ABSOLUTE DISGRACE to have an emergency room and not treat emergency patients. I've been in here for 2 hours without being seen for a possible broken hand. The VA has better service than this. Not clean, there's someone else's blood still on the floor and on the counter.

This is extremely important for anyone visiting this hospital to read. A while back when I was 5 or 6, they treated me horribly here. They miscalculated and "had" to do surgery on my throat, when it wasn't even something I needed surgery for. They didn't give me enough anesthetic to keep me from feeling anything, so I couldn't move or tell them I felt every cut and tube. Then, when I was finally able to move again, I couldn't say anything about it because nobody would believe me. I was freaking out though, because I was traumatized, and when I was finally able to move again, they were trying to put an IV that fell out (which is already bad enough since they should stay in the vein) back in, and I started freaking out about it. The doctor got upset at me for moving and shoved the IV back into my vein, puncturing it and causing them to have to do a few surgeries on my wrist, which I was also awake for because I didn't get enough anesthetic once again. They said I could leave that night and I wasn't released for 2 weeks, which was extremely unreasonable. So please don't go to this hospital, I really don't want any of this happening to anyone else. This was traumitizing, especially since I was so young.
Had two of our three baby boys here and I wouldn t go anywhere else for the next. Our first was born at the new u of m unit in Ann Arbor. That was nice but giant. View of the lake, couldn t ask for better doctors/nurses.
I had outpatient surgery on September 4th, and wanted to comment on the amazing care I received at Charlevoix Hospital. Everyone was extremely friendly, which definitely reduces the tension you feel prior to a surgery. My surgeon, Gregory McBride, was very clear on what my procedure entailed, and also alleviated many of my concerns. My anesthetist, Scott Stone, explained every aspect of his role in my operation, which I appreciated very much. Best of all, was my nurse, "Jan". This lady was amazing beyond words. A few adjectives that I would use to describe this wonderful lady include, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, competent, compassionate, and so much more! Thanks so much for making this, if not enjoyable, a comfortable experience.
The surgery rooms were not very clean nor was some equipment like the bp cuff. The anesthesiologist was not on time and phone calls had to be made. Took me waiting 2 hours for a 15 minute surgery. The Dr seemed to know what he was doing and the nurses were nice but it needs to be cleaned better and people need to show up on time
Wife had 3 surgeries at this hospital and the staff was great. The hospital cleaning staff were fast, efficient and pleasant. Would definitely go there again.
Our experience here was very good, they got us right back and the nurse, NP and Attending Physician that treated my three year old were excellent providers. They took their time, answered all my questions and allowed my son to sleep off his injury without any rush and assured me he would be fine once they re-assessed him when he woke up.
I had surgery here and found the nursing care to be excellent. I never hsd to wait for anything. They were very concerned about my comfort and pain. They helped me turn throughout the night. Best hospital experience I've ever had.
