Food was good but chips not really good and service was good.

Very good food for a decent price. Prices look suprisingly low, but keep in mind the steaks are served without any side-dish. It's plains steaks on a plate. So you'll have to order one or possibly two side-dishes to make a complete meal. The hamburgers are an excellent choice, which make a full meal with only one side-dish for me (I kind of eat a lot).
Overall I had a good time, the place is nice and cosy but maybe a bit too modern for me.

A meat restaurant located in the alley in front of the royal palace. The meat is good, and the salad we ordered together is fresh, even the dessert recommended by her friendly friend. Although there is no price point, considering the tourist center, it is acceptable

If you order steak, you will eat only and lonely steak... the meals does not have side dish but meat is really delicious...

Amazing food!!!
Very friendly server who had no problem at all to fulfill our special burger order. Each part of this dinner was scrumptious: the coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and well seasoned. Definitely the best I've ever had. Corn was delicious, well seasoned and hot, onion rings huge and crunchy, far away from being greasy. Both meat pieces were cooked to perfection and presented with love. The beer and glass of wine (south african zinfandel) were beautiful and delicious. Our server filled up our tap water regularly and was ver patient with us not being able to chose from the amazing menu.
Toilets were clean and very nice, albeit down a narrow stair case. One tiny negative was that the aircon made the room just a bit too cold.
An absolute must go back!

Serves the best steak sandwich in the wider area, for which we specially come from Zwolle. The cocktails are certainly not wrong. It is quite busy, since it is in the middle of the center of Amsterdam. For the most part, staff does not speak Dutch, which is not entirely surprising in itself. Service is always top. The only criticism is that the toilets of misery are about to fall apart.

This is the restaurant in which I found the best steak I have ever eaten. I had a rib eye and it was the most gorgeous melt in the mouth steak I have ever had. The sides are all delicious and the decor is modern and quirky.

Just a wonderful place and food. We are here every year. Noisy due to the huge number of people and there is a queue for entry. But the steaks, pork ribs and fish .... just awesome!

The burgers are a little undercooked to Canadian standards but the atmosphere and location was great. Average pricing for a restaurant downtown.

The food here is delicious. I sampled the twice cooked pork belly one evening then the rib eye steak on another, both were exemplary. The staff are really friendly too.

The food and the staff were amazing. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, the process of ordering and receiving food and drinks was very fast. The food was very tasty and filling, and there was a large cocktail selection which pleased my girlfriend. Highly recommend.

Food was just okay, but they need to be more polite and have more attention ... Starter was forgotten, and then they brought the wrong one, forgot to order one of the main courses so one of our friends had to look at us eating while waiting for his... The final bill came charging 2 beers that we didn't order... AND when paying by credit card the card machine had no paper, so they added the paper and wanted to charge us again because the receipt wasn't printed the first time... We had to explain several times that they could just print the last payment, but they didn't take it nicely, took quite a while to find the confirmation, to stop accusing and start apologizing

Great food and our hostess was eager to please even difficult guests. She even made a White Russian for me.

The steak we ordered was 500 g rib eye with chimichuri sauce on top to share.. oh my god it was so juicy .. good appetizer s as well .. and we had the best waiter super friendly from Brazil I think his name was Emilio. We will definitely go again

Let's get this straight, the food is decent, actually quite good. However, the ambience is terrible, dark, more club than restaurant and freezing air conditioning. The staff is helpful but trained to up sell you anything. Including 5,25euros for a bottle of water and 1,50euro for the sauce. I mean, I understand the restaurant policy but serving a 20euro steak alone on an empty plate and charge for literally everything else is not good. Ah, the music is so loud you almost cannot talk to each other. It's a shame because some potential is there. Borderline tourist trap.

The food was great the starter and main course the meat was grilled to request it was tender and juicy. The main course doesnt come with any sides. There are plenty sides to choose from and costs about 5 euros each.

I would not recommed the icecream dessert it is more icy than smooth.

Although the place is huge and packed with people it is cosy and comfy.

The veggies was not prepared good.

The service was quick but strange at the same time. As they take plates from table without asking !!

Nice staff, nice ambiance, great service and great food. Totally worth it.

Came to CAU to have a nice dinner, as we were tired of typical Amsterdam street food. Made reservations for 20:00. We were sat quickly with a street view, which are reserved for people who make reservations. Chatted with Vangelis our waiter about the food and wine suggestions. He was great and gave us a taster of a recommendation. We ordered the Tira De Ancho (med. rare), grilled corn and truffeled mac. Steak came as ordered, corn was a highlight (sweet, spicy), Mac was good. CAU describes the Tira steak sauce as a chimichurri. We didn't get chimichurri, we got onion salsa. This salsa didn't make the steak taste better. We scraped it off as the steak itself was tasty.

The low was the onion salsa and fact that there were a lot of patrons in street clothes. We felt that CAU should require a higher standard that matches their atmosphere and menu.

Food in actually i.O., however catastrophes staff. After we were served unfriendly, the waiter did not even want to change a five euro note, because he did not want my small change (tip and exchange for note). It was said that he can do nothing with change.

Excellent meat! we ordered hamburgers - one with portebello mushroom, the other bbq. Both were excellent. The meat soft and juicy, the flavor balanced and rich. For side dishes we took the fries and coldslow, which were fine (nothing to write about). We feel we got very good value for our money (about 70 euros, with desserts and multiple alcohol rounds).

Definitely the BEST meat in town. Service is very nice. Avoid peak hours....

Good atmosphere and location,the food was nothing special but good(a bit expensive)...the service at first impact looked good,but at the moment of payment they start to make pressure about tips,while giving us the bill,and while paying with the card the waitress charged 10% without mention it...i was thinking to leave tips to her before that,but she was incorrect with this move
