Dress up a little, go out with your friends and have an appetizer and a glass of champagne at the very least. If you buy a bottle you put the corks into the wall of corks. It's a little upscale and totally worth a visit.

Forget the Champagnerie of weeknights, on weekends it turns into a full fledged club - waiting lines, unimpressive champagne list, and mandatory bottle service. That is all dandy, if it wasn t such a hassle to get in, poor drinks selection, and repetitive reminders that money need to be spent on bottle service - by my count, at least 10 reminders, or an average of 3-4 per person. That positively ruined any party spirit!

Absolute joke of a restaurant. Came for a birthday & it was by far the biggest disappointment I ve EVER had. Food took over an hour to arrive when it was empty, birthday desert wasn t the fondue au chocolat , but it was a disgusting fruit tartare that arrived at 11:50pm (not 12:00am as we asked for). Steak was overdone, asked for replacement, received a replacement FROZEN steak. Champagne bottle sat on the counter until 12:15am when it was supposed to arrive at 12:00 for the birthday girl. Do not even bother with this place, save your time & money and go elsewhere.

I just had two salmon poke bowls to go and they were amazing!!! Great taste and the staff member was kind and good vibes (even though it s just take out for now). Just a quick heads up, the sauce for the poke bowl is very good but very spicy. I will definitely eat here again!

Seemed like a posh place to have a night out. Get there before 11pm though, when they start the line to get in. Also check about reservations. We went for drinks at the bar so that was no fuss but it was very busy. Also great music!

Mediocre. Small portions, terrible service. We received baguettes with the tartare over 20 minutes later. A drink was spilled all over me and the server acted like it never happened. I m sitting here soaked while the server is arguing about how many drinks we had. Extremely disappointing.

Came here for my best friends birthday, food was AWFUL. Terrible service. It was an absolute JOKE. I ordered fillet mignon at 45$ and it came FREEZING cold and way over cooked. When i asked waiter for another steak he brought me back the same one cut in half and still cold. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

I would recommend Maison St Paul 100% to anyone. I have been a costumer since 2019 and I have always had a great time there. Customer service is great! From the moment you step through the door people welcome you with a great smile and are ready to serve you. They have the best bartenders and its so cozy. I prefer this place a lot over any other and I gave it 5 stars. I have never had a bad time or have they ever made a mistake in any order.

Thank you Maison St Paul

On the one hand, they have a great selection and do really interesting and delicious cocktails. The atmosphere is very swanky, and it's worth it to be well dressed. On the other hand, people weren't very social with anyone outside of their own small group. There was also no dancing

Very noisy (music and acoustics of the place) and we couldn't hear ourselves speak. We were a group not all seated together and we were rushed and almost kicked out because the main table was reserved by another group. Group price $ 85 per person for a 3 course meal which was not worth as much in my opinion and the price of wine and champagne is $$$$$$. I will not go back, but I am not the target audience of the place either.

My girl friends and I came last night for dinner and stayed after 11pm for the dancing.

The food was fantastic! I m a vegetarian and the way they catered to my dietary needs and allergy was phenomenal. Drinks were great, I recommend the volcano .

Just as good as the food was the dinner music, we were all really enjoying the entire experience. Our server was attentive and extremely professional.

Thank you again to the staff who took care of us last night, if I know of anyone coming to MTL, I will highly recommend Maison St Paul.

Merci Beaucoup

Mixed feeling here. If an establishment boasts of having a selection of champagnes from all over the world, it would be basic to me to serve wine by the glass at an acceptable temperature and not straight out of the fridge at 2 degrees Celsius.

A slightly impertinent waitress answering me that it actually comes out of the fridge and that it feels good to have a cold wine that refreshes was in my opinion a good opportunity to be silent.

Having said that, nice terrace, nice place. However, when it comes time to pay, I find it shocking that an establishment in Old Montreal is forcing customers into it by offering 18% 20% and 22% options.

The tip is a privilege in connection with the service received and unfortunately the Serveude did not deserve 20%.

Their wine selection is extensive (with obviously a lot of champagne/sparkling wine options). Wine prices in Montreal are higher than in the US so do expect to pay over 70$ for a bottle worth less than 20$ at the liquor store.

Food was actually more of the highlight than the wines (burrata, tuna escabeche, lobster & foies gras poutine). The quality is there and the portions are fairly large.

I would not call in fancy, though. It's a supper club. Go there if you're in your late 20's, not that picky on wines and are looking to celebrate some occasion.

I personally prefer places that have a more focused wine list (more private importations) and menu. But I would go back after 11PM to saber a bottle of champagne and have a little bit of fun.

Very nice ambiance, chilled mature crowd, great food and drink and the DJ was excellent.

Plus if you've ever wanted to try opening a bottle with a sword, that wish can be made a reality here. Cheers.

This place exceeded my expectations. Great concept. Our waitress was very knowledgeable in terms of champagne and other bubblies. A nice spot to celebrate a special event or milestone as you can sabre bottles - and who doesn't love that! Great vibes, the music wasn't too loud, so we were still able to converse without yelling.

This is the such a fun place to go for great food, but more importantly for a wonderful bottle of champagne. I went with a group of friends to try opening a bottle of champagne with a sabre, which anyone is able to do if they buy a bottle of champagne, and the staff were very helpful in teaching about how to slice off the top of the bottle using a sword.

Went to this restaurant for MTL a table with 7 friends. The food was very good but the wait was a bit long which is understandable since the restaurant was packed. When our desserts arrived, the suiter brought me the wrong one (pumpkin pie) I told him it wasn't the dessert I ordered (chocolate crumble) and he simply answered: "that's not on my list" and left. My friends and I thought he was very rude and asked our waitress to bring me the right dessert. She checked in her system and told me that the pumpkin pie was ordered. I understand that there might have been a misunderstanding so I accepted to keep the pumpkin pie (and I don't even like pumpkin but I was just over this situation) since she didnt offer to take back my plate. She did offer me a drink on the house which I refused. She was very nice about the situation and said sorry. As I was about to take a scoop of the pumpkin, the suiter came back and tossed the chocolate crumble plate in front of me, pushing the other plate towards the center of the table. He didn't say anything and just left. I think that his attitude is in appropriate. My friends and I had a great supper but this situation ruined our experience. We will not be returning.

Great location! The ambiance is loaded with personalities. The atmosphere is sizzling with pop music, people dancing everywhere, great conversations and best quality Champagne. Montreal knows how to party and have fun. This place is a must to discover whether living or visiting Montreal. Cheers!

Nice place for those who love champagne and bubbles. Private imports are worth it, but not the bottles found at the SAQ; the price is too high ... Antoine can help you make your choice, he's the best bartender! And if you want to try the experience of slashing champagne, it's worth it ... saber!

Very badly received. The practically empty place. We were there for just a glass of champagne. They refused us access to a table claiming that it was for the people who went there to eat that it was mainly a restaurant .... the young woman who served us brought us cocktails with bubbles and not with champagne ... she had deduced all by herself that we took bubbles .... service desuet..and too funny the Sunday before I was there and the service A1. First, the nice young man set us up at a table and made us our glasses at the table. Nice experience.

I had their amazing poutine, worth the price. In terms of my friend's dishes: Great octopus and calamari. Tartare trio was disappointing. Portions for nachos were minimal. Service wise we had an obnoxious waiter but an attentive busboy. Very pleasant experience with online reservations.

i had a reservation tonight at 9 pm and when i went the girl on the door Sarah said that someone called under my name to cancel my reservation which i did not and i showed her the email confirmation then she said as a favor she will try to find us a place on the bar it was 3 spots next to the kitchen when i asked for the manager she left and we waited 15 min the manager didn't show up so we left for good never to come back to a restaurant that doesn't respect his reservation or his guests

Over price for what u get.
Very disorganized,Our reservation was at 8.30 and we got the table at 9.30. It took half an hour to see the waitress to give the order, and it took about 45 min to 1 hour to receive the food.
When I asked the bill I noticed she added the 15% tip by herself
First time I saw something like that
The DJ was good

The hostesses are charming for the male gender but not at all professional in the catering trade it is impossible to speak as the music is loud inside a shame because the catering is refined despite everything but the service deplorable

New "happening" place with interesting champagne pop concept. The drinks are very good, the food is normal. The service is honestly not good. Understandable it's crowded, but waiters seem to have a lot of arrogance in the way they talk to you. Been here twice and felt the same attitude. I got the same dish both times: the black cod with coconut milk. The first time was better than the second, as well as the presentation. Not sure if the chef changes weekday vs. weekend but it made a difference given I ordered the same thing twice on different occasions. I would possibly hesitate to go back unless absolutely necessary

Had dinner there, mid September. It was a little dark, sat outside. Ordered dinner, got the bill. I thought it was kind of high and said nothing. Got home, looked at bill and at least 3 items were added to it that we never ordered adding over $40.00 to the bill. Should have said something, felt totally RIPPED OFF! There were only 2 guests and the place was almost empty so no excuses about it being busy. CHECK YOUR BILL!, even if you have to use the light on your phone.

Bartender Anthony in English was really awesome. Made us special drinks based on what we liked. Came out great. Awesome fun vibe. Expensive, but worth it. You can open your open champagne bottle with a sword!

Date of this visit was mid-October 2017) - I contacted Margo, the coordination manager at La Champagnerie a few weeks before my girlfriend and I had reservations for dinner while we were enjoying a long weekend in Montreal. The dinner was meant to cap off and celebrate the (hopeful) answer of yes as I was planning on asking my girlfriend to merry me earlier that same day (she said yes!). I told Margo about my plans and asked how I could make the evening a little bit more special and she suggested a few things. I decided to get a nice bottle of champagne, which her sommelier suggested (based on our tastes) and then they wrote a message I picked, in French, on the bottle which they then presented to us at the table after we arrived. My fiance absolutely loved the champagne and just melted with the presentation of the bottle/message. In fact, she loved the champagne so much she wants to serve it at our wedding! We took the bottle back home with us which we will keep forever as a reminder of the day we got engaged.

Margo really helped me out here and went out of her way to make sure our evening was great, and it was! Thank you Margo!

The food was also incredible. We started with a charcuterie board that had some excellent cured meats on it. My fiance had a steak, cooked perfectly, and so big she had to take half of it home. I had the poutine with filet and lobster, and like a fatty, I ate the whole thing. I ate a lot of poutine on this trip (because, who doesn't love poutine?) and it was the best I had on the whole trip (and I had a lot of poutine in Montreal).

I've read some of the negative reviews here and honestly, I didn't see or experience anything that they claim. I wouldn't call this your every day go to restaurant, it is a little pricey but hey, it's champagne, unless you're drinking Cook's, champagne isn't cheap. I felt like the food was priced reasonably well and like I said, it was delicious. The atmosphere was great, it was a little loud but not so much that I had to lean in to hear my fiance talk to me or anything like that. Next time we go to Montreal, we will definitely go back.

My brother and I went to champagnerie for a celebration! Had a great time and was fun to saber my own champagne bottle. Very wide selection and knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately after ordering a magnum of champagne (200$+), we chose to saber it because the bartender or manager refused to give a 5$ reusable top which I also offered money for. Left a little bit of a sour note..

Hello, unfortunately I have a very bad comment on the place. Despite the beautiful atmosphere, the service is horrible. My friends and I went a few times to go out and each time it's super complicated. The first time we showed up, we could not get in unless we bought a bottle at the bar (...). I tell myself that we are arriving too late, it is our fault (despite the fact that there is room, if we made themselves on their terms). But hey, finally we think we come to an arrangement to enter, because it was already late, mentioning that we will not take a bottle but we were there to consume alcohol anyway. Finally they come back to the charge and refuse to serve us at the bar. After 30 minutes of "silly" we ended up having peace. Second time, we do not take luck, it was the party to our friend, we reserve table, bottle worse. We arrive at the door, where the employee insists on knowing if everyone is there and how exactly we would be. We enter, but the table is not ready, we must wait. When the bottle is finished, we are harassed (not ask-harass) to take a bottle, but TWO (we were 6, not 12, 6!). In addition, despite their big filtering at the door, there were extremely too many people, it was aggressive and unsustainable. I understand that they are there to make money, that's normal. But are they forced to do so so by treating their customers as well? This is the goal of all bars in Montreal and I have never had a bad experience elsewhere.

Nevertheless, I have eaten once, and the service & food are excellent. But if you want to have an evening without drama in a bar, do not go there.

Went here with a group and we all had the same experience.... Ordered the $50 steak and they all came out looking great but when we cut it, half the steak was fat! I could understand one of them... But for all 3 and at that price point? Nope... Not again.

Food was served very late and was quite overpriced. Music was so loud it was impossible to chat. Terrible experience, do not recommend unless you want to eat an overpriced, pocket-sized and potentially inedible meal in a night club. Do not recommend, will not return.
