From my point of view it is not a regular zoo as one would expect since number of exhibits is too low for $20 ticket. It is really a small zoo. The food available inside is not that good. Bring your food, if possible. Men's restrooms are not well taken care of. Overall a descent place for fun and hangout. The toy train is really enjoyable. Extra $3 for this.

We just celebrated our daughters 2 year old birthday party today and it was better than we imagined! This was our first time in that zoo and didnt know what to expect. The party room was so pretty, the staff was more than wonderful and sweet, they played with all the kids, made sure everyone had food and drinks, had games for the kids and even the adults. Every single guess complimented the party from beggining to end, what a great idea to have it there. They took care of decorations, goodie bags for the kids, food and drinks, games, zoo passes for all the guest and all I had to provide was the cake. The zoo was really well maintained, the animals are easy to spot on, and there is a lot of action activities for kids. Thank you so much for making our daughters 2nd birthday so memorable.

Fun.

Over all the place was great for the family. At 1st we were that impressed when the opened at 9am. Seemed like they were ready for anyone except the payment windows. Everything we walked by as far as food, snacks & ice cream placed were still closed. They did not have any maps of the place a the guy said there are plenty of map signs all over the park to see, but you can take a picture....well we should of taken a picture cause we only saw 1 other sign. We went to feed the Giraffes at 10 when that opens, but the guy said they first feed them special leaves 1st and it takes them a half hour to eat . He was honest and said that they eat those first before anyone can feed them, but it would make more sense if you would feed those branches and leaves to them before you open. A lot of small other stuff, but I need to eat now.

Nice little zoo! Some exhibits weren't open, but I believe the prices were discounted because of it. We only had one encounter with a staff member and that was at the otter exhibit. She was extremely nice.

You get what you pay for. Its an inexpensive, lil zoo test takes no more than an afternoon to see everything. The staff is great. Animals sleep in the hottest parts of the day so go early am or later pm or better yet spring or fall or winter...

I brought my grand children here. Also my first time visiting. I thought it was going to be a lot better. But it s really a sorry excuse for a zoo . The animals look miserable. It really just looks like some sort of back yard attraction. Do not recommend.

I m sorry but my experience at this Zoo wasn t very pleasant. I found it to be a poor value for the money you pay and less focused on the animals and their care than others I ve visited before. The animals have very little space and don t look at peace or comfortable. I see it leaning towards an adventure park more because they have zip lines and a walk on water attraction, not included in the admission fee.The splash zone is nice, but again no need to go there for that. The train and the carousel at the entrance are nice too, but not included in the ticket. The bathroom we visited was very dirty and out of paper

What a beautiful experience for my children, from feeding the giraffe to the albino diamond back rattle snake just outside of the herpatarium. There's also an in the tree's experience that older kids ought to love. They have replaced the food shack with a Sonny's stand that was just delicious, exactly the fuel my kids needed to continue our adventure. Make sure to bring bathing suits for the kids if you plan on coming during summer, so they can cool off in the splash pad while you have a beer or spiked Seltzer! Will definitely come back soon, has improved from the last time we visited 2 years ago, there's still much to do and explore!

We visited the zoo today for my birthday with my family. Kids loved the animals, playground, and especially the splash park. However we had a big problem with a staff member, Heather, scolding my 18 month old child for not being quiet enough during her snake feeding presentation!!! Basically forcing us to leave even though my 4 year old still wanted to look around because we were still by the front door of the herpetariun! I could understand if my son was crying but he wasn't , he was giggling and oohing and awwing at the animals. Other parents were disgusted by her treatment of my kids as well. Other than that my family enjoys this little zoo and the train rides.

Not a place to write home about. Saw very few animals, most were in their pens while staff tended to habitat or feeding. This should be done way before opening, instead of waiting until during times guests are paying their hard earned money. They also had areas closed off for decorating for some special event they were not having for another 8 days, so all the animals, like the eagles were unavailable to view because the area was closed.
In my and my wife's opinion it's a waste of $40 and your time, the Jax zoo is better even on a bad day.

I have lived in Florida my entire life, so when I was a kid my grandparents would take all of us grandkids to the zoo during the summer. Over the years I have watched as the Zoo has changed and grown. My kids love being there and seeing all the animals and I had fun seeing everything like when I was a kid.

I would definitely recommend taking a trip to the Zoo, either with kids or by yourself. It is very educational while being enjoyable at the same time.
