A thriving HBCU in Ohio, and a much needed University to the community and the individuals they serve and support. Beautiful campus, A rich culture, and Under great Leadership/Administration in Academics and Athletics. Highly recommended, Go see for yourself!!!!
Came here for a college tour with our 5th grade students. They really enjoyed themselves. It was good for the kids to see young African American adults being productive and in leadership roles.
My son wanted to go here but the finances did not go through and as of this he has a 2500 dollar bill because of the paperwork he filled out there which went to them never did he a attend or have a class we talked to everyone in administration to get this resolved and the next time we heard from this college they gave him a report card B in one class and a C in the other class and he never stepped foot in there so as of today he has a loan which has grown and every year the IRS take his taxes so since Iam helping him from time to time I going to share this with everyone why this school has done nothing to help it's way past time now it's time for a Lawyer
I went to drop my son off and my 1st experience wasn't pleasurable. They took the joy out of dropping him off. Nevertheless the issues were resolved by others that were helpful amd needless to say he is a freshman at CSU
Beautiful to see young people in the halls. Moving in. Laughing. Being GREAT!
I graduated from C.S.U. The campus is not same. It looks great and updated. Each person we met was very pleasant and helpful. I didn't want to leave. I will return soon. I loved my visit.
I love Central State University, I once was a student!
I honestly wish I could leave 0 stars because 1 is giving this school too much credit. I worked with a student who attended this school (past tense because they left due to several valid reasons). The way the school handled COVID was insufficient. We struggled to get ahold of financial aid via phone and email to inquire in regards to the students financial aid. You call one department and they tell you to call another person who then tells you the previous information you received was incorrect. It s frustrating all around when all you want to do is talk to a competent person regarding something that should be relatively straightforward at a university. Also, financial aid is not handled properly at all. The student went all semester supposed to get a refund and all of a sudden at the end of the semester they owed a balance. The residence hall I went in multiple times throughout the semester smelled strongly of weed which is not conducive of a productive learning environment. Ultimately, the student left because they did not feel supported or heard by CSU despite numerous attempts to reach out regarding academic and financial aid concerns. This school is supposed to be a supportive environment for black students. However, my student was let down and left to figure things out on their own as a first generation college freshman. Now I m not one to go around and leave bad reviews, but my experience with CSU was truly disappointing ESPECIALLY considering the fact that it s an HBCU. At this time I would not recommend this school to any student or parent. Save yourself all the frustration and look into other HBCU s because frankly CSU ain t it. Step it up CSU...
