Amazing views, great atmosphere. Mind blowing shows. Great security.

The only downside to this venue is the struggle it was to get water.

Paul the property manager is what makes Castle McCulloch special! After Castle Catering ceased operation we were in a time crunch frenzy...3 months before wedding, we were happy when Paul introduced himself gave his cell # to my daughter and said you need anything call me! My daughter and I could relax and enjoy the wedding as Paul made sure the Castle was set up and ready! Thank you Paul!

I am a videographer/photographer and I was filming a wedding for Chris and Creatha Dillion and the staff from the Castle were very helpful. Karen, is the name of the lady who went above and beyond to help. I would definitely recommend them to any couple looking to get married

We had the WORST experience at the halloween bash. The lines were ridiculously long. The staff were very disrespectful. And drinks were EXTREMELY overpriced.. not to mention they only accept cash. They do have a ATM but it's a 5 dollar charge to withdraw money...

Love it! Overpriced as a venue, but it is truly beautiful!

Some of the items used for the wedding venue are a little out dated and in need of a serious cleaning.

Great venue I worked for a catering company that served the weddings and parties here and the staff is always instructed to take care of the venue in a sanitary manner and always be polite to guest

I absolutely loved my wedding at Castle McCulloch and everything was so perfect. Our ceremony and reception took place in the Castle itself and on the Great Hall patio and everyone just raved about what a unique place it was. All of the preferred vendors they recommended were fantastic and the staff at the Castle were always great to work with as well! My only complaint was just that things can definitely get expensive fast and sometimes I wasn't expecting that. For instance, we decided to keep the bar open one extra hour (it was only going to be open through the Castle from 6-9 so we wanted it open until 10). Just for that extra hour alone, it was nearly $400 extra which just seemed a little high and a little nickle-and-dimey! At the same time however, I still think it was so worth it to use the Castle and I wouldn't have changed a thing! We had a great deal on the venue as it was, so the extra costs that were added here and there weren't a big deal. It was such a perfect wedding and the venue helped to make that so!

Couldn't ask for a better experience for our 10 year anniversary and vow renewal.

I have been performing weddings at the Castle since 2000, and no matter who the staff was, they were always professional and helpful.
As far as the location, it offers many options Whatever you choose, your wedding will be beautiful.

Lovely place for a wedding. The Castle is an intimate setting with a vaulted roof. Enter over a moat. Only a little water in late September.
Short walk to the Castle which is a large circular tent, solid floor, huge chandiler, good side lighting, good restrooms. Plenty of parking.

One of the best places for Halloween. And finally some house music to dance to

I came here to visit for a potential wedding venue. I received a tour of the venue with an appointment. The staff was friendly and the venue is very pretty with stone walls and a chandelier over large wooden doors, which makes it a perfect spot for a ceremony. The bridal suite was small, but doable. I decided against my wedding here due to space, but I still think it would make the perfect venue location for the right couple.

Beautiful venue. About an hour from Durham. Waiting to see if we can make the numbers work.

I was privileged to go on a VIP trip around High Point. This is one of the many locations that was showcased on the tour in their continued efforts to revive the city. I love the castle, old but well maintained. This is a perfect spot for weddings, anniversaries and other special events.

Had a blast at the nardi grass party. Big area, multiple buildings, great parties and I could see how it would be a good wedding venue.

Castle McCulloch is an enchanting and wonderful venue! My son s wedding on 1-12-20 was wonderful! Our event manager, Leslie, was top notch! She went out of her way to assist us, and her knowledge of the castle s history added to the magic of the day! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique venue for a wedding or party! Make sure you ask for Leslie!

I love the parties the Castle throws. Lots of space & its beautiful!

Mardi Gras is crazy here! This was my first year experiencing it. It was really fun, just be prepared to spend some money. Basically think of the Mardi Gras experience here, in monetary terms, just like going to an amusement park. Parking is always crazy, lots of walking, etc. But it is well worth it, if you just get down, meet new people, and just groove to the whole scene.

Need light reflective directional signs on rural entry, exit roads. Within castle area; more, better light
and reflective signs on road, parking lot, and paths. Steps in castle were steep.

My cousin had her wedding here and the place is really beautiful.

Castle McCulloch is the perfect wedding venue. Not only is the site unique and beautiful but the staff is amazing. We went with all recommended vendors by the Castle and since the vendors had worked together before the wedding went smoothly and perfectly. Paulette was the staff member we worked with the most. As an out of state Bride I was nervous about planning a wedding without being able to be hands on. Paulette was able to communicate all the little details and was always kind and patient with me on the phone. Elena was our day of coordinator and was very thoughtful and helpful. We were able to do a payment plan as well which allowed us to pay for the venue in cash. The venue also already has tables and chairs and an inventory list which helps tremendously with planning. I highly recommend Castle McCulloch. They truly made our fairtytale wedding happen.

Great adult experience. Drinking, fun and dancing but if you are kinda a prude...you might not enjoy it as much.

I started out having a horrible experience regarding the pricing. There were so many things that they "forgot" to tell us were extra charges and I had finally had enough and asked to speak to the manager. I expected him to make excuses and basically do nothing to remedy the situation but I was shocked when he called me back and apologized profusely. he made everything right and promised to make my daughter's day run smoothly. We were so pleasantly surprised when we got there because I was expecting to do everything by myself but instead was provided a wonderful director named Stephanie who met me every need and was so unbelievably helpful. I don't know what I would have done without her. The venue was stunning, especially at night . We had cocktail hour in the Queens Chamber, which we weren't expecting to be very nice, was wonderful. If you are having a small wedding of 50 or less, I would definitely recommend the castle. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the horrible way it all started out but they definitely made up for it at the end. It was a night my daughter and I will never forget.

Most fun I ve ever experienced in any venue within NC for sure! BRING BACK THE GOOD DJS IN THE CASTLE THOUGH! It s used to be the most amazing djs inside the castle but recently it s been noticeably lower quality sound and less skilled DJs in THE GREAT HALL.

For ten years I came just to see the great hall DJs and was so impressed every time. The ones since have been far less experienced, lack the ability to captivate a full room for hours and the castle has been sparse and uninterested.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL DJS FROM THE CASTLE. Kate aka Nathan Nice, and his guests were the only reason my group of friends came, and I doubt I ll be back if they don t return. Bring back the Real DJS and respect them even if you don t understand. Listen to Patika. Listen to your heart and do what s right before this turns to a gathering of the juggalos.

Awesome place! Been to daytime & nighttime events. Great place to just walk around and check out the views. Night time parties and events, such as Marti Grea & Halloween bring out a variety of people who all seem to be having the time of their lives. Multiple buildings that all have music or entertainment to fit into a wide spectrum.

I'm a wedding DJ. The staff here are very rude. You can tell they don't like their job for some reason. Years prior, staff was friendly and professional. Not the case any more. My recent clients were treated sub par by staff members. Outside DJ contract reflected an attitude as well. As if they are saying it is a privilege you are at their facility. By saying what you are not going to do. It's very apparent they don't understand how to be professional or have customer service skills. My staff noticed the same without me even saying anything. Rear entrance used for caters and/or DJ'S is horrible if you have a vehicle pulling a trailer. To put it simple, if your looking for a venue in the triad, mark this place off your list at the moment. There are several more venues in the area that will make your special day the best. They will do it with a smile and show an appreciation for your business.

Attended a friend's wedding and the ballroom was done up quite well. The chandelier is something to see and the staff was attentive.

The castle is a fun place; every time we go we have a good time (we mainly only attend the Halloween event called The Beer and Boo Bash).

The staff is not on the same page. The info that is given to clients is not accurate. The vendors who work there seem to know more about the venue than the venue staff does.

I've been going to the Halloween Beer and Fear bash for years and the grounds of The Castle are incredible. The place is huge.

We had our rehearsal dinner and wedding at Castle McCulloch in December 2019 and everything was beyond perfect! It was easy to contact the castle staff when planning, the venue was gorgeous, and everything was how we expected/planned! This was the perfect location for our small intimate wedding. Paulette was great at communicating quickly prior to our events, accommodating our last minute floor plan changes, and reassuring us that everything will be perfect. Our day of contacts (Stephanie for rehearsal dinner and Andrew for wedding) were both present for anything that was needed and quick to make any last minute accommodations. I would highly recommend Castle McCulloch to anyone looking for an amazing unique event venue!

It was beautiful (the only thing I would change is more street lights near the back of the parking lot)

Took my children to visit the grounds, and they loved being up close to a real castle! I recommend calling ahead to make sure there aren't any events currently going on. We were able to tour the grounds and inside the castle.
