Love Chelsea's! Go here every chance I get! Great food, great atmosphere and Ralph and Dottie are the best!
Service was great, owners are very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious, just enough and the dessert (chocolate brownie w/frozen toping) was to die for. Enjoyed very much, will be back.
I enjoyed so much. I learned how to properly fix & drink my hot tea. So good. Food fanastic! When town I will make my reservations for sure.
I went with my Mother-in-law, my niece and my two sisters-in-law for high tea. We also had two infants with us. They were visiting from out of town and we wanted to try it for the experience. Before visiting Chelsea's, I wasn't much of a tea drinker. What I learned is a good quality tea makes a world of difference! I've been craving their blood orange tea ever since our visit. The food looked dainty, but at the end of the meal I was satisfied. I wouldn't go in expecting a heavy over filling meal, but there was plenty of food to satisfy each of us. Everything was delicious and carefully prepared. The owners were accommodating and friendly. The price is similar to a lunch out. It's a flat rate for each person and included tax&gratuity. I would absolutely recommend trying it. I look forward to going back!
The food was very good. However, the service was not up to par. The waitress was rude, short, and not very helpful. Anything we asked for (which was not very many things) she acted as if it was a nuisance . When we first arrived (party of 8) we were given a very small menu, the top of the menu had in very fine print "all items are made to order, everything on this menu is easier for large parties"- several individuals in our group requested a full menu- the waitress openly advised our small party what the fine print says at the top of the menu and then hesitantly went and got 2 full menus for our group. throughout the meal she hardly spoke, when she did speak it was very short, never smiled. At the end of our meal, we ordered several pieces of cake to share and requested some plates for us to use. The waitress said that when we arrived there were bread plates on the table that we could use those. We also tried to move the cake pieces around so that we could all share them, she kept trying to move them back to the original spot that she sat them and visibly got aggravated that we moved them down the table. The experience would have been wonderful with better service. We picked this place to eat with a work group that is located in Dalton. That is 8 different families, and two different companies that will most likely not visit again and spread their experience. I suggest trying a little harder.
Great food and nice peaceful atmosphere. A perfect place for a ladies luncheon.
I've been to Chelsea's many times and the food and service has always been top notch. I love the setting, Ralph gave us a history of the house which was fascinating and included a little ghost story (it was a Confederate hospital for a short time). There are over 30 different kinds of teas to choose from. You will not be disappointed! The food is what could be described as a light Luncheon. It is comprised of soups, sandwiches, and salads. The desserts are also very flavorful and delicious. So far we have had their strawberry cake, key lime cake and cherry cobbler with ice cream. The dining rooms are not too crowded and are warm and inviting. We have also been served on the porch during nice weather. While there we enjoyed hearing the noon time bells from the Church across the street. Another Chelsea's experience is the Traditional Teas held on holidays. We went to the Christmas Tea and had an entire 3 tiered tray full of tea time confections and savories. We ate every morsel and every bite was a delight. You need a reservation for the holiday traditional teas and it may help to call ahead and make a reservation on weekdays at lunch time to insure a table upon your arrival.
Awesome!! We had a baby shower here and it was so perfect!! We had called around Dalton, Calhoun and even Cartersville to no avail. I called and spoke to Ms. Dottie and knew it was a perfect match. I was calling from Savannah so it was sight unseen. It was the best. She listened to me, she was thoughtful and handled everything! Above and beyond! And the food was delicious!! I feel like Ms. Dottie and her husband are family now!
