Definitely worth a visit. The parking was cheap, with no time limit (I think it was $7 but don't exactly remember). The building can be somewhat confusing to walk around, so be sure to grab a map. The tickets are reasonably priced as well. Once you pay for tickets, you receive a paper tag that must be worn visibly while walking around. I suggest you plan for at LEAST 4 hours, or more if you enjoy walking around a museum and experiencing as much there as you can. I wish I had had more time to walk around and learn, but that was my own fault. The dinosaur section has a great variety of dinosaurs on display, including a few real fossils. The mineral section has more in it than we had time to look at, including a radioactive minerals section, presented behind glass with a Geiger counter to show the materials' different radioactivity. There was also a section with sculptures from all over the world, some real-sized, and some shrunk, but both were impressive to look at. When I went, there was also a floor with art from all times in history and present.

A wonderful museum to explore all day! There is plenty of seating to go at your own leisure. We wish the cafe had been open later but there are plenty of yummy bites nearby. I do feel the Native American History Exhibit should have been easier to access!

There is a connection to not only American Art and History but pieces from all over the globe. A must stop!

We make it a point to come here when we are in Pittsburgh. The kids absolutely love looking at all the dinosaur exhibits while I enjoyed their new Dino armor exhibit. Worth the extra 5 dollars for sure. Just one of the best museums in the country. I also want to give a shout out to lady that works there. I can't remember her name but she has been with the museum for 27 years and was supremely knowledgeable about many of the exhibits. Very sweet elderly lady.

Beautiful place looks clean classy, customer service is exceptionally good. From the cashiers to the security service. Love this site. In this museum you can find dinosaur bones, precious stones and other historical animals. Also as artistic painting pictures. Parking is free!

We really enjoyed the exhibits in the ice age room and the activities in the courtyard but all of it was really interesting and well presented. Easy to find with good parking and reasonably priced for the quality and and quantity of exhibits. Just a warning that the lower level cafe is closed, we went down there just to find out we couldn t get anything. The armor exhibit is also worth checking out if it s still there when you go.

Very nice! They have a huge collection of minerals. Some of them are very beautiful. I wish I were more interested, but there is something about case after case of rocks that saps my enthusiasm.

I enjoyed the dinosaurs and the vast collection of taxedermied animals. The giraffe was my favorite.

I also really enjoyed the American Indian exhibit. I learned a lot about igloo construction and harpooning seals.
