Only meeting in lobby so can't rate it properly when not staying
Have to say theres not one thing we could we could fault . Outstanding from check-in to check-out
Reilly nice spot, highly recommend. Above and beyond what we'd normally book for work purposes and wasn't expecting the dress code.
Live and learn
Lovely hotel and staff are great. Good breakfast and the bar food was lovely. Pool is nice and you can take a nice walk over to the golf course club house for food
Great experience, staff (marco) extremely attentive and polite.
Great hotel and great bar and restaurant. The outside area is great too spend a couple of hours with the family. Kids play in the playground while grown-ups can have a meal. The spa is also very good and the swimming pool is great for the kids.
The last review was wrong,i meant to put 5 stars.I found staff lovely, hotel gorgeous and food fabulous Would highly recommend
Best hotel i have stayed in in Dublin over the last 10 years , absolutely no complaints
Hotel is OK could be better for a 5star. Some 3 star hotels have better breakfast
I have stayed several times before and had mo issues. However, this time the food was really off, the room was fine though. The first night the was overly salty so I couldn't eat much of it, then I had an upset tummy the following night that woke me at 3 with stomach cramps, Wasn't much better the following morning. The rooms and all are good and some building work is currently underway. Hopefully next time I stay the food will be back to its usual standard.
Fancy place to stay or having just a nice afternoon tea.
Plenty of choice on the food side.
The location is surrounded for green, there is a nice playground for kids and the staff is very welcoming.
Very very good service. Spa, restaurant are highly recommended
Slow service at the bar. But pint is good. And good live music, singer with guitar at weekends
What a gorgeous hotel with excellent staff. The pool area is lovely enough. Could do with another Jacuzzi. Especially when you have a group that hog it for a hour. Bedroom was spacious and the cleaners did such a thorough job every day. Our bathroom had a separate bath and shower , and the floors were heated. The breakfast had a lovely variety, but could have done with vegetarian sausages.
I've stayed in the Castleknock Hotel a few times now but the most recent stay was somewhat of a letdown.
I had originally booked a room for my girlfriend's birthday for Sunday 19th April. Due to the current pandemic this booking was cancelled and I re-booked for Saturday 4th July.
I informed the staff that this booking was for a belated birthday celebrationand received a free upgrade to an Executive Room.
When arriving at the room door in the hallway there way a seal to be broken (which meant the room had been cleaned thoroughly). In the room there was Butlers chocolates and a card from the hotel staff, which was a nice touch.
When pulling back the duvet on the bed we noticed the sheets and pillows had not been changed. There was multiple brown stains found. This was also the case for the hand towel in the bathroom. This was totally unacceptable given the situation with the Covid 19 pandemic and partially ruined the celebration. For the price paid for the booking the least you'd expect is a clean room.
We spoke with Reception who arranged to have the sheets changed while we had our dinner in the bar. No apology was given the first time from the man on Reception, which was unprofessional. Before having desert I went up to check the room, around 9.30pm. The sheets and hand towel had been changed but one of the stained pillow cases hadn't been. I immediately reported this to Reception. One of the managers informed me that their room cleaning was up to standard. We were given a new room (upgrade to Deluxe Executive). The room wasn't substantially different to the previous, the main thing was we now had clean sheets and towels. I don't feel that a room upgrade was enough for the inconvenience as the stained sheets caused unnecessary stress and we couldn't fully enjoy our night.
I can't fault the hotel for everything else as the food was nice, bar staff were very helpful and social distancing practices were in place. It's a shame about the original room as it's always a pleasure to stay in the hotel.
The room is spacious but without air conditioning. This makes the nights very uncomfortable on the hottest days. Asked before arrival for a room that does not face parking due to. noise and health problems. Was promised that one would take into account this. The room we are allocated is located opposite the employee parking / goods reception / waste management and break area. Thus, there is noise all the time, and our non-smoking room stinks of cigarette smoke.
The service in the restaurant (22bar & restaurant) is almost non-existent. A couple of nice and attentive waiters save the meal, but not the overall impression. Breakfast is perfectly fine. Enough food to get full, but I would probably have expected something more in a 4 star hotel. We often sat with the table full of used plates when they were not taken on their way past.
Both at morning and customer service, I observed unhygienic cleaning and table setting. Cloths that were used on the table and chair around each other and on to the next table. The cloth also fell to the floor, was picked up and used on a new table. You then go directly from having this cloth in your hands to taking in cutlery and glasses.
Cleaning the room is almost a joke. Mostly the vacuum cleaner has not been inside the door, and several times cloths and shower soap etc. are missing.
The pool area is clean and nice but needs upgrading - like the rest of the hotel.
Location perfectly fine for those who want peace. Easy to get around the city with Leap card on bus, luas and train.
The hotel does not live up to expectations and we will choose another hotel next time we come to Dublin.
Stayed here as our base and played Castleknock and Lutterells.
I preferred Castleknock lots of water on front 9 so take plenty of balls.
The Clubhouse was fantastic and good value for money.
The Course was immaculate and suited my game with some great holes especially the 10th which I birdied lol.
Why would they not do a shuttle bus from Hotel to Club house ?
The Hotel was fantastic as well he staff couldn't do enough for you, breakfast buffet one of the best I've seen ever.
If I had one complaint it would be we couldnt get in our rooms and nowhere other than toilets to change clothes as I travelled in civies and changed to golf gear in toilet.
Lovely hotel been there few times and I can recommend it.
The bar is a bit grubby and the staff are not the friendliest. Average selection of beers on tap and it is expensive also. I'd probably not go back here again.
Rang this Hotel today 4/2/19 to book a room one night a week for the next seven months for work. Made the call at 17.54 to be precise only to be told by reception/ reservation il take ur number and ring you back.
Am still waiting for this phone call. Now 23.10
4/2/19. Never again!!!!!
Very family friendly hotel for having an afternoon coffee
Nice experience but the room we want as clean as i tot it would be so 3 stars staff was very nice
Very nice room, attentive staff. Fab breakfast and a good lunch too.
Fantastic Hotel with it's own golf course steam room swimming pool and hospitality
Really clean warm spaced rooms
All staff wearing protective masks, screens up everywhere and sanitizer placed everywhere
This hotel couldn't do more for covid 19
Facilities are excellent and roomy. I particularly like the modern feel to the building. While dinner service was slow the food was absolutely beautiful.
Wireless internet was excellent also (PW required from reception)
A bit of tricky spot to get to but once there all is well. Finally its an FBD hotel and they make sure as hell that you know that. The FBD logo is printed literally on everything which annoyed me a little.
I used the pool, sauna and jacuzzi and all were excellent.
Pokoje czyste mi a obs uga
A jedzenie w restauracji smaczne
I arrived at this hotel with my husband and our 1 year old daughter when we booked we told them that we would need a travel cot for our daughter and when we went to the room I was appauled to see the travel cot was absolutely filthy it was just disgusting and there was no mattress in it I called reception and asked if they had another cot I was not letting my daughter sleep in such a filthy cot. They did bring me another cot which wasn't as bad but they had no mattresses for the travel cots they said so I had to ask for a blanket to put at the bottom of cot so she didn't have to sleep on the hard board at bottom of cot. Also there are time restrictions on swimming pool times for kids and these didn't suit so for the 3 days we stayed my child only got 40 mins in the pool out of these 3 days wouldn't recamend this hotel for family's
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Beds were a bit hard for my tastes. Very filling breakfast buffet.
Had chicken wrap to eat flavours great however warm wrap cold chicken !! Not good STAFF great
The Park Restaurant in the hotel serves one of the best food in Dublin
I attended a retail conference here. Staff were friendly and grrat facilities.
Great hotel for a wedding. Had a great day at Emma and Alans Wedding
Very disappointing for afternoon tea. 30 for coffee and one finger slice of sandwich ( egg/mayo) on hard bread, one miniature quiche, miniature petit fours. Definitely over priced for what was provided. Never again
Beautiful hotel, was spotless clean. I especially enjoyed the breakfast was very delicious and also the staff where amazing especially a young lady Lisa who I thought went above and beyond the call of duty when helping myslef and my family.
EXCELLENT. Four years ago, this hotel was on a turn - for the worse. Getting a little bit tired and sticky. A recent visit saw refurbishments that have lifted it right back up on to the top of the 4 star leaderboard.
Spotlessly clean and spacious rooms. Bath and separate shower in each bathroom. Everything you need in each room for a comfortable stay. Bar food on night one was exceptional. One of the best burgers I've eaten in a long time. Beautiful presentation and taste. A REAL burger. Restaurant staff are very good and efficient. Self service Breakfast in the bright dining room was good except for the juice choice. All three of the juices were very bad quality. The only other issue with this hotel for visitors without their own car is location. It's out in the suburbs. However with our own car we were into the city centre in 25 minutes. There must be public transport options. Staff will give you those details.
There was a wedding on the Saturday night of our stay, but we did not hear any sound from it when we went to bed. Exceptionally quiet sleep and those amazing pillows did help.
Nice indoor leisure centre with pool and exceptional gym. The only thing they need to upgrade now is the outdoor childrens playground which is very muddy and basic.
Overall - top notch.
Agree, staff very helpful. Everything spot on we are very impressed. Will come back again.
Staff is nice and friendly. At first impression, it is a good looking luxury hotel with nice and clean interior. The room itself is spacious and clean and a nice place to be.
I would have loved to be able to set the temperature myself.
But the food quality is not in relation with the price. Food is low quality but rather expensive. In fact, I believe Castleknock needs a chef: I don't believe they have one at this moment.
Breakfast could appreciate real orange juice.
There is some noice from the highway that enters the room when it is quiet inside, especially on the left wing.
I also had a nice view on all the garbage/waste containers. So avoid room 151 :-).
9.60 for a small glass of malbec this is a four star hotel with rubbish left in corridors since we arrived 8 hours ago. Not the Merrion.
Nice quiet hotel. Very good breakfast from the buffet. The rooms are larger in size than normally expected and some with bath and shower. In the evening you can visit in the neighborhood pubs the tourist free -. opposite the entrance through the gate in the fence and then straight ahead.
Arrived late to the hotel and really hungry! Asked a staff if we could get a drink and he happily said yes and brought us over to the bar. The man behind the bar said sorry were closed @ 12:10 but they were suppose to serve until 12:30. Eventually the first man we approached had words and we were allowed to order a drink.
We were told room service operates all night for sandwiches, but when we rang they said they were closed for the night so went without food. Other than that, the hotel was lovely and the breakfast was gorgeous. Swimming pool was also great as well. Rooms were average, and it was a pity the bar staff wasn t very accommodating. Overall however it was grand, just come earlier next time!
Very nice, well kept and nice food. Good golf course if you're into that.
We stayed in this hotel twice already. The first stay was amazing. This 2nd stay was not the same...we stayed in Room 162 for 1 night 2 weeks ago. On arrival, water in the shower not that hot.shower rail broken..iron marking on the carpet...water leaking from the shower that goes out to the entire bathroom floor..had room service meal but forks given were not that clean..
No problem with reception staff. Their manager Silvano was very helpful.
Fabulous hotel set on fabulous grounds with fabulous staff and food.. Just fabulous :)
stayed here just before christmas, family friendly hotel, big room, very clean and accomodating staff..my 3 year old daughter enjoyed the swimming pool..coming back this feb
Incredible wedding here in August myself and my husband were so happy with the entire hotel and staff, but a special thank your to Julie you truly are amazing and made our day soooo special thank you.
Mr and Mr Dallas
I feel this hotel needs some work on their rooms. The reception is great. But I m not wowed by the rooms.
Super cool hotel! Clean, spacious room, breakfast perfect and very nice staff! The best hotel on our tour.
Absolutely to be recommended.
Stayed for our last night in Ireland. Wanted to be close to the airport (but not to close ) for an early flight and we had a fabulous stay. The view from the room was only ok BUT the hotel was AMAZING!!! The staff we encountered were all friendly and efficient BUT the bar manager Andrew truly made our night. He went above and beyond and saved our evening after a mistake we had made. Didn t have a chance to make it to the pool which is a huge bummer but loved the hotel and would 100% recommend!!! (Ask for a room with a view )
Good location; good food. Lots of parking; gym with pool on-site.
Golf course on-site too.
One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in in Ireland, we stayed in the suite it was magnificent with a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. We just had food in the bar which was fine Great hotel for a quiet breakaway
Good value good food very friendly staff especially in the 22bar
Amazing stay in the hotel , everything was perfect , food was great staff was great and lovely waitress Charlene who went out of her way to look after us and very welcoming in the lobby area.
Omg gorgeous absolutely nothing too much trouble delicious food served
Fantastic from start to finish! Great staff, great food, great value! Loved the bedrooms, spotless! Well run with regards to covid, very busy though but that's expected with the great deals! Very family friendly and can be lovely for couple too, can't wait to go again! Had lovely birthday treats in the room when we arrived
Had a great time here. The room was very spacious and well heated using central heating. The bathroom and toilets are functional. The room we were allocated faces the parking lot and entrance to the hotel with great view. The breakfast was superb and the staff were very polite and helpful. We went for the 90mins Spa at great price. Altogether, this is a great hotel with very good service.
Nice staff, small but not bad swimming pool, good food
Such a family orientated and friendly staff. Brilliant food, facilities and beautiful hotel
I love this hotel soooo glamorous and relaxing staff lovely.
Beautiful meal in the restaurant. Our guests were so relaxed. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the play area.
We stayed in family room. It's so spacious and bright. Food is nice in the restaurant. Loved breakfast as well.
Kids friendly pool. Jacuzzi sauna steam room.
Enjoyed SPA. 5
