If I can give this facility 10 stars, I would. Every time I visit the facility, I see their staff so happy and welcoming. I see how the facility staff care for their patients and they go above and beyond and I see patients happy and have quality of life. This is how an assisted living facility should always be. The managers are so on top of everything which makes this facility great.

We have had several patients in Casa Sandoval during the past few years. this review had been long overdue. First, I would like to acknowledge and commend 3 star for the response and care the Facility and staff provided in preventing and managing the Emergency Public Health Crisis ( COVID-19 Pandemic). Our patients were most vulnerable to COVID-19, the Staff did very well in preventing out break in the facility. Another star is for their attitude and being Proactive in managing comfort for our clients. They actively engage in the care and always have good communication with our agency. They have been our eyes and ears since we are not there 24/7. We always get updates from their staff regarding our clients needs. Thank you to all the Nurses, med-techs, care givers and staff who are facing all the challenges of caring our elderlies.

i am still waiting for a copy of the house rules.

The food is substandard and always cold.

Room maintenance never comes by and vacuuming and cleaning are backing up.

I have to make special calls to get laundry service.

my next door neighbor screams all night and when I call it in nothing is done about it. I have been a lawyer for 43 years and came here for physical therapy following back surgery. No dementia or other.

Horrible place to work and live (according to residents I have had conversations with). Certain Supervisors (who I shall remain nameless) are unprofessional, ignorant, and have no place in this particular field of work. If you are thinking of living or working at this place skip it.

The staff knows how to take care of their clients. Patients are never left unattended and caters to the needs of all patients as much as possible. Very friendly staff members too and know what team work is all about. As a hospice nurse, I usually go to other facilities but the staff in the other facilities mostly are arrogant and think they know more than other clinicians outside those facilities. All staff members that I've spoken to in this facility (Casa Sandoval) are down to Earth and humble. They do not compete just because a clinician is not part of their facility staff. They work with the clinicians and that is how it should always be in every facility. So thank you Casa Sandoval. Please keep up the good work.

We chose Casa Sandoval for my parents because of its location close to family members, and for the mini offerings of activities and dining options. Mom passed away six years ago, and Dad just passed last month. Through the last years of their lives, the staff were extremely caring and accommodating. Throughout the COVID restrictions, several employees and caregivers were instrumental in keeping our family connected with Dad. It was comforting to know that MorningStar offers several levels of care in the assisted living option. Both Mom and Dad were very satisfied with their arrangements, especially not having to cook meals, transportation to local church, shopping and health care, and the wide variety of activities available. This family has been very grateful for the caregivers who took loving care of our parents.

Sharing my great experience. I have met the team and the residents and I felt welcomed. It was great to see the directors around residents and taking time talking to them and just had a natural approach in making the residents feel valued. I had a chance to chat with few residents and they spoke highly of the dedication of the team members who works very hard 24/7 to ensure resident s safety. It was great to hear residents and team members give credits to the management and how much they enjoy their home and their workplace. No wonder they all look happy simply because they have a caring community that makes it possible for them to enjoy what they have.

When I was nearing my 85th birthday, I felt it was time to be relieved of the responsibilities of a house and garden and all that entails.
I recalled the pleasant memories of a class held at Casa Sandoval in 1997 - 2003. It was a writing class held by the Hayward Recreation Dept. I not only wrote my life story, I became acquainted with Casa and observed how the residents in the class enjoyed living at Casa. So when I was ready to leave my home, I knew where I would like to live, but I took tours of other facilities and I chose Casa.
My family was surprised at my decision, but after seeing Casa and all it has to offer, they felt I made a wise choice. One son said, "Casa is like being on a cruise ship!"
The move was made in Apr. 2013, I am pleased with my decision.
Casa is everything I expected and more! I am relieved of grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, paying utility bills, house cleaning people, as well as gardeners. I don't have to cook - I can relax and enjoy many activities, sometimes I choose to skip some, as there are so many activities. One can never be bored. The food is delicious, there is a wonderful salad bar and fruit also, plus delicious soup and two entrees to choose from for lunch and dinner. For breakfast, I choose fruit, juice, coffee and a pastry, except on Sunday when I have a great breakfast or brunch.
I have enjoyed meeting so many nice people who live here. And speaking of nice people, the staff is comprised of the nicest, caring people who try to assist in every way possible.
The decorations seem to be constructed by artists. There are themes carried out in decorations, food, entertainment and activities. I enjoy my apartment with a nice living room and balcony. When I moved in I put food in the fridge, but realize that is not necessary, the food went out when it became old.
It is comforting to know that if or when I need assisted living it will be available to me. I wasn't upset when I decided to give up my car due to my reluctance to meet the challenges of the fast moving traffic, for fear of an accident.. Casa provides me with transportation to church, medical appointments, shopping, excursions, etc.
My sincere appreciation to the staff for the care I receive. Jean Rolf
