Chartwell Wynfield Retirement Home Review

I'm a home care nurse and visit this RH often. This is one of the best retirement homes I have been too. The staff are amazing, friendly, caring and compassionate. When something is wrong, they act immediately. The nurses go above and beyond and are always helpful when I need assistance. The home's PSW are so amazing with the residents as well. The management team are always prompt when dealing with any concerns and are very approachable. If I ever have to put my parents in a home, I would choice Wynfield. I wish I could more then 5 stars.

Dad is settling in to his new place very well. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Wynfield Retirement Residence Oshawa, including but not limited to Samantha, Craig, Kathy, Kamesha, Ashley, Julia, Dave, Jessica, and Brianne for their expert care and assistance. Everyone has been so helpful and friendly. And Dad is always commenting how delicious the food is so hats off to the chefs and their many assistants! Thank-you everyone for going the extra m ile especially in these difficult times!

We have been so pleased with the professional care & warm hearts , knowing our father is safe & happy, especially during these trying times.As a family, we have peace of mind knowing dad is home.

I will forever be thankful and grateful to know my mom is in the best place! The management staff is THE BEST. A big shout-out to Samantha Petralito, Kathy Roberge and Beverley Cascagnette and a special appreciation also goes to Kristin (PSW on the second floor) for their compassion and professionalism.

It was an emotional process and such an important decision to choose a Retirement Home for my 95 year old mother in December 2019. We felt very comfortable at the Wynfield from the moment we walked in for our first look. It is welcoming and so clean and tidy. Mom felt "home" from the first day. She is happy and cheerful and lights up when one of the staff walk in. All the staff are also happy and cheerful...!!! And so patient and kind and knowledgeable. She looks forward to her meals. Her one bedroom apartment is spacious and bright. As I like to say.... "Boy, did I pick the right place..!!!"

Excellent retirement residence for my parents. Nothing but good things to say about the establishment and staff.

It was with trepidation that I moved my Mother, Lois Adam, from her home of 69 years to Chartwell Wynfield in September 2016. My worries proved to be unfounded. I have found the staff to be welcoming, warm and attentive, beginning with the smiles at the Front Desk. Communication is excellent. Although my Mother, at the age of 97, does not participate in very many of the activities, there is a full roster available, catering to all interests and offered with exuberance and energy. Care, offered as needed, is performed with kindness. Meals are excellent and served attentively in a lovely dining room. The building is well-maintained and decorated beautifully to mark each season. And since it is on the smaller side, the environment is intimate and quiet. Neither my Mother nor I could ask for more.

When my mother was no longer able to reside in her own home it became necessary to find a residence that would meet both her physical and social needs. Although she was adamant that she didn t want to move to a retirement residence, within weeks she told me she loved her new home. Her meals are both nutritious and delicious. She enjoys having her meals in the company of others. She has become very involved in the many social activities offered on a daily basis. She attends her exercise classes regularly which helps her with her mobility. The staff at Wynfield are now her second family. They provide excellent care and the communication with me is fabulous. I feel confident that my mom s needs are being met in a caring and dignified manner.
