Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas, Phuket Review

Purchased the day pass to enjoy their facilities. Great value covered all our food and drinks and allowed us to enjoy the beach and have a great spot to relax and clean up. The lazy river, platform jumps and sliders were fun for the whole family.

This is the single most awful place that I have been in my life. I don't recommend this hotel from the bottom of my heart!!!

We walked around the territory of this hotel. The hotel terrace is very large and well appointed. The hotel is located on the first line, 30 meters from the sea.

What an awsome place 3 restaurants and all are fantastic. Close to Karon shops just a 5 min walk up the beach, and what a beach it is. Great pools and lots of organised fun activities for everyone. These include fitness, yoga, water sports and just general fun stuff. Also great for families. I stayed in a room with its own pool in block 7 and loved every minute of it. Club lounge access is also worth the extra money. And to top it off the staff are really friendly as you would expect in the land of smiles. I recommend the Moscow Mule if you are getting a drink from the bar. Special thanks to Pay in the club, she was fantastic

Very nice resort by the sea. Staff very attentive and friendly. It is possible to alternate sea and pool. One can also choose between animated zones and zone of calm according to his desires.

We went on a family holiday which was great! The staff at Centara welcome you and they are very friendly, by the time you leave you feel like part of the family. Choice of food excellent, pool and facilities amazing. The Spa is very good. We took their credit option if you get 100000 Thai baht they give you 100000 more to spend during your stay, they have small amounts option as well. The location is on the beach , soft sand very nice walk. I would definitely go back and recommend this hotel if you go on holidays with kids( including small babies).

Great place to stay on Karon beach. Incredibly clean beach with gorgeous sunsets. Beach is crowded off property. A large, spread out resort with dedicated kids offerings. A bit dated and the service was alright but not excellent. My family had a great time.

I would love to give this resort 5 stars since our stay was amazing but our experience afterwards was extremely poor. Whoever checked us out did not return our security deposit of $200 and after being assured that our deposit would be return to us, we stopped hearing from the resort and have not received any replies to our last email since. It's going to be 4 months now and this situation has been extremely frustrating. It's a shame that a beautiful experience was ruined by poor communication.

Beware of this pernicious scam. All breakfasts are not created equal. If you sign up for a room with a free breakfast, you may get a green dot on your room key. This enables you to get a pretty good breakfast. But if you have an orange dot, you will be relegated to a horrible outdoor breakfast (a few data points - no bacon, no pancakes, much less of everything). Further, there is no way to tell in advance if you will be hit by this scam. I only discovered it when we were rejected at the normal breakfast place on the second day and I was taken to the outdoor place. I paid about $200 a night and was still treated like trash. I would avoid this place. Do the nearby waterpark as a day trip from some other hotel.

It's your best choice If you are looking for a quite and relaxing resort. It's located in Karon Beach which it is a very quite area and It's 10 minutes away by a car from Patong Beach

Really enjoyed our stay at centara grand, everyone was lovely and made our stay very enjoyable.. aria and billy were very entertaining and the kids always enjoyed all there activities

The room is good. The day to stay. Building 2 The room above has a renaissance and the sound of the wood is very loud, so the building has to be moved to the 9th building in front of the beach. Easy access to the pool and the beach. Nice swimming pool. Nice jacuzzi. But the buffet night is not worth it. Food is not worth both variety and quantity. Good breakfast, but still can't fight Amari or Dusit.

The hotel is good, very wide, a lot of rooms, there are two swimming zones. It is a water park zone with a slide and a normal swimming pool zone.
But with a lot of room The hotel may not manage to clear the room in time, check-in will be 15:00 and check-out 11:00, which is probably the only downside here. Oh, and children may be a bit due to the strengths of This is probably a water park that makes it a lot to come as a family.

Unfortunately, no 5 star Nivau. Pool area partly quite damaged. Without bathing shoes swimming in the pools is unfortunately dangerous. The rooms are very loud. Not necessarily suitable for those seeking peace..Optically nice hotel. Well located. Great spa. But just overpriced for the performance. Second class hotel for a great price. Unfortunately, you look over damage or dirt away.

Especially for Koreans, it is difficult to find meals
It is less than 20 minutes away from the Adult Walking Street, which is a busy shopping area. Massage, currency exchange, meals and various items are available. Especially tropical fruits are very cheap and delicious.

This hotel service is great. I would like to iron and ironing board. Staff can find it. Anyone who comes here should allow time for swimming. Take a walk in the hotel too so you won't regret the beautiful view in the hotel. But the entrance to the hotel has to drive carefully because going up the mountain and turning into the hotel When you come for the first time, you should drive slowly on the left before reaching the hotel.

Late posting this review but I absolutely loved staying here. When I go back to Phuket, I'd love to come back here. The views are amazing. The facilities are great. Prices are just wonderfully fair. Food and service was good! The beach was clean and the water blue. Location wasn't too far everything. Highly recommended!!!

My family and I were fortunate to enjoy 12 awesome nights at the Centara Grand Resort in Karon Beach, Phuket recently.

The resort has everything required for a perfect stay; from private adults only pool, awesome main and kids pools, lazy river with slides and cliff jump, delicious food and beverage options, kids club, state of art gym, comfy accommodation rooms and one of the best Day Spas facilities in the world. Direct Beach front access with crystal clear water (the sea was soo warm and inviting)

Daily Buffet breakfast is excellent with global options. Thai noodles by the pool is a must and then the different themed dinners options each night keep everyone satisfied. (Kids under 6 eat free )

ALL the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and service your every need! They stop and say hello each time you walk past them and it s clear their customer focus is their paramount task.

Special mention to a some staff members who went over and beyond their roles to make the kids and us really enjoy our stay even more; YU who personally knows all the kids names and interactive with them while enjoying the water slides and cliff jump - a great guy and valuable staff member.

BEER running the Pool side bar ensures everyone is having a good time and is well looked after with a friendly smile.

AIRA & BILLY from the Carpe Diem Entertainment team, really made the whole family welcomed and entertained during their hosted activities, from daily Aqua aerobics, pool side games, kids disco and nightly themed parties.

Highly recommended and would stay again for sure.

The hotel itself was not, but the beach is across the street. Half a minute and you're on the beach. The hotel sits at the pool a lot of Chinese people) They do not go to the beach, fresh content with a little water, a bar and sun loungers)

The room was great and the food was lovely, but the staff make it amazing! My two young girls had the most wonderful time, everyone was so friendly, and Aria and Billy from the entertainment staff were brilliant, engaging and always took time to include everyone and play!

At first we were not pleased. The honeymoon room we booked was drastically different than what we saw online and we spent a couple hours working with the staff for a better room. We are now in room 147 and I think it's a superb room with a spa and a ocean view. Originally, the other room was so far away from the ocean, had an obstructed view and came with 2 double beds(no king bed). The staff are helpful and very friendly.

Excellent structure, among the few hotels in the area directly on the sea and the beach is really very beautiful. Costs appropriate to the category. The staff is really kind and helpful, if you have a problem or a request, they will do all they can to the solution. The SPA is well above average. Just minutes from Patong, where life is more animated than Karon. Good impression in general, maybe the hotel would need some minor tweaks ...

I recommend with children, the best while for a holiday in Phuket (where I was). Get ready for a good holiday to spend about 3,000 baht per person per day for food, liquor, car rental, a trip to attractions and concerts.

Great resort. Prime location right on the beach, wonderful pools (the adult pool is especially relaxing), and attentive staff. Ciara at check-in was exceptional and checked in with us throughout our stay to see if we needed anything. O at the adult pool was also provided great service. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning!

Great place. Ideally located between pating and karon main road

We returned home a week ago from here , we are still talking to everyone about it. The best Holiday/Honeymoon ever . We did have a small issue with the initial accommodation but this was down to Virgin Hols in the UK not Listening to our requirements when booked. The Hotel Staff, without any suggestions from the Virgin rep sorted this out very quickly.We were offered an upgrade at understandably an extra cost to us but gave us the the type of accommodation we required in the first place. A massive thank you to all of the Centara staff especially Tips, she was amazing and made this a Holiday to remember for all of the right reasons. Thank you.

Great choice for families with young children.
The hotel, location, pools, food etc all very good but the entertainment/kids club staff were exceptional.

Genuinly friendly and caring towards guests kids. They made the holiday extremely fun and memorable for our children.

We had the Jacuzzi room with an amazing view to the beach. The room itself is not so spacious. Breakfast buffet is big, but getting kind of boring after a few days. Overall the restaurants and food is very good. Every day day have different themes so you won't get tired of the food. Staff is very friendly and always helpful for all your needs. Very child friendly hotel with plenty of things to do for the kids. My personal highlight is definitely the GYM. Plenty of new and well maintained equipment. Muay Thai personal trainer. Opens 24h. Also the Spa I highly recommend. Only the price of the rooms compared to other hotels in this price class seems a bit to high for what you get. Also a bit disappointed about that they charge extra for the WiFi.

Fabulous hotel, staff are incredibly friendly and do nice

This is probably the best hotel in Phuket! The huge territory, its transport on it, open bus. Water park, children's area, the beach, and breakfast deserves a separate review.

Great little spot. Its tucked away from the hustle of Phuket and caters for just about everyone. We really enjoyed our time there and are considering having our wedding there early on 2020. We will definitely be visiting again.

Our stay at Centara Karon Resort was absolutely amazing. My family stayed here for 8 nights and what made our trip extra special was the beautiful people we met who operate the kids club and entertainment. We formed such a special bond with Tin, Marinka and Mei and are going to miss the so much. Fantastic resort and fantastic people. Thank you.

Giant and cozy little but for just and quite expensive if you don't drink beer :)

Although the breakfast has weakened much more than five years ago (there are lots of things to do), private beach (kata) is still a beautiful resort with two swimming pools (water park type and general swimming pool type). But the price is expensive and the location is a little ambiguous.

Loved it! Such a great place for families with kids. Only negative was they can't guarantee room types. For example we booked and paid for 2 x Ocean View Spa Rooms and only got one with the Ocean view. The other had a view of the pool area. A bit dissapointing.

There is a spacious place suitable for families to come and relax. The hotel next to the beach, the hotel is quite wide and has a golf cart to pick up all the time. It is better to have a public car. There is a small water park that is suitable for children to play. Looks safe and not hot. Safety may not be much, because I was able to lift up to the room for a party, it's not a 5 Star, but ax throwing good service.
