When I sign my lease and was Inspected everything was ok it s after the fact that was pretty criminally Destroyed to leave me in a worse Financial situation of what I have left my last residents of fighting the housing authority and law enforcement of some acknowledgement of my legal and rental tenants rights is a battle that is unnecessary and is being used against me as a single woman my safety is not being accepted no one should have something like this on going and to enforce Credibility of every allegation under the sun to dismiss anything criminal or criminally active what does this really say of our Physical protection as United States citizens and Denver Colorado

I ve been living here for 7 and a half months now. Lease office workers and Maintenance workers are unreliable and seem under qualified (just plain dumb). Office workers seem to barely have high school diplomas and maintenance workers take forever to get to you and don t communicate well. However the property is nice and I like my unit, clean and fixed up well enough. Neighbors obviously suck but you ll get that at any apartment complex. I enjoy living here for the most part, as long as I don t have to talk to maintenance or the office for any reason. There s several small things I could pick at like a hole in our linoleum or all the sticking up nails on our balcony; but for the price they charge it s not too bad of a deal, a lot of things I can fix myself.

Biggest complaint I have is all the cigarette and pot smoke that come into my apartment through the furnace vents and through the wholes in the walls were pipes are. It s very very unhealthy and unpleasant. Wish they d do something about it, like fill holes better so stuff stops seeping through.

The air conditioner was not working the way it was suppose to. When I turned it on it would run all day and not cool the apartment. I then turned in a work order to have it checked out. It was found that the Freon was low and close to be out completely. Freon was added to the air conditioner and everything started to get cooled down. My only complaint is that the complex did not check out the air conditioner before the summer season to insure that there would be no problems like this to other units.

I've been touring apartments, as I'm looking for a bigger place than I currently have. I was excited at Castlegate's options--the apartments looked to be a good size. I stopped in today for a tour (I had called to schedule it beforehand after receiving a followup to my inquiry). They asked to hold on to my ID, as is standard procedure, but then I was shocked and made speechless when they handed me the keys and the number of a building and a unit and had me give myself my own tour. Nobody showed me the grounds or the amenities, and nobody walked with me to the building to see the unit. After a little bit of trouble (they told me the building, but didn't tell me which door to go in), I found the unit.

The apartment itself is a nice size. A bonus for the common area closets and the fireplace, but oh...the noise and the stench. One problem at my current apartment is that the ceilings/floors are like cardboard and I can hear every move my neighbors make. I want to escape that. This apartment that they had me tour...I could again hear every step the upstairs neighbors were taking. And the interior of the building (the halls to get to the units) stank horrendously of cigarette smoke and wet dog. I toured 10 hours ago and the stench is still in my nose.

If this is the unit that they're "showcasing," how bad are the rest of the apartments??

I have lived in Castlegate Apartments since 2011, in two different buildings. I gave them a 4 star instead of a 5 star because the buildings are fairly old, and so there are some problems simply because of age. I have read other reviews that are quite negative and have wondered if those people live in the same complex that I do. I have been very happy in my time here at Castlegate. While the office staff and management has changed several times since I first moved in, I have always found them courteous and helpful. The same with the maintenance guys. I had an experience some time last year on a Sunday evening of having water pouring from my kitchen sink onto the floor. I immediately called the emergency maintenance number for help. I got a recording as expected, but was called back in less than five minutes, saying they would be there shortly, after advising me to put towels down on the floor to help soak up the water. When the man arrived he quickly found the problem -- backup from another apartment -- and got every thing unplugged, taken care of and cleaned up. He even wrung out the wet towels for me, which had collected quite a bit of water! While I have not had to call maintenance very often in my time here, that is just one sample of their service. While I do not know too many of my neighbors, the ones I have met, in my own building and while out walking in the complex, have been friendly and caring. That includes the kids I have come in contact with, who all have been polite and helpful. The only real complaint I have, is they have had to cut back on the various activities at the Center, and I miss those, but I would not hesitate to recommend Castlegate as a good place to live.

The work they done was good and was completed in two day as promised.

I would rate them lower if I could. They turned off my building s water without telling us because of a clogged drain. It has now been off for TWENTY FOUR HOURS. They are so cheap that instead of paying a plumber they ve been using their handymen who are clearly not trained in plumbing, and now it s been a day. In fact, they sent the plumber home last night because they didn t want to pay the overtime rate.
These people do not care about their tenants or their job.
I wasn t able to have a shower yesterday, I haven t been able to have one today. I don t even have drinking water, I had to go to the store for that all while I am actively paying for water that is turned off.
Do yourself a favor and do not rent from castle gate.

A relatively simple job after I'd failed to successfully reinstall a window screen. I called in a work order just after lunch. By 3pm a young man not only reinstalled the screen but one corner was coming out approx 10x10" so that too was taken care of, in a friendly, timely manner.
So dedicated it would seem, two other maintenance personnel have stopped by to complete said work order, each about a week after the other, but great job! Thanx

The service at castlegste is professional & very prompt to address any service issue I have had.Service tech knew how to take care of an electrical issue along with leveling out patio door even if was only 15 outside. Great people.
