Central Dermatology Center Chapel Hill North Carolina Reviews

Called this morning because of acute (likely) hives. They got me an appointment at 1:40 today. I was seen as soon as I finished the intake forms. Even though the staff said today was a "crazy" day, everyone was extremely friendly and responsive. I had read the earlier reviews about the poor service so thought I would post this to describe the current office. If there were issues in the past, they have been more than addressed based on my visit.

Never have to wait. Everyone very nice and knowledgeable

Dr. Devries did a thorough examination and explained everything I needed to do. Very nice bedside manner.

I ve been a patient of this practice for 3-4 years and have always seen Laura Phillips PA-C. I am a physician assistant myself and can tell she really knows her stuff and loves what she is doing. She is always thorough and communicates well. Her procedural skills are excellent too. Provider and all staff are always very friendly. I was also impressed with how quickly a recent test result came back (just over 24 hours).

I think the level of care is fine, but the waiting can be painful. I generally anticipate waiting about a half hour for each appointment. Last time I went I got there five minutes late (there was traffic). The girl at the front desk said that they had tried to contact me (really? my cell is right here and it doesn't show any missed calls) and due to the fact that I was late they weren't going to be able to see me. I showed her my phone. At this point it was now six minutes past my appointment. She said I could wait an hour and a half.

Ok, listen. I know clinics run behind, especially in the afternoon. I have no problem with that. But blaming the patient for your inability to run a clinic is pathetic. I will not be going back.

Dr. was very thorough and wanted to avoid cutting if at all possible, which I really appreciate. He did take one biopsy in the end which resulted in pre-cancerous issue to watch, but no further action needed at this time. Although I've been seen at Central Dermatology for over 20 years, this was my first visit with Dr. DeVries but it will not be my last.

I have not had to wait to check in or tobe seen at this office. Everyone is extremely friendly and caring on top of being professional. I would certainly recommend them to anyone in the area needing dermatology care. Kay

All of my appointments at Central Dermatology Center have been timely and through to meet my needs. The staff are courteous and caring as they deal with patients. I feel lucky to have found such great dermatology care since moving to North Carolina a few years ago!

I have seen Claire regularly over the past two years and set great store by her pleasant personality and gentle professionalism. She is the reason I patronise Central Dermatology.

While there was a bit of a wait until they ushered me back to the exam room, the assistant and Dr were perfectly respectful and gave me a couple of care options.

My recent appointment with Central Derm was at 10:20. Check in was quick and pleasant. I sat down and was taken to the examination room within 5 minutes. The P.A. was very nice and asked about my concerns. She explained how the appointment would proceed. Ms Phillips came in and she began addressing my concerns. She was concerned that a spot on my nose was not improving so she used a quick couple of sprays on the spot. If you need a dermatologist office that is truly interested in your skin issues, give them a call-you won t be disappointed!!

Terrible experience, from the time I walked in through the entire appointment. The receptionist was rude and short. I found the dermatologist (Dr. Wang) to be unhelpful. She recommended several different treatments, but did not take time to carefully explain the regimen that I should follow and how the different treatments might interact with one another. When I asked questions, she rushed through her responses, not giving me enough time to process what she was saying or ask follow-up questions. She then scribbled illegible instructions on a small sheet of paper as a guide for me -- totally useless when prescribed several things at once. The doctor also performed two minor procedures on me that left me bleeding, but I wasn't offered band-aids. And the impatient doctor's aid didn't wait for a "come in" after she knocked, so she walked in on me half-dressed. I'll never go back here.

Thoroughly impressed with them. Everyone from the front counter staff to everyone in the back that completed my skin cancer removal. Dr. Goldstein was great and explained every aspect of the surgery. Definitely will come back to them for all of my follow up exams.

Nothing but the best here! My favorite is Dr. Laura Phillips.

Dr. DeVreis is the best dermatologist in Durham.
I have had Basel & Squamas skin cancer 8 times and he has caught all of them. Extremely thorough and educational. Very efficient office . If you are a former Beach Bum like me and or outside frequently; you owe it to your family to get checked out.

Little wait time. Staff practiced safety with social distancing, masks, and thorough hand-washing. Truly listened to patient questions.

First time ever at a Dermatologist. Was not impressed and will not return to this location. Evidently they were behind schedule, but caught up with my visit. Was suppose to be a "base line" see what concerns you, then see what concerns us visit. Ended up with see what concerns you, check back in half a year and we will see what concerns us.... That will not be with this company. Got their co-pay though, so the money is good on the business side. Understand the wait time concern from the prior review. Guess that is why they wanted me out of there quickly. Was told to expect an hour, was probably out in 10 minutes, not counting the 30 minutes waiting in the lobby. So the hour was true.

My wife and I were impressed by how thorough the exam was and the professional way it was conducted and followed up with on the email sent to us. Everything about our visit was positive, from the ease of parking, the friendly staff and Dr. Chang and her thorough exam - better than other doctors we have attended.

My first visit to CDC. They were quick to get me in the room. I waited only a few minutes for doctor to come in. I felt comfortable with doctors knowledge and plan for my problem.

I have been a patient there for more then 10 years in the Medi spa as well as the Dermatology side. I love this place as everyone there is so nice and they always try to make your visit the best possible. I tried another place for Dysport and was not satisfied at all. I won t do that again.
They are always up to date with all the new products and well trained in doing them. Prices are also great with monthly specials.

The doctor I saw on both occasions was very friendly and informative. She took her time with me and covered all of my concerns. I highly recommend Central Dermatology. Excellent patient care!

I was greeted with a smile and some small talk which put me at ease. By the time I filled out some paperwork and returned to my seat I was being called. Everything was explained to me what to expect during my examination. Not once did I feel uncomfortable during the exam Any and all questions I had were answered I am still amazed at how meticulous the exam was performed. From the top of my head to the bottom of my feet , every thing was checked. I had put this off for several years feeling very uncomfortable with someone checking my body If you need an exam or wanting to change your present office give Central Dermatology Center in Sanford a try I promise you will be happy you did

The front desk staff is efficient and caring. Allison and her assistant are amazing and professional. My questions and concerns were answered and when necessary alternatives were suggested.

An excellent place to obtain a wide spectrum of dermatology services. The physicians are skilled and friendly as is the staff. And the practice is very efficient so that you are seen at a time close to your appointment and moved promptly through treatment and checkout. Strongly recommended.

My husband, Franklin Garland, saw Dr Gagnon on 09/18/19. She diagnosed his problem immediately and in the same appointment, she took care of removing a cyst. It was excellent that the problem was solved that quickly.

Because of Covid-19 concerns, I recently cancelled my early November appointment. However, all previous appointments with Central Dermatology have been top notch. Many thanks!

Lynn Cheng, M.D. is an excellent doctor, she is one of most caring doctors I have ever met she listens to my concerns and she so knowledgeable about my conditions and try to do the best and proper treatment for me. My exam was swift but thorough. The staff and doctor were quite pleasant. Most important for my experience is that I felt listened to and not rushed through like a part an on assembly line. I will come back.

Fairly quick and nimble for such a large practice. I was roomed soon after arrival (<5 minutes). My reason for visit was narrow and easily addressed by the excellent PA, Allison, so cannot speak regarding the physicians in the practice.

I ve been a patient with Central Dermatology for over a decade. The staff is wonderful, caring and very knowledgeable. I recommend Central Dermatology to all of my friends and family.

Lack of hand hygiene from the Doctor is my only concern. Otherwise, the visit was fine.

Beware of fraudulent billing! They have consistently billed for a 30-39 min extended appointment instead of the standard 20-29 for accutane check-ins in which the doctor spends no more than 5 min with you.

Dr. Gagnon is very thorough and has a great chair side manner. She explains things very well and is always so friendly. I would highly recommend her. Great Practice!

I have been a patient at Central Dermatology Center for five years, and from my initial visit through my Mohs surgery and every visit since, the doctors and staff have been caring, skilled, and thorough. Time in the waiting room can vary but has never been overly long (20 minutes max, usually less). Visits for skin checks are thorough and efficient, and never feel rushed.

Excellent medical environment with high technical and professional care.

I have trusted Drs. DeVries and Goldstein with my skincare for several years now and have referred my entire family and friends to them. I appreciate their skill, expertise, and understanding.
