Definitely a setup. They work together with the State. For businesses providing care for older adults in Maryland Workers Comp is mandatory. There is no alternative insurance company you can use - NO OTHER insurance company can provide workers compensation insurance - only them. They are the only game in town! Monopoly! How is that for a setup?
takes months or years to get treatment. Was injured in 2016, Took them a year to do surgery when it was requested 3 months after the injury. Then took another year for another treatment. Over 3 and a half years final getting some treatment. And don't expect regular checks I've gone 5 months at times without checks

Is the biggest rip off company. All what they care about is MONEY. We are small business paying so much and every year we are Audit by them to find out how much money we made, if our taxes shows a LITTLE extra income OUR WORKERS COMPENSATION GOES UP ..I thought that as business without any claims we could get discounts. We the owners of Small business are suffering because companies like Chesapeake Employers. I don't recommend this company... Unfortunately this company is all about money.
Very sneaky, unprofessional, uncaring, story fabricators, majorly slow with timely documents, have shady doctors on their payroll, will duck your phone calls, will Hammer you with multiple shady lawyers to drag things out, will deny you treatment, and they lied in a hearing with the commission.
Terrible company to deal with. State regulated and "non-for-profit", but they go after you with high rates and audit your insides out to get every dime they can. Even charge you for your subs until you prove otherwise. If any documentation is missing in the audit, they will find a way to make you pay for coverage that you will never claim on since its for subs with their own legitimate companies. Total croooooks
Hurt on the job? Don't deal with these bunch of crooks without a lawyer. They will try every crooked trick they know not to pay you what you deserve. With a building full of lawyers just waiting to cheat you.

They suck. Super lazy. All they have to do is call the hospital and get my payments taken care of. But no, I get multiple payment notices from the hospital and I keep taking it to HR. And they contact someone at Chesapeake. Nothing. I had to do it myself to get it done. After a debt collector contacted me. Great job guys. Really setting an amazing example.

I have 2 months trying to communicate with him in charge of audits and nothing that responds, we have sent letters by fax, by mail and nothing that answers, I call them and where if they attend fast is to make the payments and for that if they get a quick translator , but the audit does not even deign to get anything I think that Mr. is racist or does not like to do their job as it should be, to charge if they send papers every week but to fix the errors do not look at the cards that a herd

My husband has been battling these people since 1988. They do nothing but throw road blocks and force you to take them in front of the commission for things you are entitled too. They harass your Drs to the point they are afraid to treat you. Would love to have all that have been mistreated and harassed by them to start a class action suite. I will be the first to jump on board. I have 20 years of proof emails, calls, letters ect. to prove that this is what is going on. If anybody wants to do it please contact me through face book.

I guess it's not a coincidence that their review rating is so low. I had mild knee injury that over a period of a month got worse. By the time I checked it out, the doctor told me I needed surgery. The insurance did not cover me because I did not report the injury within 30 days. Out of good faith, as soon as I hurt my knee, I could have easily tried to collect insurance money but waited to make sure I was fine. When the surgeon told me I needed the surgery (my work requires me to be physically active), I made my claim which was refused. After years of paying money to get a protection in case of injury, I realized this company was a scam. After I threatened to sue them because they were completely unethical, they offered to refund me all the money I had paid over the years, which was less than I would have been paid if they had held their end of the bargain. Unethical company.

The most horrible customer service with no response
The company is great in aspect of approving medical, but in the instance of payment, not very good. My check religiously came on the same day every week except for 2 weeks that I didn't receive my check. When I called they acted like it was not their problem and I have to wait 10 business days before they can issue another. I was lied to about not being the only one that had an issue one of those weeks when in fact I was.
