Played on 8/25/20. Course was in very good condition tee to green. Greens maybe a little slow .... around 'average'. Bunkers were a little packed down due to recent wet weather and no raking. At about $42 per person, the value was OK.

Carts had JBL Bluetooth speakers. First time I've seen that. It was great! Carts also had GPS. Good thing too .... could not get a signal for the scoring/GPS app on my phone. Also worth noting, if you are using an app or device make sure it has the current hole routing.

Lots of elevation change and most of the holes were what you'd expect design-wise. One exception is number 8. 200-yard par 3 from the Blues with a very elevated tee and a fantastic view. I could take a couple of buckets and play just that hole all day. There are also a few quirky holes. Specifically 9, 10, 15, 16, and to a lesser extent, 18. Don't get me wrong, they were fun, but without local knowledge of landing areas and distances you're kind of guessing how best to play the hole.

Did not experience any of the negatives cited by other reviews.

Would recommend and would like to play again.

Wow, what a course! I was only able to play the back 9 (with my 86 year old Uncle riding with) due to time constraints, but easily the most beautiful course I've ever seen. This is no amateur's course, either. It is a Golf Digest Training Academy. The greens were FAST. The holes were dangerous in their landscaping (but so gorgeous)! Coming from Delaware, it looked like a beautiful moonscape painting.

One issue: Watch the Pro. He told me the back nine were "pretty straight forward", and I didn't need a map. Just cross one street and move to 14-17, and back across for 18. I crossed a street and ended up playing 18, skipping the previous. When I went back to him for clarification, he acted like I was an idiot. Not exactly the "southern charm" I expected, but the course and conditions made up for that. I'll play there again, for sure.

Cherokee Valley is a golf course in fine condition. Very good management philosophy ensures golfers will have excellent playing experiences. They've taken great pains to make sure the facilities and equipment are sanitized during these uncertain pandemic situations. Five star operation!

We played on April 3rd and the day was perfect. Low 70 s and sunny. Driving range was fantastic shape. They overseed the tees and fairways and they were perfect. The Bermuda was dormant in the rough. The greens were Bermuda and had not been punched. They were absolutely perfect and lightning fast. Made for a challenging day, but it was a great test early in the year. Price was excellent for the shape of the course.

Great golf course! Nice pro shop! Good fairways and greens! Definitely recommend!
Edit: Visited there today, played my best round ever of 83, the course is decently challenging, but in great shape right now, besides the greens. The carts have improved dramatically, they have EZ-GO ELITE RXV carts, with GPS s. In my opinion, EZ-GO carts have the best ride out of Yamaha s and Club Car s. The range here is super long! In order to get into the road, you have to drive it 370 yards. They have a new restaurant in the making, very close to being finished by the looks of it. Seriously considering becoming a member here!

Golf course was flooded in areas. The course does not drain well at all. The starter was rude and incompetent. Paid for cart and was relegated to cart path but was not told this when booking tee time.

Showed at 11am for a 11:12am tee time. Surprised about $52 fee, but that my fault for not checking before playing. At first tee, 5 men's groups were making turn from 18th hole. They were started earlier in day on back nine. When returning to club house, met by several employees (assumed one was management or club pro). Told them the situation and was basically told, we want you to be happy so if not, we will just give you your money back. Was upset that we had travelled an hour to play and they kept saying it was well worth the cost and if we were not happy they would just give our money back. They finally told us to go ahead and start on 12th hole. Most fairways in good condition, but some greens not in great shape. Would except a better customer service for this level of cost.

Beautiful course. Rude staff.... especially the guy at desk in clubhouse. Only course in the upstate that does not allow the use of coupons on separate transactions... they force you to pay for 2 people on the same transaction and attempted to blame it on the "way the coupon reads"...only course in the upstate to "read it that way"... we could have gotten over that had they not been so rude and condescending about it.

The course is in excellent shape. Beautiful greens. But the layout is extremely confusing and they have very few signs directing you to the next hole in those areas. Most confusing layout in all of the upstate (it used to be more fluent and logical in years past). But one of the most beautiful courses condition wise, as nice as some of the private courses I play. Just very rough around the edges when it comes to the staff unfortunately. The starter was just as rude as the front desk guy... told us to hurry despite having 10 minutes before tee time.

Ive been playing golf for 30 years. NEVER have I been treated so rudely at a course. The course gets 5 stars. The staff gets 1 star. Im sure the $0.10 cents they saved by having 1 credit card transaction instead of 2 will be the make or break issue for them financially...

May try a Finn scooter next time. They look like fun!

Course under new ownership and management. Excited to see what they bring to this already beautiful and challenging course. Even a bad round is washed away by the outstanding views. Y'all are doing a great job.

Great course, played the white tees but we should have played blues or the black. Very scenic from every hole. If you haven't played the course yet, give yourself a treat, it'll be the best treat you had in a while. Great condition played 7/13/16 took a 4hr drive from Myrtle Beach and I will be back . Next time we'll stay in the cabins.

Day trip with friends because we heard great things and played it one other time. Course was lush, greens were very fast, fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Course was challenging. Recommend the Finn bikes. Matt personally greeted us and his staff was very engaged and knowledgeable. Im a 1 HC and the course was challenging: with amazing elevation changes, different shots to play, and lots of slope on the course and greens. We are already planning to come back.

A great place for old friends 3 states away from each other to meet and play a round. Course is in great condition you need to play it! Staff courteous, prompt and helpful. Best example is Ground Under Repair project on #8 when Bobcat operator stopped for every one of our tee shots. Total courtesy and etiquette greatly appreciated!

Nice course, but booked on their website for $30 then was charged $37 when we showed up. Staff was rude and would not honor $30 rate even when showing the confirmation email from their website. Was told "that's not our website" lol ok.

Fantastic Golf Course!! We came down from Asheville and were very impressed with what Matt Jennings and his staff have done. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The views were spectacular!! We will be back!
