa.

2 stars because the wine is good and estate grown; downgraded because this what Napa has devolved to somewhat:. a tourist clip joint with $50 tasting fees; so 2 of you go, your "personal wine educator" wiil focus on you to purchase and join the wine club and you need to purchase $300 in wine or join the club to avoid the 2 x $50 fee

I felt like we were an inconvenience to them here. Although their wines were nice, I def felt like they were talking down to us. As the sister winery to Rutherford Hill Winery, we were hoping the experience would be as nice and pleasant as it was there. Unfortunately it was not and was the complete opposite. If you were a member you could sit out in their garden area. There was no place to enjoy a glass of wine and you couldn't bring food in nor did they offer any food for purchase. We were treated with respect and kindness at every other winery we went to.

The landscaping alone takes your breath away, but then you are greeted warmly with a pleasant "Welcome to Chimney Rock" & you know you're in for a wonderful experience.
The wines are lovely & the staff are friendly.

Fantastic tasting, knowledgeable wine educators, and beautiful property. Wines were well curated, and similar vintages were poured together to illustrate differences. We had Craig as our wine educator, and he was both knowledgeable and welcoming/flexible to our tastes and timeline

Chimney Rock has very lovely, simple landscaping in front of building (beautiful flowers). The wines here, while decent, left me unimpressed (keep in mind, I am not wine critic by any stretch of the imagination, just my opinion). Staff was easy going, but the crowd was very quiet (a little too quiet) and not much else was happening. One note, there are several different flights to choose from.

We just returned from Napa and visited 13 vineyards during our 3 full days there (2 were full tours). This was our last stop of the day - the staff made the tasting a truly enjoyable conclusion to our travel down the Silverado Trail. home to some of the most elegant Cabernet Sauvignon produced on American soil.

We sampled several top-rated wines in this charming tasting room and strolled outside to take in the view of their vineyard.

The 119-acre vineyards surround some of Silverado Trail s most striking architecture. The Cape Dutch-style winery buildings, modeled after wineries in South Africa, gleam with whitewashed walls, high roofs, and curved gables. The dramatic Palisades, a cluster of jagged basalt formations high on Atlas Ridge, form the backdrop for the graceful stucco structures.

Last year was my husbands first visit to Napa. Out of all the wineries we visited, he chose Chimney Rock to join their wine club. We live in Ohio, so this past week was our first time back since joining the club. We obviously aren't taking advantage of the many options for wine club members that are local. Upon entering, we stated we were members and the hostess handed us the first tasting and proceeded to ignore us the rest of the time we were there and they weren't even busy. We were so irritated, we left without asking for anything else and will be cancelling our wine club membership. You would think with the money we spent with them over the past year, you would be treated better. Unbelievable.

Really enjoyed the wine at Chimney Rock. There is a tasting fee here. We ended up buying a few bottles of the wine. Had a very nice experience and will continue to visit this winery and drink their wines. They have a wine club program that you can join if you are interested. Ask anyone in the wine room for details.

Our visit to Chimney Rock was the high point of our Napa tour -- Zach was an exceptional host, and walked us through the history of the vineyard, as well as his own long history in the Valley -- and why Chimney Rock is a special winemaker. The tasting patio below the Cape Dutch-style main house is a perfect place to sample the fine wines on offer. Chimney Rock wines are not the most affordable, but we judged their quality to easily justify their price--we look forward to our next visit!

We visited the day before Christmas and were the only people there so we had more of a private wine tasting experience. The tasting is relatively expensive but the wines are first class and enough to serious impress cab fans.

Friendly staff, generous pours, great wine, cute outdoor area. Even let us split the tasting into three glasses for three people so we could drive afterwards. Also, check out the event space - such a cool room!

Loved the wines but staff in tasting room was extremely unprofessional. We were wine club members for nearly 10 Year. On our last experience we cancelled our membership and will stop drinking their wine.
The good news was we did find a new winery to replace Chimney Rock. Elizabeth Spencer is the winery and have both great wines as well as professional staff.

Excellent wines and friendly employees. I was a guest of a wine club member so we tasted wine in the reserve room. The conversations were fun and lively and the wine pours were generous.

We met some friendly members who were also tasting wine too....it was like a party atmosphere and a lot of fun!

About Chimney Rock Winery

Chimney Rock Winery is a renowned winery located in the heart of Stags Leap District, Napa Valley. The winery is known for its handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon, which has won numerous awards and accolades over the years. Chimney Rock Winery was founded in 1980 by Hack and Stella Wilson, who were passionate about creating world-class wines that would stand the test of time.

The winery's location in Stags Leap District is ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The district's unique terroir, with its volcanic soils and warm climate, produces grapes with intense flavors and aromas. Chimney Rock Winery takes full advantage of this terroir to create wines that are rich, complex, and balanced.

Chimney Rock Winery's commitment to quality begins in the vineyard. The winemakers work closely with the vineyard team to ensure that only the best grapes are used for their wines. They use sustainable farming practices to protect the environment while producing high-quality grapes.

Once harvested, the grapes are carefully sorted and fermented using traditional techniques. The winemakers use a combination of new oak barrels and older barrels to age their wines, allowing them to develop complexity without overpowering the fruit flavors.

Chimney Rock Winery offers several different Cabernet Sauvignon wines, each with its own unique character. Their flagship wine is their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, which represents the best of what Stags Leap District has to offer. This wine is rich and full-bodied with flavors of blackberry jam, cassis, vanilla bean, and dark chocolate.

In addition to their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Chimney Rock Winery also produces a variety of other red wines including Merlot and Syrah as well as white wine such as Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc . They also offer tasting experiences at their beautiful estate where visitors can sample some of their award-winning wines while enjoying stunning views of Napa Valley.

Overall Chimney Rock Winery stands out from other wineries due to its commitment towards quality production methods along with sustainable farming practices which makes it an ideal destination for wine lovers who appreciate fine craftsmanship along with environmental responsibility
