Center for Photographic Art Review

AVOID THIS PARTICULAR GALLERY, IF YOU CAN! The center for photographic arts has done nothing to advance young photographers ambitions or photographic careers. A case can be done against them in which they've practiced "Nepotism" in they're Juried Shows. I noticed how some got favorability over others and how anyone who knew anyone got ahead or shown, even granted solo showings. When I notice the pattern of how they operated as an organization & Juried Show. I asked for a refund. Which I won! the they settled and refunded my paid membership. So if you're thinking of applying to a CALLING JURIED SHOW, be WARNED and be aware of you're ODDS.

Outstanding exhibition of local and national artists.

This welcoming gallery space is exquisite resource Monterey-area for photography in all its manifestations. Most recently, the cyanotype exposition was a fascinating presentation of a classic (and beautifully blue) photographic art form.

We are extremely lucky to have this local photography landmark in our area. There are so few places dedicated to photography as art. It is an accessible institution with a focus on furthering the exploration and appreciation of this specific art.

Great place to see wonderful pictures. Free lectures monthly.

The person who should is the photographic art was amazingly enthusiastic and made it fun to watch.

If you like quality photography, this is a wonderful museum. The reason I like the Center for Photographic Art is the history of art photography that it's tied to. The various exhibits have inspired and intrigued me for years. It's a small place but it has a broad following and great artists, both historical as well as contemporary, who are shown here.

Small but very interesting exhibition. The guy working there walked us through the exhibition in person and gave great background information. It was a very informative visit, and this place should be on the list of anybody interested in photography who is nearby.
