Eclectic, cozy, and a time capsule of a bar that shoots you back to the 70s or 80s. They have a great happy hour and reverse happy hour, and karaoke with a live pianist just about every night of the week. The outdoor patio is all-weather, but it's also smoker-friendly so be prepared for that. The menu is huge, but I have yet to order something that wasn't a winner.

Funky, older place with some character. I understand the food is supposed to be good but the 2 times I have been, it wasn't super. Last time I ordered potato skins and the we're so burnt on the bottom they were black and as hard as glass. Doubt I'll ever go back.
Server turnover is ridiculous... which is a shame for the servers since they deserve better and in the lobby of the section 8 housing, once a hotel, is a lotto machine. Lots of regulars, some weary men lol but they do offer live piano, happy hour, and a 30$ Birthday tab which is cool. Open late, smoking on the patio. don t understand the ticket system here, the owner needs to revamp a few things but it s a good place for late night drinks.
My sister and I had burgers here, they were so good. I liked the vibe inside too. I definitely recommend this place if you re in the area and in the mood for something to eat, drink or just chill. Good music! :)
Charlie Browns has been a favorite of mine for a long, long time. A great place to have a few with friends, watch sports, and maybe sing along with the piano in the corner.
Great atmosphere!!! Old school cool! Use to hang out here in college and decided to visit while in town. Hasn t change a bit! Still the same dark cozy pub it was in the 80 s! Give this place a visit if you are in Lexington!
Love Charlie Brown's Extensive menu selection. Everything I have had was delicious. Piano bar with sing along is the topping on the cake. Located on the main floor of the Coburn hotel it takes you back in time to a simpler way of life. Too bad I can't sing.
This place has such potential, but it massively misses the mark. The pianist was great. I enjoyed the music and the singalong. It ended there.
The patio is smoking and there is not a clear barrier between that and the inside restaurant so you're assaulted all meal with the smell of stale and fresh smoke. There was an air conditioner or fan with a very high pitched sound I could not stop hearing. It drove me nuts.
The food was alright. It's what I expected from an old divey bar. Nothing to write home about, but it was prepared as asked and arrived hot.
It's unlikely I will return here. It's too much of an assault on the senses.
Patio is wide and accommodating for a lot of different types of weather. The fire burger I got was exceptional and it was a healthy serving. The turkey melt my friend had was a little meager on amount of turkey but the taste was reportedly very good. I think the appetizers and menu as a whole was a tad over-priced but overall will likely return.
If it ain't fried, you won't see it on the menu here! (They should make you sign a heart attack waiver form before stepping through the front door.) -Patio is on the shaded side of building & is cold at night -inside is dark
I like the food it was really good I ended up ordering a New York strip split it between two people they brought it in 2 place it was very very juicy and tender. good job, shrimp cocktail was pretty much shrimp on ice with cocktail sauce on the side. not what I was expecting but the steak was really good.
My family came in on July 21 after my father s Celebration of Life. It was also my sister s (Kathar) Birthday. All of us were visiting from out of state. Big thanks to Alex and the server for giving Kathar her Best Birthday Ever. Food was Great, singing was So FUN!!!! We ll all be back next time we re in Denver!!!
Charlie browns is a great little dive. During the summer, the pig roasts are wonderful. The menu is gigantic but the food is consistently very solid. I recommend this spot if you are looking for a greasy spoon in Denver.
Stayed in Denver for a week - and went there twice. The food was delicious. We ordered a huge variety - the skillets, pancakes, pizza, jalapeno poppers, and liked all of it. Prices aren't bad at all, and the service was good.
This was my hangout when I lived in Capitol Hill! I loved singing with the awesome pianists every night and I make it a point to visit every time I'm in Denver!
Pricing is getting out of hand. The prices in general are getting exorbitant, but now Salsa used to come complimentary with any Mexican meal. Now it's a buck fifty extra. They are charging extra for all sauces now. If the wait staff doesn't charge for it they themselves have to pay for it.
I have lived in Cap Hill for a number of years now and all the while, Charlie Brown's has been my secret weapon. When I sleep in on a Saturday or Sunday and need a good, rich, hangover-curing breakfast/brunch, I don't wait in line for an hour or more at any of the local breakfast joints that are overrun with hipsters on the weekends; I come here. The breakfast menu is awesome. My favorite item might be the huevos rancheros with green chili.
The lunch and dinner menus are great as well. They have a decent selection of whiskeys (which is important to me as a whiskey drinker) and friendly, attentive bartenders.
Love this place! Have been coming here for many years. The food and drink are always amazing! Thank you all for maintaining your excellence for so long! Keep up the good work Chucks!
Charlie Brown's has a soft spot in my heart for their delicious brunch but drinks and some food are a bit over priced and the enclosed patio allows smoking which makes the rest of the place smell like tobacco. If they disallowed smoking I'd be coming here much more often.
P.S. Best birthday special in town. All you can drink but it does have to be on your birthday.
Never been before last night, now I want to go All the time! The patio is heated and cozy; you can smoke a cig and eat simultaneously, a luxury I'm almost never afforded. The patio, dining room and restrooms were very clean. The service was spot on. I'm obsessed.
A really nice old place that is from the nineteen twenties or thirties. Food was very good, not too expensive and very nice piano bar. The only thing was one of the singers that was there, sang way to loud for the room size. A very nice voice, great song selection but she ended up drowning out all the other singers and to a certain extent, the piano also. I wish I had the nerve to tell her that to her face but I was afraid she would take it the wrong way. It almost hurt my ears, and she had no microphone! She thought she was in an auditorium, not a thousand square room. I would try it again when it is just the piano player singing, she was very pleasant.
Felt like someone died in there. My group was maddogged by everyone as we walked in. Stuffiest bar I've ever been to. My wife had an old fashioned that tasted like fireball and was filled with crushed maraschino cherries.
Great place with friendly staff, and beautiful live music. The 2 for 1 happy hour is a nice touch too. It was recommended by a friend of mine when I asked him I wanted a great steak at a great price. I would have taken a photo of it but I enjoyed the steak wayy to fast. I will come back again. Promise.
For my first outing on my vacation I went here and it was amazing sat and greeted immediately by Molly, she is very sweet, let us know that it was happy hour ( which is killer btw) and can sling a fantastic Manhattan! Highly highly recommend!
Visited from New Orleans and we wanted to find a chill spot to eat and get drinks. This place was awesome. The food and drinks were great. I loved the piano player, she made the experience 10x better. I highly recommended this place if you re looking for a chill spot to eat or have some drinks.
GO TO CHARLIE BROWN'S RIGHT NOW!!! This is the best live piano place in Denver. The food is out of this world delicous and the service is stellar. Great mixed drinks and the decor is very tastefully embellished with magic and miracles.
I had heard a lot of great things about Charlie Brown's and was excited as I lead my group of five there on a early Saturday evening. It was a beautiful spring night and we requested to sit on the patio for our meal. The patio was busy but we where seated immediately, with an empty table next to us. Our waiter greeted us with animosity, almost anger that we were able to have fun on Saturday evening he was not. We quickly ordered drinks and asked for a dinner menu happily anticipating a delicious meal. 15 minutes later our drinks arrived, correct but missing menus. Again we asked, getting hungrier by the minute. After ten agonizing minutes our waiter reappeared with waters but no menus. He brought with him a promise to bring us our menus soon but we were at our wits end. When our menus finally arrived, after another five minutes, we asked for our checks and left with empty stomachs and very disappointed. I normally have a high tolerance for servers but what happened at Charlie Brown's was completely unacceptable. I, nor anyone in my party will ever be back.
Great place. Bathroom and building are a little run down but great staff and food service goes late and has a wide variety of options. Also, fun piano sing along late each night
Been going to this place for 20+ years and will continue until I m dead. The food, Shawn the bartender, the owner, all genuine. Perfect place for brunch and football. Nice patio, clean, and great location with parking. Thanks to everyone at this establishment for keeping it classy and still affordable.
On the recommendation of my neighbors I went to try this place out last Sunday with a friend who doesn't live in the neighborhood. We walked in, found a table out side on the side patio as it was a lovely day. We each ordered a drink and an app to share. I was not 3 sips into my beer when the girl at the next table over started drunk puking right on the patio. And she kept puking over the course of the next 5 minutes. I finally had to wave the server over, pointed to the mess and asked for the check. It smelled horrible outside. It was taking so long to get my check that I finally walked inside as I couldn't bare the sour smell. I won't be going back. She was over served which lead to this problem, there was. I compensation given to us for such a terrible experience. We basically ordered 2 drinks and an app only to leave it all on the table, enjoy none of it, yet pay for all of it.
Didn't love it. The whole place reeks of cigarette smoke, the drinks are hyper-expensive, even for Capitol Hill. The staff was nice enough and the mood was cool. In the end, I think we'll stick with Prohibition.
Enjoyed the evening listening to Patrick play the piano and stayed through happy hour for some good food and 2-for-1 drinks. Servers were friendly but weren t the quickest with their service. Reasonable prices and quality. Otherwise a good time singing along at the piano! Definitely a place I d love to come back to on a future visit to Denver!
Not as fun as I thought it would be. Didn't hear any piano... Food is ok and expensive. No beer on draft. Sat out on the patio and I thought it was gross that all the staff smoked outside. Not coming back...
Very disappointed. We've been there a few times in the past, used to be a fun place (although cramped) but not last night! We went there for a special occasion and the entire bar place reeked of cigarette smoke. To make matters worse, the piano player was loud and obnoxious (a bit drunk? She boasted about her drinks) and couldn't sing to save her life. We drank one cocktail fast and left. Thanks for ruining our special occasion.
