Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick Review

Had a beautiful afternoon tea here, the staff were excellent and the setting was lovely.

Great breakfast and leisure facilities but beds needs attention. Definitely not worth 4 stars!! 3 stars if.. To bad coz we really enjoyed pool..

Loved my stay here in hotel could not fault a thing from room to service was just 100% only regret was not there long enough to get to go for a swim will go back

We stayed here for 2 nights 18th to 20th October 2013.
The staff were polite and friendly; service was with a beaming smile. On the first night we were treated to some folk singing by the locals in the super pub like bar. The next night we attended a wonderful wedding reception there where they catered for a wedding of nearly 300 people and the food was great. The entertainment continued until 02:30 and we finally got to our beds at about 05:00, exhausted but very pleased. Everyone seemed to be happy and they welcomed us as if we were close relatives. The room was well equipped with tea facilities, a bar, TV, phone and a separate clean bathroom. Would love to go again someday. The hotel featured other pampering facilities such as pool gymnasium included in the cost.

Castletroy Park Hotel - Limerick, where do i start....we started planning our wedding about a year ago, trapsing & trawling through loads of different hotels & venues, till we came across this Gem, from first meeting with nicola,(we booked there & then) to all & any organisation, we dealt with both nicola & aiden (they had taken so much pressure off us) they were a dream to deal with, its rare i would say it, but their service, attention to detail and one to one was simple superb, seemless & true professionalisim, most weddings are a great day, especially for the bride & groom, Ours was The Best Day Ever! Not only for us, our two kids, but everyone (literally every person) who attended the day, said from drink reception, ceremony, meal and evening fun, that the Hotel & All its staff were at the centre of it all (unseen & in the backround) their friendly attention to each & every guest was a pleasure to get feedback from our guests, as said, its rare i overly praise anything or anyone, but the two main staff members we dealt with - Nicola & Aiden, we both born to do what they do - when you see someone doing their job with such ease because not only is it a job, they love & enjoy doing it, this in turn makes all their hotel patrons at such ease especially at big occasions such as weddings... i'll finish with a big big heartfelt thank you to both of them & entire hotel, from myself & emma.

Loved this hotel for leisure facilities, a catch up over a coffee for business or pleasure and great for Sunday lunch.

Had an overnight stay as I was working in Limerick. Fast efficient on the desk, great value for money, upgraded upon arrival, dinner in The Brasserie Bar was amazing. Staff all up to scratch on Covid 19 protocal. Mixed crowd in the hotel, I suggest asking for a quiet room at the minute with lots of staycations happening.

Went for a meal after a funeral, table's sperated all staff wearing masks . very nice friendly staff food very nice I will definitely go back again to stay. Parking was great lovely we'll run hotel

Love this spot! I meet here regularly with friends for coffee. Staff are very friendly and service is quick. The selection of pastries to go with coffee is very good!

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel has a great and welcoming atmosphere, is very quiet, clean and traditional. Just the one meal tasted strange-but was immediately replaced by another one upon my wish, so it is alright. Nice beers and spirits at the bar. I would always go there again.

Just back from a few nights stay, from the minute you walk in with the all the covid safety measures you feel very safe, staff are very friendly, food is lovely, rooms are spotless, always someone going around cleaning, will definitely be back soon.

Suites are quite big, really modern and clean. Food in the restaurant is fabulous.

Staff were very friendly and rooms were clean & spacious. Very reasonable price and seemed to be a good place for a family stay. Would be happy to return.

Had a wonderful Afternoon Tea recently, very well presented and such lovely and friendly staff. Covid procedures were very well in place and adhered to by any person we saw. Very well done, and felt very safe and comfortable.

Beautiful hotel so close to the University it's brilliant. Son spent 4 years in Limerick University studying engineering and it is so handy right across from main entrance to University

I stopped by on a flying visit to UL. Great location if you want to access the university.

The night porter blamed me when my card didn't work for my door.
They tried to double charge me for breakfast and weren't quick to revert once I showed them the booking email.

Bed and room were comfy, although it did take me ages to work out how to turn off the heating. Also, there were no sockets beside the bed for charging my phone.

It's a lovely Hotel, spotless, welcoming, with impeccable service too! However, the Gym, which is both compact and very functional is infested with the scurge of "Facebook Fitness Freeks" Idiots that bring their mobile phones and headphones in to the Gym!!! You'll notice the "Zombie Like" state of most users of the Gym here, Setting on and Hogging, Gym Equipment, while updating their Facebook Profiles!!! while some of us wait patiently, for them to simply move on eventually.... The ignorance and "sense of entitlement" to keep others waiting indefinitely, while I sit on the gym equipment, is breathtaking here. No point in trying to talk to them either... they can't here you with their Pom Pom ear mufflers, apparently YOUR the problem!! Another cohaurt of idiots here follow "Facebook Workouts" while in the gym... Zombied out in there own little world listening to the every word, of some "drink of water, fitness expert" on their headphones on max volumn! Youll witness overweight men with headphones doing the most ridiculous!! Yoga poses or martial art (type) ahem... "exercises" I predict, somebody will get seriously injured here some day not too soon, unless some common sense gym management is applied here. I a smal compact Gym!!! But a good one!!! Suggest BAN MOBILE PHONE, AND HEADPHONES from the Gym! Gyms are for "Working Out / Exercise" NOT to be used as some sort of "Internet Cafe" its a downright dangerous and stupid practice! Get some propper gym management in their Immediately please.Teach newbies to [TRAIN PROPERLY] !!!! No phones, no Headphones, BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, and the safety of other users, do your set, and move the f@@@ on immediately!!! Learn how to "Super Set" and "Fall In" with other users. Not the time to be on "Facebook!!!" A decent Gym Manager, should know how to fix this place. Nothing wrong with the equipment here, New equipment is now necessary, its the Facebook idiots hogging the place, thats the problem. Please FIX IT Cph!! RANT OVER.

A really nice hotel and a perfect location for the university.
I stayed here before a meeting at the university, great location.
The food in the bar is top notch, I can highly recommend the Chicken and Cashew nut stir fry, super flavourful.
The gym is OK if you're into cardio, plenty of treadmills and bikes. Not too many free weights.
Breakfast is the normal fare of hot and cold offerings.

Just home after a 3 night stay - excellent hotel and service. I was a little apprehensive about going just after lockdown - but, the organisation was superb and social distancing was easy. The food was great and reasonably priced - staff could not have been more helpful and all vey pleasant! A power cut last night, and still out this morning when we left - but again- the effort put in by all staff was exemplary and we still managed to have a cooked breakfast! 10/10.

Nice hotel with good sized suites. Leisure area is a bit dated & the pool is quite shallow but that would be my only criticism. Child friendly & good food.

A hotel with a deserved 4 very well prepared staff. Amazing memories. Delicious food. I recommend the option with breakfast. Dogs welcome.

Coffee mornings on 2 different days. Excellent service. Large selection of elevenses with offers of scones / sandwiches if desired. Reasonably priced. Unhurried. Most enjoyable.

Great rooms and food has been amazing at the hotel. Beautiful grounds, gym and pool. Staff has been 10/10 . If you are coming to the area, this is a great hotel to stay in. We were able to walk to a few places too.

Excellent attention to detail. Rooms lovely and very clean. Felt so safe in relation to Covid as staff and management all about hygiene and loved the temp scanner.

Everything was perfect. I had a suite and I highly recommend them. Service-incredible. In spite of covid limitations they still managed to be kind and welcoming.

Favorite hotel in Limerick. Might be better starred hotels but this is always a very friendly hotel to stay at and is local to limerick with lots of parking. It has its own pool which is always quiet. Couldn't be more positive about here.

I defintely recommend the Castletroy Park Hotel. It is in a great location and the hotel itself is really impressive from its decoration, to its food and its lovely and helpful staff. Had lunch in the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. Staff went out of their way to be helpful too. Really enjoyed my time there and will be back again.

We use the hotel for parties. Had two there this week. Both different in style of service. We used to go to another local hotel but stopped when their standards of service declined and I wonder if this hotel is going the same way. Not enough bar servers or table staff. No one seemed to want to cut the cake and hand it out. Rather disorganised.

Love this place. Wait staff can be a tiny bit inattentive when the bar/restaurant is busy in the evening but that's the only complaint. The breakfast buffet goes above and beyond and they'll even make you something from the menu if you prefer. The gym and pool area are lovely and well equipped and the staff are all very friendly. The rooms are very comfy and well maintained. Am already looking forward to my next visit!

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff is very helpful and kind. The room was so spacious and with the summer being as hot as it is this year the AC was an added bonus.
The breakfast menu is has plenty of variety there is something for everybody swimming pool was great and changing rooms are very hygenic will book here again.

Nothing but good things to say. Was there for a week at the end of July. Rooms are comfortable and the staff is welcoming and helpful. Bar is and restaurant are top shelf. Would recommend this hotel to family.

We just had the brunch box as a Valentine's weekend with our 3 children, what a super treat, so tasty, really well presented, great value! Will definitely be ordering again!

Shocked in this day and age that each cube of sugar is in an individual plastic non recyclable wrapper!! Service is great, place is nice but come on guys, get with the times.
