I had never heard of Corporate Chaplains in my life until I moved to Alabama for a new job. It was really a foreign idea to me...I was puzzled that such a thing even existed. Once I moved past that...as an employee, my family and I were richly blessed by our corporate chaplain, Richard Buckley. I just really can't explain how much it helped to have someone listen to my concerns and pray for me and my family. And then not only that....but to truly help whenever he could.
Then as the executive director of a new organization, I was building a team of 130 people and I knew that I wanted Corporate Chaplains for my new team. One of the most compassionate things a leader can do is to provide this service for their team. Not only did this help my team, but it helped my organization as a whole thrive and run smoother. Life is hard and when employees realize their leader cares for them in tangible ways it is incredible the loyalty it builds. Some people may not want to pay for such a service as corporate chaplains but I can tell you from personal experience as a leader of complex and varied teams...it is worth every penny you will spend. In our world today Corporate Chaplains provides a way to care for your team in a special way, that is really not like anything else you will encounter. It can also help the bottom line of your company. When employees can receive counsel and prayer for issues going on in their personal lives, it actually helps them be more efficient and productive in their work life. This is a win-win relationship.
