You must have dessert! The sample platter was amazing and was served beautifully with hand made ice cream and a macaroon. Would have been a nice atmosphere if we weren't placed in front of the bar area. Escargot and mains were average. Service wasn't as attentive as expected.

Went to Claire s for a date and it was the perfect choice. It s a chic experience with gorgeous service by the staff, welcoming and buzzy like a Parisian bistro. I had the cheese souffle which was so delicious I forgot to take a photo, followed by beef tartare and a creme brulee which was divine. The wine list was full of unexpected French specialities that tickled the palate. Highly recommended.

The tally for 2 people with drinks was $150.

excellent french food. we had the duck liver parfait + steak tartare (superb, really great meat and fresh). For mains, lamb shanks (a tad too salty the sauce but okay with the coscous), pork belly (excellent) and a side of fries. French speaking staff (superb service - really friendly) , great fitout - its really classy and elegant. Can't fault it. Will be back. Well worth a look in for a romantic classy french meal

Garbage.

Garbage.
Overpriced, overrated.
The staff are rude and the guy that owns it is so up himself it s a joke.

Avoid.

A higher class of restaurant on Oxford street. Exelent selection of entrees and mains including gluten free. Wait staff are attentive but could do with greater attention to detail with cutlery placement and setting down the meals. Other than that - highly recommended.

Had a bad run of restaurants, but finally hit a great one tonight. Every dish was delicious. We had the snails and beef tartare for our entre, and our mains were the duck pie and lamb rack. For dessert we had the cheese plate. Couldn't fault a single dish and the service was great.

Fabulous French fare with flair, yet with no arrogance in the air. Go the duck and pinot pie and you can thank me later. Seriously, I'm accepting thank yous as it is genuinely THAT delicious.

Wow....I dont think that words will be enough to tell how amazing was the experience at Le Salon: you really have to go and see it, feel it and sence it by yourself. That was one of the evening you will definetly remember!
Everyone who made this miracle happened, put so much effort and attention to details, we felt like dearest guests-who found a secret treasure.
It was much more than a diner, you could feel the sprincles of art and inspiration in the air. It is very special place.
I really want to thank everyone who looked after us and made this evening so memorable ! :-)

We reserved a table here for my wife s surprise birthday party for 4 and they didn t disappoint. The dining room was bright and elegant and the staff were very welcoming and professional across the board.

The only option that evening was a set menu (with options on all courses) for $85 which consisted or an Entree, Main and Dessert (or a cocktail in replacement of the dishes).

We had spent $185 the night before at a shockingly bad dinner at The Bentley Restaurant and Claire s kitchen was a standout in every department.

The entree of Steak Tartare came deconstructed with the elements finely positioned around the diced beef cubes. The waiter mixed them together along with the egg yolk to become a nicely balanced dish of richness and tanginess to match. It was perfect and the envy amongst other on the table. The three cheese souffle was light and rich and was the recommended dish by the waiter and the Dome of smoked salmon was perfectly accompanied by the crab and celeriac remoulade served with avocado dressing and brioche crouton.

What must be highlighted is that although this was a fixed menu price, every dish that came was not reduced in size as other restaurants would. Each dish that arrived stood out on it s own as if you had ordered it individually from the menu in terms of presentation and size.

The light hearted approach by staff made this French dining experience very warm and relaxed almost understating the excellent food that was made without compromise. We will definitely be back to one of the best quality and value French restaurants in Sydney.

Had a fabulous dining experience in the week .
They have a most extensive menu of modern and classic french dishes followed by a daily special dessert plate where you can choose a beautiful delight to finish the evening.
I would highly recommend this restaurant

Perfect.

Perfect.

2 friends and I caught up after 15 years having great food, wine and cocktails. Ambience and atmosphere was perfect for conversation and laughs.

Only let down was we had to leave at 12midnight before we could squeeze another drink in.

A place not to be missed when talking about Sydney French restaurants
Top 5, Top 10... Little Paris in Sydney

Was the expectation of the numerous praises and praises of various magazines referring to this friendly and atmospheric restaurant too high...

Is French cuisine too bad for my taste?

From the cheap baguettes that came out with pre-meal bread, the signature menus that I confidently recommended were all terrible, and even comparing the ingredients, cooking quality, and taste to similar famous restaurants such as Bistro Guillaume, Felix, and Rex, it was really ridiculously disappointing.

In particular, the pie itself was too chewy and had a bad texture, the duck didn't go well with the sauce, and the mutton was worse than that at a regular kebab restaurant.

It was also shocking to see that a restaurant with such a reputation sells French fries that are less than McDonald's.

There are various criteria when discussing fine dining, but for me, who focuses most on food, this is a place I don't want to go again.

Entrees were delicious, with bursting flavors and textures.
Mains were the perfect size, small portions of meat complemented with a light serving of vegetables.

Really nice restaurant! Beautiful settings and delicious food. If you are a group of five or more, you will get seated in the dramatic marble table. It s a bit intimidating but it adds to the experience. The set menu is worth it as well, and if you choose well, you can be full on the appetizer and main meal alone, and then get wine instead of desert.

I only write this review to warn others. So many good restaurants in Sydney, Clair's kitchen is hardly even worth my time writing about it.
I'll give it 2 stars instead of one because one out of the three starters we ordered was decent size and taste. Dry bread and cold food is not what I go out for. Horrible service as well.

Great food, better service, even better food!!! If you visit and don't fall in love with the place and atmosphere - ill be shocked, worth a first visit, every following visit will be history

Had a good one at first visit, but second visit was disappointing. Food turned up cold, and the wait for my food was 45 to 55 mins! Others who came later got their food before us. Not a good feeling. Nice ambience, friendly staff.

With Marc's assistance I organised a secret proposal for my now fiance. We hired the entire upstairs room for our 32 guests, which included a mic and sound system. The set menu was delectable - I've had people texting me and telling me how delicious the meals all were, and the drink menu was fantastic, from affordable wine to prestige cognac.

Marc was a gracious host and the staff were fantastic. I couldn't commend them more on the level of service they offered us - again, I received multiple comments from friends about how great they were.

The only hiccup of a missed order (partially due to people moving around) was quickly noticed and rectified with a fresh, hot meal and a free drink.

I can't rave enough. Claire's Kitchen will always have a special place in our venues from this weekend on, and I highly recommend it to anyone else who wishes to have a pleasurable evening.

One of my favourite places to eat in Sydney. Great atmosphere and friendly service . All the staff can speak English and French . Never had a bad dish . If you are after authentic delicious French food with a smile , look no further .

Also they have Caberet nights upstairs . Saw Matthew Mitcham last year for my birthday - amazing , such a talented young man.

Consistently the best restaurant in Sydney. We've been coming here for 10 years and it's always amazing. The prices are perfect for the quality of food and service, especially considering the price of pub food these days. A wonderful night out and the food melts in your mouth.

I have to admit that my reviews seem to be very direct, sharp and sound hard to take. But I also have to say it is not just for the sake of speaking out someone s genuine opinions. If you want to make a great restaurant you just have to accept all the opinions, positive or negative. Yes sadly the French cuisine this place makes is not my thing. I pay huge attention to the flavours. That part shall be reconsidered by the restaurant.

Dissapointed. The pros: restaurant is lovely. The desert creme brulee was delish albeit a bit too cold. It had a macaron as well. My partner had the lemon meringue which was nice and tasty.

The so so: we had the duck, it was ok nothing real special to be honest. It came with these weird fruits I thought was tomato but was bitter so I left it aside.

The not so good: the fries. We thought it was a block of salt with some chips around it. It was so salty it was inedible. Everyone got bread except us ..not sure that that was about.

Service was ok but nothing special. They seemed to serve the table next to us more. It was just a disappointment from my expectations as everyone is giving good reviews and all I wanted to do is have my anniversary dinner there. Would I come back.. probably not.

I was invited to this French restaurant to celebrate a wedding and it was fantastic. It is cosy and very well decorated. Both the staff and the bosses are very sympathetic and professional. The food was just perfect, from the entree to the dessert and my Chateaubriand was very tender and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended

One of Sydney's finest! We have been going to Claire's for years and this is one of our favourite restaurants. The food is spectacular, (you won't leave hungry, that's for sure!) the service is fabulous and the staff absolutely wonderful. Actually we will be back there tomorrow night again! Love this place and love Marc, Valentin, Aurelien, Rosa and the rest of the staff

One of the best beef tartare we ve ever had outside of Europe. Great location with a cosy ambience. The French food was delicious (we had a beef bourguignon).
You should go and try the Old Fashioned!
And the service was great: friendly, assistive and very professional.
Good COVIDsafe practising as well

Salon dada by Marc Kuzma takes you to an otherwordly dining experiece. It was very well executed from start to finish. Nothing about it is boring or out of place. This is something that you need to do at least once in your lifetime. Highly recommended!

Came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner, can't recommend enough. Service was friendly and helpful, great ambience (definitely good for a romantic evening) and the food is spectacular. The portion sizes are VERY generous and everything I had was delicious, especially the duck pie. Being able to get 1/3 or 2/3 of a bottle of wine is also very neat, but be aware that your options are a lot more limited that way as most of the wines are only available as a full bottle, at least with the whites. We still got one that we were quite happy with though after asking for recommendations and getting to do a small tasting. Definitely plan to come back, perhaps sometime when they're doing the cabaret show.
