When you are around it is worth a visit but I would not drive all the way up there to see it. The tour is okay. They have three different one to choose from. I wish they also had a restaurant up there

This place is a must to visit! They are honest and very friendly! I recommend calling before to make sure they are still open since its a 1h30mins drive but worth it. They told me its was a free visit and it was, the visit included the caves and wine tasting, its was amazing! We wish we could visit the outside vignards as well but it wasn't offered. However the vignards are surrounding the place and u can go and take pictures. Wine and arak prices are very reasonable, i like that they don't see u as a tourist and a money machine if i compare them to chateau kefraya their visit is much more worth it and free. While wine tasting the guide offered us to taste 4 wines but also adapted to our taste, and made us taste more wines then we were able to go buy them at the shop. We didnt try their menu We were in a hurry to visit chateau kefraya after but i would recommend staying at ksara because kefraya is not worth the price nor for wine or arak nor the food. Kefraya is a tourist trap!

It was interesting getting to know Lebanese wine and the history of the place. Though a bit more details during the tour could have made the experience more enjoyable. We had a great time with Reine who animated our "professional tasting"!

Visit the cellars very well with a short video of the history of the estate. Tasting of wines disappointing, with wines without soul. We have largely preferred the castle RAYAK absolutely unknown but whose wines are exceptional. So get off the marked trails.

My visit to Chateau Ksara was part of a day tour. After the lunch, we went to Ksara, home of the famous Ksara Caves. Unfortunately, the guided visit does not include a tour of the plantation. We briefly visited two rooms of the Roman caves More

About Chateau Ksara

Chateau Ksara: A Legacy of Fine Wines and Rich History

Chateau Ksara is a renowned winery located in the heart of Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. The winery has a rich history that dates back to the mid-19th century when Jesuit monks inherited and began farming a 25-hectare plot of land situated between Tanail and Zahle. Over time, the monks expanded their vineyards, experimenting with different grape varieties and production techniques to create some of the finest wines in Lebanon.

Today, Chateau Ksara is one of Lebanon's most celebrated wineries, producing over 2 million bottles annually. The winery's success can be attributed to its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. Chateau Ksara uses only the finest grapes from its own vineyards or those sourced from local farmers who share their values.

The Winemaking Process at Chateau Ksara

At Chateau Ksara, every bottle of wine is crafted with care using traditional methods combined with modern technology. The grapes are handpicked at optimal ripeness before being sorted by hand to ensure only the best fruit makes it into each bottle.

The red wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged in oak barrels for up to 24 months. This process imparts complex flavors and aromas that make each wine unique. The white wines are fermented at low temperatures to preserve their delicate flavors before being bottled young for maximum freshness.

Chateau Ksara produces a wide range of wines that cater to different tastes and occasions. Their flagship wine is the Reserve du Couvent Red Blend which has won numerous awards for its rich flavor profile consisting of blackcurrant, cherry, vanilla notes with hints of spice on the finish.

Other popular wines include:

- Blanc de Blanc - A crisp white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes
- Le Prieure - A full-bodied red blend made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Petit Verdot
- Sunset Rose - A refreshing rose made from Grenache & Tempranillo grapes

Sustainability Practices at Chateau Ksara

At Chateau Ksara sustainability is not just an afterthought but an integral part of their business model. They have implemented several practices aimed at reducing their carbon footprint while preserving natural resources such as water.

Some notable initiatives include:

- Solar Panels: In 2016 they installed solar panels on their roof which generate enough electricity to power all operations during daylight hours.
- Water Conservation: They have implemented drip irrigation systems which use less water than traditional methods while still providing adequate hydration for vines.
- Recycling: All waste generated during production including grape skins & stems are recycled into compost or animal feed.
