Such a valuable resource. Great place to take courses like CPR/First Aid as well as a variety of offerings for parents and care givers. Children s Council offers moms groups and play groups in a warm, friendly, safe environment. You can check out books and even developmentally appropriate toys from their lending library.
This organization SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I supposedly had Childrens Council since August of 2013. My childcare provider as of now 6/2/2014 has not received 1 payment. She was fingerprinted 3 times they supposedly lost them 3 times . Time sensitive correspondence sat on the secretaries desk for 2 weeks until my provider went back down there to see what the problem was and low and behold there it was still on her desk not given to the correct person at all. My worker was rude he made me feel as if he was my kids father and was irate to have to pay childcare (go figure) (why the hostility ?). This organization is primarily funded through the state and federal gov. Where are the funds at ? I think this organization should be audited and find out exactly where these funds are and if they are being misappropriated. No one can tell me what is going on. I have not spoken to my so-called worker since I took it upon myself to go to the Church St. location . My next call will be to 7 on your side and Gov.Browns office. So if any "SUPERVISOR" is reading this I strongly suggest you get your department back on track. I have had to remove both of my children from their daycare :( SO SAD!!!! this organization is supposed support parents reentering the work force (WHAT A CROCK)!!! this organization is manned by a bunch of lazy receptionists and well I cant speak for everyone but my "WORKER" needs a new job.
