Artemisa, the third female to give birth at CNRLI this year, gave birth to a young, Thursday the 12th at 23:00. The offspring is the result of its pairing with Fresco.
This is Artemisa's third delivery since she arrived at the CNRLI in late 2012. Although the delivery was complicated due to the position of the calf - she was born on her back and tail, making delivery difficult and difficult for Artemisa - Mother and creates are fine.
Biznaga and Flora continue to take care of their offspring normally.
On March 1, the 2015 calf season was inaugurated with the female Biznaga having her birth at the National Iberian Lynx Breeding Center (CNRLI), located in Vale Fuzeiros, Silves.

Between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm on March 1, three calves gave birth with enormous vitality. Two hours after giving birth, Biznaga changed his den, taking two chicks with him and settling in a mass of vegetation, leaving a young child behind. During the next three hours, he made no attempt to recover this brood, forcing CNRLI technicians to recover it, since the ambient temperature was low and the brood showed less and less vitality.
Between 00:00 and 13:00 on 2 March, the young was kept in the incubators of the CNRLI artificial breeding building, where it was fed by the veterinary team. At 1:00 pm, the young was again placed in Biznaga's pen, relatively close to its lair, in an attempt to make it recognize the cry of the young and collect it. Biznaga recognized its young and took it to the rest, three hours later (see video Bisnaga collects 3rd child ).
On March 3, he moved again to a place where it was already possible to verify that the three cubs are doing well, as well as his mother.
