Our whole family LOVES the SportsPlex!!! There are so many fun activities to do for kids, and we can all go and have a blast! Locker rooms are always clean along with the rest of the facility. The staff is great and always have a smile on their faces - even at 5am!

I went to the SportsPlex at a very busy time (which it's great to see the fantastic facilities being used). Since some classes were going on, a friend and I kept getting pushed out and had to find open spots. Two employees (should have gotten their names) were super helpful in making room and working with other people to give us an area. They definitely went above and beyond to help us out.

This place is only getting a 3 from me because I enjoy powerlifting and weightlifting, but if I wanted just a gym thats quiet, has cardio as well as weights to do general lifting, this would be my gym. Squat racks are too unstable to squat heavy in, no place to deadlift, but the whole place is very clean and has a lot of options to do other things for a worout like swimming, basketball, running on the huge track etc.

We attend the morning classes and love them! They are hard and challenging but the trainers are great. They bring a lot of variety to each class and push you to do your best and get better, stronger and more physically fit. The facility is also awesome. So many options for working out. We love it here!

The Sportsplex is nice, very clean, and overall a friendly staff. My issues though are that it is not very "non-member" friendly. By this, I mean that, if you are not a paying member (say you just want to purchase a day pass there) you're only allowed to be there until 4 PM. Secondly, while they are open early in the morning (I believe they open up at 5 AM) they close fairly early (8 PM). A personal opinion, but I feel it would be better if they were open a bit later, say 10 PM instead.

I enjoy going here, but I feel the Rec in cedar falls is a better option despite the sportsplex being newer

The cedarvalley sports plex gets a 1 star only because I have to give a star, they take my membership fees every month, I yet have been able to use facility at all. I work don't get home untill 5 pm, everything the sports plex has to offer for my 7 and 12 year old is closed down for some organized sport practice. Not that I have anything against organized sports, but the paying members that work all day are getting nothing for the money we pay every month. Unbelievable

So great to have a place like this in the Cedar Valley! Watched my nephew s spring baseball tournament, my daughter s volleyball camp and my nieces soccer practice. Such a well thought out useful arena for this area.

The facility is large, modern, & clean,. However, the pool hours. schedule, and management leave a lot to be desired.

After spending much of my life in pools, this one has some issues, the life guarding for example. It is only a matter of time before somebody is injured (or worse) due to the lack of adequate & assertive supervision. The behavior that was demonstrated last week by a group of adolescent males was reckless and unacceptable. It was certainly noted by several concerned parents there with younger children. Most concerning, it was not addressed at all by the female, teenage lifeguards on duty. One word of caution/warning to management -- liability!

Love watching the Court Kings play basketball here.. The best facility that we've been to of all the Midwest Basketball League games we've been to.
Gonna need more seating if the crowd continues to grow!

Expensive. Almost always booked by local schools which is fine but members rarely get to use all facilities anytime they want. There is a schedule to look at what's happening and plan accordingly but my issue is why should I plan and go when I am money to use facilities any time I want.... although the facilities provided are good.

A massive exercise/sports center in Waterloo. Has large track, really neat swimming pool w/water slide and lazy river, full-sized courts, multiple exercise rooms with well-stocked equipment, and exercise classrooms. A great benefit to the community.

A great gym filled with plenty of classes and activities for the whole family. Spin classes, yoga, self defense classes, water aerobics, pickle ball, the list goes on. They have a day care for members, and the location is perfect.

Love the amenities that come along with the membership. This place is and can be EVERYTHING!! It is what you make it. I've enjoyed the facility and loving the transformation I'm having but way of using this facility.

This place is a most welcome addition to the city of Waterloo. Modern, well-equipped, and large. However, the pool hours, and times for lap swimming are rather pathetic!

Edit: They seem to rent out the entire facility or the entire first floor (including courts/fields) for parties, closing it for dues-paying members. This happened two evenings in a short period recently. I find this to be most unusual and messed up.

I believe we are very fortunate to have a Sports Facility of this caliber in the Cedar Valley. The fitness classes offer a variety of activities to meet the needs of members of varying fitness levels, interests, and abilities. The instructors are well-trained, individualize instruction, as needed, and help keep participants motivated. The weight room, pool, walking/running track, gym, and field house are kept in excellent condition and further extend the opportunities for healthy lifestyle choices.

Great

Need more basketball courts and activities due to do for their community for free . And not these ridiculous rates of members. Get the kids off the street that should be their goal. That's a good way to help your community out kids come to the gym to play basketball or any activity there under the age of 16 it will stop the violence and and give the kids something to do during their out-of-school days

This is a great facility and there's so much to do.
They have a field to play catch, footbal, soccer or run around on. They have an awesome basketball court as well as a track that over looks the field.
They have lots of weights and machines to exercise with and they even have a pool with a water slide.

love it.

Its a YMCA...its literally that...someone told me to give it a try (i asked for a local gym), this is not a gym, this is a bad YMCA, tons of kids running around, trying not to run over em, they dont have a steam room or a dry sauna the pool is full of old ladies and little kids, and there is a schedule...for the pool....no thanks... also they dont provide towels for showering...i mean cmon! And it also closes....i like my gyms to be open 24/7 but then again this isnt really a gym now is it...the only reason i gave it more than 1 star is cuz they have some pretty cute ladies workin up front occasionally...

I have mixed feeling about the SportsPlex. I think they built a nice facility and I'm glad it exists, but their membership fees are steep and you HAVE to be a member to get much out of the place. The day passes "expire" at 4:30pm, which means you either have to be jobless or playing hooky to make it worth the $8. I hope the place stays solvent, but I won't be surprised if they end lacking the membership numbers they need.

I think its pretty disappointing a person and his son can't go for one day and workout even willing to pay the ridiculous price of 8 for an adult and 5 for a kid for day passes. You shouldn't have to be a member or purchase a punch pass for 75 dollars to go there for one day on the weekend. Love the facilities our tax dollars got for the community to not have access to.

Great gym, clean and orderly every time I've visited, am not a member so do not visit often, do however take my kids here for swim lessons, and have been more than happy with the instructors for the swim classes.
