I love the personal little touches that Town offers. The personalized birthday menu, the quick response to a slightly strange request, the understanding and compensation when you're not satisfied with a dish. The list goes on. But more than anything, I love the food, the cocktails and the wine list. Oh, and the service, but I think you got that already. You just can't go wrong here. I'm always surprised at how busy this place is, so make a reservation well in advance!
Amazing:
Scallops with risotto.. would get that risotto again, the subtle truffle flavor is addictive!
Tomato bisque.. the pesto on to is awesome.
Bread pudding.. amazing sauce
Good:
Shaking beef.. solid beef quality. Liked the daikon on it too
Wonderfully cooked steaks and sides. Good kids menu and activities; definitely not an afterthought. Most steaks included choice of two sides.
This is a great spot for brunch on the weekend, the breakfast sandwich is awesome. Morning cocktail selection covers everyone's tastes. Make sure you have a reservation as the weekends are all ways busy, elevated booths make it a little difficult if you have a stroller.
Nice place for dining. It might fuel your demand for appetite. Natural chef is there.
Who ever was the chef saturday july 27th overcooked the lobsters, all 4 of them. Tasted good, but tough to eat. Service was good, loved the atmosphere.
Fantastic meal, great drinks, sitting outside was great, it was a wonderful experience all around.
Good breakfast place. The steak and eggs was great. The Bay club omelette was subpart though, it was a bit tasteless. The waffles were ok but could have been better also. The best dish of the place was the chocolate French toast, it was on the small side but tasted great. The place is large but a bit full also so expect medium speed speed service. Overall good experience with headlamps sitting outside in winter even. Will come here again.
Very busy place! It took a while to be seated for our 8:30 reservation, then too long of a wait to be acknowledged and ask for water. Once our server got to us he did a great job. The food was very good, but pricey. The Teriyaki Skirt Steak and the Rib Eye were both fantastic! The chocolate sundae was the best we've had! Drinks and wine were also delicious.
Great bar, indoor and outdoor dining, very good food. Will award fifth star when brunch is available daily (for the fabulous breakfast sandwich).
Great food, great service and great desserts. Been here a couple of times and never disappointed. Bread pudding to die for. You need to make reservations so you don't have to wait. Parking is a challenge due to lots of restaurants nearby. Will be back...
Awesome as always! We just had brunch their this morning and I think it is on par with their lunch and dinner menus in my opinion.
Great restaurant in San Carlos. I sat down to watch the Warrior's game here and sat at the bar. Service was quick and friendly. Mixed drinks were top notch and the crowd was fun.
Always amazing food and service!! They truly remember you after you come a few times.
Good food and drinks. A little expensive. Great place to celebrate birthdays!
This place came to me by reccomenfation, and it was amazing. Great service, excellent food (Philly rolls and classic French dip). High marks!!!
Amazingly good food and drink at amazingly high prices. Laurel street parking can be challenging.
Great spot in San Carlos! We live right around the corner from their sister restaurant in RWC, Milagros, and the Town was a much more diverse menu offering. Their Red Beer was phenomenal and the food was delicious!
I love Town it's my go to go spot when visiting San Carlos.
One of my favorite restaurants in the bay. Their steak never disappoints. Get the creamed spinach!
I love the food, the service, the vibe, & the mimosas!! I tried the bread pudding for the 1st time & it was delicious
Located right smack in the middle of San Carlos downtown, Town is a quintessential steakhouse/bar/happy hour joint/sports bar, and then some. The atmosphere is balanced -- heavy and woody, but spunky and chattery at the same time. The staff is efficient and attentive, but don't expect professional service, the service is casual.
The food is more than decent. We got ahi tuna sashimi salad, warm cabbage salad, and shared a NY strip steak. All three were good -- nicely executed, but salty...
All in all, impressed with the venue and food, and will come back to try other concoctions for sure.
I always love coming here. Food is delicious and the staff is friendly.
This is my go-to brunch spot with friends. Every time I have gone, everyone is impressed with the quality of the food. They make an amazing chilaquiles and have tasty coffee and drink options as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating where you can enjoy the quaint views of Laurel st.
Food was great. Sizable portions. Tasty cocktails. We sat at the counter and we watched the chef and cooks work their magic. Next time we'll want to try the tables.
I had lunch at Town last Thursday October 3 with a friend. My selection was Dungeness Crab sandwich. The crab was absolutely not fresh and very cold and soggy. I have had generally good experience at Town but my visit this time was disappointing. So the reason for 2 stars.
Service was pretty good! For the price though, the food didn t live up to expectations. It would ve been good at a lower cost restaurant. Might be back here in future to give it another shot.
I've been here only twice, but both times were delicious. The garlic bread is something magical, like thick garlic pizza without tomato sauce. I had the burger once, which was yummy, though huge. Then I recently had the ahi salad, which was soooooo good. The quality of the tuna was outstanding. And they do not skimp on the other ingredients, like many restaurants. The service is also great, which makes the whole experience just right.
Enjoyed the Fish Tacos w/fries. Delicious taste, good portion and good service during lunchtime hour.
If you like American food, this is the place to go. The plates are large and very filling. The menu had some odd options, however. There was sushi randomly in the menu and that threw me off a bit. I think the appetizer menu could be improved. Overall there wasn't a ton of options to choose from, but the food that we order was delicious. It wasn't memorable, so I won't be going back, but I do recommend it.

Great food and service, but somewhere steep prices.
This is on a Sunday. Great onviance, outdoor seating, service was good. Been there many times. I usually order New York steak (better meatier beef, less fat, and superior taste and texture). Decided to give the rib-eye steak a try-rare, which was more expensive, very fatty, less meaty taste and texture was more chewy. Comes with two sides that I recommend everything is good. Drinks are reasonable. Street parking is fairly easy to find.
Brunch was good and service was fine. Might give it 5 stars when we try it for dinner.
Consistently good food and service. Enjoy sitting outside with our dog.
I went here for lunch with colleagues. We had a pretty easy time parking behind the restaurant where there is a parking lot where we found a space about 100 yards from the back door. We had a reservation so we quickly sat down at our table. The wait staff was very efficient and very friendly. The prices were fairly steep. I had a French dip sandwich which was $23. It was very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice mostly booths. The sandwich was very good the french fries were very good and we also had bread putting for dessert which was very good. All in all it was a good experience and I would recommend this restaurant. Just be prepared to pay a premium for a sandwich.
Really great delicious food, especially the steak that's worth the money. Can be very crowded and hard to find though.
Easily a 5-star place! From the moment my partner and I arrived, we were treated very well. Our server was friendly and patient, but also went that extra mile to make us feel welcomed.
As for the food... it was no less awesome than the service. Get the Garlic bread while you re there, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Get the truffle butter with it, and the Mac and Cheese was unbelievable!
My partner and I were food-comatosed by the end of the entree, but that bread pudding looked and sounded amazing... an excuse to come back!
We will be back! Probably sooner than later!

Great food, and service, first time there and had a fabulous time. Will be back soon!
Great place if you're craving red meat. It's conveniently located to us, and low key (unlike other snobbier establishments in SF or south bay), while serving up tasty cuts of steak.
Top notch food and customer service...I definitely will be having dinner here again soon...
Good place to eat brought my dad here I liked my plate close to caltrain
Favorites:
- Chilaquiles

Get there early or expect to wait. If you're like me and have no friends, you may be lucky enough to get seated right away (e.g. at the chef's table).
The server was quick to get my order, and the food was prepared just as fast.
The prime rib was fantastic, and everything was very well cooked and seasoned. I highly recommend their banana pound cake, which is made in-house.
They have a high price point, but it's worth it for the quality and quantity of food.
Definitely a must for a date night or a celebration, but I would leave the kids at home.
My step mom is not a vegetarian, like me, and loves going to this restraunt. Why? I dont know because the quality of the food doesn't match its price. Most of the stuff they serve can be made better at home and at a lower cost. As a vegetarian TRYING to find SOMETHING to eat here is difficult. Their pasta's are so-so. Wether you eat meat or not, I dont recommend this place. There are much better restraunts than Town.
Best take in the peninsula. Love the outdoors experience
I think this place over rated usually. The food is good, the drinks but are weak and often small. Appears to have become a pickup joint as much as an after work site for professionals.
Amazing food venue in a well-hidden downtown of San Carlos. Excellent service and steaks. For a fancy night out consider Town. And get a res
Nice menu selection. Awesome bar. A bit noisy at peak hours. Great staff!
Service was great, cocktails on point, but the steak was still mooing. I ordered rare and got a seared steak tartare. Server graciously returned it to the kitchen to get the purple cooked to at least a reddish hue.
Classic salmon, tasted fresh and delicious. The french dip tasted kind of odd.
Consistent good food. Steaks, bbq, fish etc. Teriyaki skirt steak is a must try.
Ambiance was wonderful. Good was Delicious. They were accommodating to my dietary needs. Make sure to make a reservation don't just walk in.
Nice place to meet for drinks. Popular neighborhood restaurant serving well-conceived menus..
My favorite restaurant on the Peninsula. Never had a bad dish here, service is always great.
Service was a little slow at the bar. I ordered the prime rib, and it came out far too overcooked - check the picture. I should have sent it back, but at the prices they ask I am surprised it made it out. The salad was fantastic.
