We started with cocktails and the Foie de Volaille, which were remarkable all around! The cuisine was remarkable!

My wife had the Moules Dijonnaise, cooked exquisitely with a wonderful flavor unlike those we have enjoyed in Belgium, New Brunswick, or elsewhere. Speaking of Belgium... the house mayonnaise took us back to Frites Atelier (though the Frites were not quite the same).

I had the Gnocchi... words cannot describe these truffle-laced pillows.

The Paris-Brest was astounding! Enough said.

After 10 months we came back to this very French cozy restaurant. Once again we enjoyed this delightful experience. Debera, our attentive server, kept us well taken care of throughout the evening. Three of us ordered the delicious Lamb Shank special but I think the "Joue de Boeuf" was exceptional. This hearty plump steak cut like butter. I will remember the scrumptious flavor of the delectable dish for a long time to come. Thanks Chef Brendan??? & fellow cooks there at Chez Billy Sud. We highly recommend Chez Billy!

The best restaurant in dc as far as I m concerned; charming, cozy, delicious food and fantastic service. This place never disappoints. I cannot say enough good things about Chez Billy! My go to spot for special occasions, or just a fabulous meal.

I enjoyed a dinner here last night with my family. The atmosphere on the patio and service was good, but the food wasn't worth the money they were charging. I eat out frequently so I know how food is supposed to taste. The steak frites were dry and although sauce is served on the side, the steak had no seasoning and was bland. The fries seemed to be reheated from a bag of frozen fries. The water at the table was warm. There is no desert menu. There is a mandatory COVID tax which I'm not sure was for and the gratuity is fixed. I don't think this place is worth the money and was disappointed with my overall experience.

Decent food. Terrible service overall. We arrived early with reservation but were seated at a dark and cold conner with some 29 F wind blowing to my face when the door opens. We asked politely if we could move to another table in the same dark area, not even to a brighter place inside, and they simply rejected us without reasons -- totally ruined our mood especially when we finished our dinner with plenty of empty tables just sitting there looking at us. No one asked about how we were doing with the food until they started clearing the table. A shockingly unfriendly place, or maybe that was just discrimination against Asians. Either case, will never come back.

I had a very good meal. Reasonably, not inexpensively, priced. Service good without being obnoxious. I had their gazpacho followed by a tuna entree. My companion had trout. She has substantial dietary restrictions, they were very accommodating. I will return.

This restaurant is a great find! Tucked away a couple blocks off of M Street the environment around the restaurant is much less touristy and the restaurant feels much more cozy.

The food was phenomenal, especially the escargot (which is a must have). Servers were attentive and the food came out at just the right pace. Not to mention they make one of the best Caesar salads I ve had. Highly recommend this place.

I received excellent service from my waitress. However, I was not impressed with the food here. I ordered Sauteed Trout called Truite Grenobloise, and it was too greasy. The piece of trout was almost half soaked in a plate full of oil and butter. Weird dish.

Always a great meal here. So reliable that the food is great, the wine list is pretty decent and the service is always on point. Happy to be able to go back time and time again for a quality meal

This small restaurant is spectacular. The atmosphere is authentic, the food is delicious and the decor whisks you away to France. Definitely my new favorite spot in Georgetown, I'll be recommending this to friends for a while to come.

Wow this place is great! We ate in the wine bar, and we really want to go back to eat on the patio. Great wine selection, awesome bread, great sea bass and salmon that were cooked perfectly and the portion was perfect, not too much food and not too little.

Definitely go, grab a drink. Next time, I m getting the steak frites - the couple next to us spilt that and an app and it looked GREAT.

I went yesterday night for the first time and it was very nice. I booked a table for 2 people at 9pm. I arrived a little bit early so they proposed me to wait at the wine bar. It was very cosy and classy and the service was top. They also have a good selection of wine. For diner I had the magret de canard. It was delicious. Highly recommended.

Best and biggest steak and fries I ve ever had came with my boyfriend last night as a recommendation from one of his work colleagues and it didn t let us down. The tomato salad was delicious, the cocktails also were great. I asked for a pisco sour which they didn t have but the barman made me something similar and dare I say it was better than a pisco? Loved the atmosphere too, very romantic! Would come back again for sure

I had a wonderful birthday weekend in Georgetown and wanted to have a quiet Sunday brunch alone before I checked out of my hotel Sunday. Open Table asks if it is a special occasion so since Sunday was my actual birthday, I noted it on Open Table even though I was just grabbing brunch alone. I am glad I did. Everyone really went out of their way with special touches such as a glass of champagne and a dessert wine. My waitress was excellent helping me with suggestions. I had the best ceasar salad, fries and mussels ever. I couldn't eat everything but have zero regrets in ordering because it was all pure perfection. I ended with a light cheesecake type of desert with lemon curd and rasberry sorbet. It was incredible. I have already texted my friends telling them we must come here together! A perfect ending to my birthday werkend.

We came for brunch when some other plans fell through and we're so happy we did! The place is cute on the inside but the patio is so lovely on a nice day. The food was fairly priced especially for Georgetown and we both agreed the bloody Mary was excellent. The croque madame and the mussels were prepared perfectly and we couldn't get enough of the fries. Our server was friendly and attentive. We agreed we will definitely be coming back for more. Oh and definitely order the beignets! So delicious, hot, and cooked perfectly.

Great French Cuisine with super friendly and competent Service. Cannot understand how people could order the Burger (even it might be good as well) when you could actually have real phantastic French food! Have been there multiple tines now. Try the wine bar as well. Cozy place with great wines!

You re seen as a cash machine hence in case that like us you re seen as a small opportunity, you re immediately forgotten. Differently from many other customers we didn t buy any wine, because of this we immediately became class b customers. All nearby tables were pampered , but mainly to keep pouring wine so that you could order more. I had mussels, moules a la dijoinnaise, which were good, while my wife had a salad, which was ok. Pricey place were nothing is genuine, still rated 2 stars as food was ok.

Went at the suggestion of a friend who was in town as I rarely partake of DC entertainment any more: too many nice places in Northern Virginia, with much better parking.
That being said, we had a wonderful time Chez Billy, with truly outstanding food, cheerful, responsive staff and a pleasant decor. Prices were very reasonable for this type of restaurant. Even the parking wasn't too dire!

The wine bar is a cozy and charming spot to try a variety of wine and champagne, have a great beer or cocktail, and escape from the outside bustle. The staff are very friendly and in winter, snag a seat by the fireplace.

We enjoyed an all around fantastic meal. The decor is tastefully French (with a gorgeous terrace in the evening). The service was excellent all around and our meal was simply delicious. We showed up on a Friday night at 7pm without a reservation and they accommodated us so well and kindly even though it was clearly a full house. The Caesar salad, tuna and salmon dishes were perfectly prepared. Would definitely go again the next time in DC (and leave room for dessert this time).

Restaurant is adorable - I was searching for a quaint, authentic, intimate French spot in DC (somewhat difficult for a bustling metropolis) and stumbled upon Chez Billy Sud in Georgetown. My boyfriend and I spent a lovely evening dining in this past Saturday, and I ate the Steak Frites - one of the top 3 steaks I have ever consumed (coming from an avid foodie, and world traveler). Our server, Dan, was friendly, genuine, and personable. The environment and selections made the spot elegant, where the staff and ambiance made it sincere. Incredible experience - Highly recommend, and will definitely be back.

Really liked this place, fantastic service and really great food (had the duck breast - 10/10). The space is a little small though so I found myself sitting in between two other groups - they were pretty close so it was hard to have a conversation with my date without talking a little louder then I would have liked. Not the fault of the restaurant - just something to keep in mind.

This place is bit on the fancier side - don't show up in your work clothes, look nice.

Didn't get a chance to snap a picture of the food before it was gone - it was that good.

Ok so I can t quite express my feelings about this place in enough words. First of all, the 38 dollar (????) steak frites was dry as can be. There s an automatic 18 percent gratuity even for small parties. Unsurprisingly, the service was lackluster. Add in a 7% fee at the end and you just have a poorly run restaurant. Stay away.

Restaurant was busy, so got seated at the wine bar next door. Wine bar was described as "rustic", when in fact it was really just very dark (I like to see my food before I eat it). That said, the steak frites was one of the best I've ever had, anywhere. I had an coffee-based sundae-type dessert which was also phenomenal. Service from Juan was warm and friendly. Would recommend.

They said it's Michelle Obama's favorite restaurant. I found the mussels was great, bread was amazingly warm and crispy, but I am not a big fan of bread. The menu was simple. The staff was super kind.

This is far and away the best place to eat in Georgetown. The space is gorgeous and calming, with light blue walls, vintage decor, and low noise levels. Perfect for a date or dinner with friends/family you actually want to talk to. The service is impeccable but also warm and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, perfectly executed. The meat is always cooked right--I often stay away from chicken at restaurants because it tends to be dry or bland, but the chicken here was moist and full of delicate flavors. The trout is one of the best I've ever had. The wine list is adventurous for a classic French restaurant, which is a breath of fresh air: you don't have to eat your steak with an overpriced Bordeaux if you don't want to. Also, the desserts are shockingly good. Bottom line: you can go to Fiola Mare and scream sentences your friends still won't be able to hear while overpaying for underseasoned seafood and mediocre wine, or you can have an actual, memorable dining experience at Chez Billy Sud.

First I really dislike the star rating system, since the ones I see are very inflated. I give Chez Billy Sud 5 stars, because it is a place people should be encouraged to go. It is a bistro, with excellent bistro cooking, really friendly and attentive service, and generous portions. The mussels are very well prepared, the last time I had them (Jan. 2019) they were very plump and juicy, and the portion was, frankly, just too large for one person. The broth was so good, I hated to leave it in the bowl. the tuna nicoise salad is really good, and the tuna is fresh, and seared perfectly. The bluefish rillettes is a very tasty choice, good for sharing: it is rich!

The Best meal I remember having in a very long time. The service was impeccable and the waitstaff extremely knowledgeable. We went for our valentines day dinner and it couldn't have been more perfect. The restaurant is cozy, elegant and well lit, which is an underrated detail. The wine list was stunning and offered some very lovely bottles, but as this dinner was part of an entire weekend getaway, we weren't looking to go all out. The wine recommendation we received for our dinner was thoughtfully suggested and very reasonable. This is exactly the restaurant we are always looking for. Practically perfect in every way!

The wine here is delicious. I had one of the best sparkling wines here. Tried a total of 8 drinks between me and the hubby and loved all of them. We also ordered smoked pecans which were decadent and the lavash which the hubby loved. A definite must if you are in georgetown. The place is cozy with a fireplace which is great to warm up before a stroll along the georgetown allys and enjoy a drink.

Absolutely phenomenal! The staff (Dan in particular) were amazing, accommodating and generous. The food was excellent and you truly can't go wrong with what you pick from the menu! I can't wait to visit this cute, quant, intimate restaurant again. I highly recommend for any ocassion!

I had the confit duck leg. It was quite delicious and the perfect portion size. Wine was reasonably priced for the pour. Cocktails were incredible, and the staff was awesome. Entrees are slightly pricey but the flavors are there to support that.

My wife and I dined here this week for our ten year anniversary. While the food was excellent, the service really stood out. Adam was attentive, available, and helped take this restaurant a notch above the rest.
