Chateau Des Charmes Winery Review

We enjoyed the wine tasting and our cheese tray. The staff, especially Galina, were very attentive and knowledgeable! The home delivery was quicker than expected. Thank you!

The wines are good, but the tasting is not at all personalized. We bring you all the wines at the same time and we were entitled to a paper indicating the wines, without any explanation. The amounts of cheese are also minimal.

We visited earlier this year, the sampled a few of the wines and the individual who was helping us was incredibly friendly and knowledgable about the wines. He was really patient with us and allowed us to take our time for sampling. It was a great experience and we enjoyed the bottle of sparkling wine we purchased.

Don't know much about wine but I liked this place! The tour was informative and fun and the wine tasting afterwards was even better. Got to taste the ice wine before purchasing it and it was great.Relaxed atmosphere and beautiful scenery and the place has a lot of history.

The staff was excellent in particular Robin and Nick were so helpful and attentive. Thanks!

Very nice estate, great tour and service, good wines

This place is so gorgeous and our bartender at the bottom floor was so wonderful and kind but after three tasters we were asked to move to the upstairs bar where the bartender cut us off. We had just arrived in niagara for a friends 30th birthday and were looking forward to trying all the wines. We were only able to get three tasters at this location and were told she can maybe give us one more but that's all she is allowed because people go to many different wineries and people get drunk? I think she judged us on our looks because we all do not look our age and we were no where close to being drunk or even tipsy. Anyways thanks for ruining the experience. We ended up going to Wayne Gretzkys after where we had a much better time.

Visit made during a guided tour with JAIMONTOUR. It was a great visit, our guide Sylvie was fantastic. His explanations, his comments and his dynamism charmed us.

Beautiful winery with friendly staff and good wine overall for the Niagara region. Great spot for a wedding given the very large mansion that's been constructed on the grounds.

My friend and I came down from Toronto last weekend, and had such an amazing time here. The estate is gorgeous, the wines are delicious, and our tour guide Sylvie was so much fun! She was the perfect balance of hilarious and informative, and we really appreciated her warmth in welcoming us. Due to the torrential downpour, our picnic lunch (delicious!! I strongly recommend you get it) was moved inside with grace and care. Looking forward to coming back here again!

Beautiful winery. We went there during the Pandemic s preliminary of opening things outdoors and we had a very lovely experience even though we had a specific timeline to stay there (only one flight due to the nature of global things). It was still such a beautiful experience.

I visited the winery today Saturday December 29 2018, with my spouse Peter, we met our tour guide Galina. By far one of the best guides I have had in the region. Not only was she informative but her experience and her personality. Other wineries they probably know their stuff but I look for the balance between knowing something and the way you make someone feel. Galina was that, magical. We just moved to the area (St. David's) so I feel the Chateau is our neighbor (lol). It felt like a family when I visited there today. Thank you for a very good day. Regards, Nadia and Peter. Chateau des Charmes is one of the oldest wineries in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We took a private tour and tasting, which made all the difference. Galena, our guide not only had extensive knowledge of the winery, but also had a particular expertise in the history of the wines of Europe and Canada. We were not rushed and given time to fully appreciate a variety of reds, whites, and icewines with pairings of artisanal breads and cheeses of Quebec. A great way to spend an afternoon in January, or any time of the year.

My husband and I went here for our 7th Wedding Anniversary and took part in the public wine tours. Galina, our tour guide was full of knowledge and kind, as well pretty humorous! We loved our visit and highly recommend.

We were greeted warmly, but that's where the great service ended. Disorganized and confused. Won't be back.

You can taste red, white and ice wine. Ice wine was sweet and delicious and bought as a souvenir.

Out of the 4 Winerys and the tasting we have done, this one was definitely the best, even for value for your money. Amazing wines, well pared with the cheeses. This is a MUST DO within Niagara region. Thr guy who served us, was super knowledgeable about everything, and then some.

My husband Francis and I had a tour on Sept 10th. and it was wonderful! Our hostess was Galina. She is an absolutely beautiful person and she treated us like family. We were blessed to be the only couple at that time. We had a great tour and wine tasting!

Great property in the middle of wine country. Attended my cousin's wedding here last September. Service was pretty good. Food was excellent. Wine was just mediocre. The building itself is well presented and the appropriate size to hold small to medium sized wedding.

We went on a tour with Paul, and it was one of the most pleasant and informative tours I've been on. I especially appreciated Paul's direction with our included tasting. I may not be an avid wine connoisseur, but that doesn't mean I can't follow someone to discover what to look for! I highly recommend this winery

I visited this winery today and was unfortunately disappointed with my experience. The ambiance was very lacklustre with the patio closed (even though it was 25 degrees), no music, fountain off, and wine was not great. Perhaps it s nicer in the summer when the patio is open but I would not return.

We came here for a wedding and were absolutely impressed. The food, the wine and the service were all spectacular.

The tour is worth taking and they give you a slice of the history of the area and how many of the wineries came to be what they are today. They make wine that is pretty good too.

This place is beautiful on the outside and you will learn inside. The wine and cheese tasting is definitely not something you'd want to miss out on while you're there.

Had an absolutely lovely four at four tour with Galina. She took us around the vibeyards, cellar and bottling area, then we were able to try 6 different wines and some delightful pairings. Highly highly recommend, definitely the most enjoyable wine tour we've had on the Niagara trip!

We found it to be a quiet afternoon and were the only couple to have a little tour with a very knowledgeable young man. The vidal icewine is fantastic!!

A beautiful vineyard, great tasting wines and super friendly staff. Loved the setting and a walk through the vineyard. I sincerely hope you never sell off like certain other ones on the Lake.

Galina was so wonderful! My wife and I will definitely visit again when it isn't covid times to get a proper wine lesson from her.

Beautiful on the pictures, mot even close to the best one in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Cannot tell anything about wine... because we didn t try it... because no one wanted to come and take an order, even though it wasn t busy at all. After 5 minutes lonely staying by the bar, we finally got a menu without any greetings or at least a polite smile. Looks like a regular bar inside, not unique at all.

We had 4 sip and sizzle tickets but three people because one person couldn't make it.
Yuko refused to give us the fourth wine and food, although they scanned all 4 tickets. It was disappointing, as no other wineries gave us any issue.

Great wines and elegant wedding venue. Try the gamay noir.

I had the wine tour the tour was good but the wine they served after the tour was really bad. Maybe just go straight for the tasing?
