If you are in the market to purchase a home and need the guidance and support of a realtor, Paige and Dave Grove are not the agents we recommend and here s why.
As first time home buyers my wife and I shared questions, concerns and expectations about the process. We were assured by Paige that she would be the best qualified to guide us. Unfortunately, the commitment Paige made was not kept due to a lack of information, professionalism and honesty.
We sent Paige a list of our musthaves per her request. Each home she sent us was far from what was on our list. Ironically, we found our dream home from another agent who was trying to help us. This townhome fit all our needs. The database that Paige was using did not even show this home yet.
We submitted our first bid on the home and set up a time to view it with Paige, our realtor.
When we arrived at the townhome we saw Paige with another gentleman who she stated was her husband, Dave Grove. Odd as this was we carried on with the tour as scheduled due to our excitement. The tour was rushed and we were unable to get a word in edgewise as they constantly talked and made distasteful comments.
Maybe if they got to know us better they would have realized that my wife and I do not drink OR curse, so insinuating that I would be sneaking in the house via the basement at night after having too much to drink was not the best way to bond or sell me or my wife on having a basement.
We learned there was already a bid on the home but we were assured by Dave that if we made the suggested offer the seller would move forward with our bid. He mentioned that he was able to make this promise because he spoke with the seller s agent. We quickly made the bid as instructed. We later learned that the seller continued to entertain the other bidder. This dashed our hopes because of the promise made by Dave. The fact that neither Paige nor Dave had a response to what happened was even more disappointing.
With the seller not accepting our bid we decided to schedule the viewing of more homes with Paige. Again, we still had no idea why Dave was there. We signed up to work with Paige and she never once mentioned that they worked as a team.
Imagine our shock when we arrived at the first showing of five homes and were met by Dave yet again; Paige was not even there. The attitude from Dave was off-putting and rude. He had little to say upon meeting us and even questioned why we wanted to view more homes after placing our first bid.
During the tour we had no luck. With each home we visited, Dave never asked us our opinions. He shared no features or benefits and seemed like we were wasting his time. Also, if not for the GPS we would not have made it to the other homes as Dave was speeding to get to each, leaving us behind as he swerved in and out of traffic.
We got to the last home, and just as we were about to leave, Dave got a call from the seller. We won the bid on the townhome; it was at this time Dave s demeanor picked up.
Moving closer to our closing, we sent all of our questions/concerns to Paige via call or text. Our inquiries were met with one of the following. Either
Dave answered the phone or
We were told they did not know the answer and no effort was made to find out for us or
We were referred to someone else or
Dave misunderstood our questions and grew frustrated when answering them because he truly did not know the answer himself.
After these types of interactions we decided to seek help from our loan officer and closing attorney instead.
At closing we learned that Paige would not be there. She sent Dave on her behalf again. While in the office with everyone present, Dave decided to give a recommendation of a company to use if building a home but told everyone to beware that there would be a lot of little Mexicans everywhere if we chose that company. This prejudice and unprofessional statement sums up our overall experience with Paige and Dave Grove. It has now been almost a year and we have not received a followup call, text or smoke signal from our former realtors.
