It was a very nice place to have Valentine's day dinner.
It was a very nice place to have Valentine's day dinner.
This Spa boasts amazing staff and such a therapeutic atmosphere!
Very quiet; extraordinary hard-working customer service team; sumptiously-furnished rooms in the tradition of an English country house; and dinner that's worth coming back for. I suspect the management keep a very close eye on the standards here.
Great service here. Will definitely return to try this 4 diamond accommodation, restaurant & bar.
Absolutely Lovely Hotel , and restaurant!
We stayed here 5 days we loved everything about this hotel!
Location, interior, service and the restaurant is absolutely amazing, over any expectations!
Must check this out in when your in town Or this area;)
The king suite was amazing and everything you could want! A big soaking tub, double sinks in the bathroom, coffee pot, microwave, fridge, two bathrooms. The decor was fancy and clean. The actual communication with staff was somewhat sparce and confusing. We were told about a club house across the street we could use but not what was offered there. (After I left I found out they had a pool table etc) nice fire pit in the back to sit out and enjoy the evening. Breakfast was included and made to order. Did not get in for spa services as they were booked and did their own appointments (not through the inn). Overall I had a great stay and would return.
Fantastic stay. Hardworking staff, who are extremely helpful. My room was fantastic, and the meals are truly special. I wholeheartedly recommend the Carnegie Inn & Spa!
Solid relaxing spa environment. Richie has been cutting hair for years so my hair cut only took about 20 minutes but is versatile and cut very well. Products are spa priced so maybe skip down to Ulta. Mom has mani and pedi done here all the time and they are trendy and fantastic.
Love the gardens! The rooms are spacious n comfortable. Great location n wonderful staff. The restaurant is fabulous . We were so disappointed that it was closed for renovations! Have to wait until next year to enjoy !
Amazing stay. Great service. Lovely staff. Great breakfast. Clean room.
The Carnegie and is incredibly charming and comfortable. Large rooms very comfortably appointed and amazing bathrooms make for a elegant and pleasant environment. The staff was immensely helpful and courteous. It felt like a resort
My first fine dining experience. I'd come here again.
Awesome everything. Been staying here on and off for past 3 weeks. Great staff, cozy place and surprisingly affordable. If in state college this one is a must
Excellent location for PSU Football Games/Events. If warm old world charm is your taste this is your place. Staff excellent from check in to check out. Homemade chocolate cookies... five stars. Thank You Carnegie Inn & Spa

Good food, excellent service and very relaxing atmosphere
Beautiful property and great atmosphere. Staff was friendly and attentive!
Beautiful rooms with an amazing restaurant and golf complex. The staff was amazingly friendly and extremely helpful. Went out of there way to make you feel welcomed. Stayed one night for business and didn't want to leave!
This is one of the best hotel stays I ve ever had. We were greeted at the door by the desk clerk who was very kind and walked us to our room. Our room was large, spacious and clean. They offer a complimentary sit down breakfast that made me feel like I was in a 5 star restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to any and everyone!! We will definitely be coming back!
Very clean. Bed so very comfy. Huge tub fills fast and hot my favorite part. Morning breakfast was a let down tasted good server was so scatter brained and seemed in a rush. 2 servers on staff with 4 tables.....
Advanced booking required. Went there to celebrate our anniversary. Beef carpaccio and lamb shank were amazing.
I highly recommend a stay at the Carnegie Inn & Spa if you are in the State College, PA area. Fantastic setting, service, and facility!
I booked the chef's table not knowing what to expect. Let me tell you, what I thought may have been an inflated price in State College ended up being one of the best meals I've ever had; I would pay 30% more to have that experience again. The chef asked ahead of time if there were any allergies or food restrictions and we let him know to have full creativity over the event. With the hotel price being as inexpensive as it is I wouldn't hesitate to stay the night and make a small overnight trip for this again. Thank you Chef Paul and his team for a very memorable occasion!
I visited the Carnegie Spa for a manicure. Shelby was wonderful. She is careful and caring. They use the best products for the health of your body.
Very very lovely. The dining room was excellent. Breakfast also excellent. There are few places I would intentionally go back to and this is one.
Excellent food and good wine selection. Service was very good overall, but our assigned waiter left a little to be desired. Beautiful space.
I attended an event here. The food and atmosphere were fantastic!
Nestled in the woods, this hidden gem is the perfect end of day refuge after a long day of PSU campus hustle and bustle. Quaint, peaceful, picturesque, serene, delicious, and welcoming! Highly recommend!
The food was absolutely wonderful. I can not discredit this. Prepared and plated beautifully.
Had a few hiccups while I was there.
The black haired lady at the front has a serious attitude problem and made me feel unwelcome.
My server wrote down that I was allergic to potatoes, however when my filet came out, there were mashed potatoes on my plate.
Might I add that I am deathly allergic to potatoes, I know it's uncommon, but I prefer to stay out of the hospital.
There are few places like this in the state college area, next time I consider one it will probably be elsewhere, where I feel welcome and the cooks are attentive enough to have a little respect for severe food allergies.
Always fantastic foods, service that makes you think you are their only customer, a gracious waite team, and an atmosphere that is both welcoming and un-rushed. I'll be back!
Beautiful, serenity, and luxurious best describe Carnegie. They have an amazing tub, very spacious and beautifully designed rooms, and very comfortable beds almost life home. Highly recommend them.
Excellent food and better service, the best restaurant in state college
This is our favorite weekend getaway place. It is high luxury in a wooded area away from all the traffic of state college. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very spacious. The service is top rate.
Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. The prices are good for what you get. I can see why they have so many good reviews.
Hands-down the best restaurant Ive ever eaten at. I ve been all over the country and all over the world and this is still the best food. Very very good food, excellent service, great atmosphere!
Excellent service. We were put in a private room due to space limitations at the time we tried to make a reservation. Prompt service from staff. Food was excellent. Prices were above average but we knew that going in. Would definitely recommend and go again.
The most luxurious and prestigious place to have a dinner in the area.
the food is amazing and the fireplace seating is so cozy!
I had the opportunity to stay at the Carnegie Inn and Spa for the first time this week. The entire experience surpassed all my expectations. Every person working at the front desk was friendly, engaging and extremely willing to help. My room was spacious and had a warm and welcoming feel to it. And the food was cooked to perfection. I was there on business, but will definitely be back with my Wife! If you are in the State College area, I highly recommend the Carnegie Inn and Spa!
1 of the best and only fine dinning experiences in town
Great atmosphere, food and service were both phenomenal. Would definitely recommend
Very nice service, wish they had more choices for children.
Our stay was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had ice.
The room was very clean and decorated nicely.
The hotel amenities were great.
The only negative I can think of is the parking lot is very small and fills up quick, especially when the restaurant is busy.
Beautiful hotel. Replica of Andrew Carnegie's home. Lovely room. Great food and the staff is wonderful
Awesome place. Nice ambiance. Good food and a library area to socialize. Good for small or large events. Very Good experience!
Wife got her hair and nails done there. She loved it and looks great.
Wonderful, beautiful, first rate, large clean rooms. Great and friendly service.
My date and I ate at the chef's table. Very nicely set up but could have a better view to watch the preparation. The food was good but not to the quality level I expected for the venue and very high cost.
Superb customer service. Elegant atmosphere and decadent room. Only wish was a mini fridge, are they obsolete these days at hotel and inns?
My dining experience was very elegant. The food and service were exceptional along with my time spent there. We were seated by a fireplace to dine and it was very romantic. I would say that this was the finest dinner we've had ever.
Incredible service. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Dinner was alright, but free breakfast was better.
Excellent place to arrive, you feel at home, I recommend it a lot !!!!
I felt like I walked into a Clue board game. We drank in the library, ate dinner in the dining room, and were murdered with a pipe in the study. Just kidding about that last part. It's a great place for a nice dinner with a loved one.
Fantastic. Lots of amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Will stay here again.
Absolutely the best. Accommodations, fine dining, cozy bar inside a library and a spa as well. Outside fires at night. Relaxation!!!
My husband took me here for a surprise birthday dinner. The food was excellent and staff were very friendly.
Lovely inn and friendly staff. This is one of State College's best kept secret.
At this price they should have a shuttle from the airport.
This hotel is top knotch in every way! Clean, beautiful quite, elegant and just feels like home. The staff is amazingly friendly and pays attention to every detail making your stay enjoyable and relaxing . The food is delicious , room service first class, the free breakfast has a good selection and cooked to order. The pool is well maintained and I have not gotten any spa treatments but I heard great things about them . Highly recvomend this hotel!
The room was gorgeous and affordable. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was fantastic. I plan to stay here again.
Excellent laid-back atmosphere, in a golf resort area. Not like your regular Hotel but, it's an old fashion style Inn and spa. Staff for extremely friendly, warm and willing to meet your every need. Nice original ornate decor, all rooms still use lock and key. Very cozy warm and friendly stay. The food is made to order at breakfast and there's quite a cute little bar! Fantastic place to stay and not too far from Penn State and other amenities!
Just coming back from New York, we lived happily in this cosmopolitan city. After reading the comments on the Internet, I reminded my family that the employees here may be a bit unfriendly. The fact is the opposite. We lived in that four days, the hotel staff were all very pleasant, including the infamous "redhead", this time she checked in for us, she also called for us A car goes to the airport (a price with a taxi).
everyone at our table was glad to be there. looking forward to returning with my relatives.
It feels like home. I like the artworks and the antique style decoration of the rooms. And of course the jacuzzi in the bathroom is perfect for a relaxing evening after a long day.
Consistent and beautifully presented food. Excellent, attentive service. A bit pricey compared to other restaurants in town, but well worth the price if you're willing to pay!
The hotel is so small and intimate that it feels like the staff is catering just to you. It was a beautiful hotel with exceptional amenities. We absolutely loved our stay and will remember it for a long time to come
Food is absolutely amazing! The filet mignon is by far the best steak I have had ever at any restaurant and the scallops were also delicious. Staff is super friendly and very helpful.
Special event last evening--celebrating 21st Birthday with Granddaughter. Where? With Chef Paul Kendeffy at the Carnegie House Inn. The evening was an over-the-top experience--ambiance, service, food, champagne. Worthy of at least a 10 Star rating. Exquisite! Memorable!
This place was like a frat house. Noisy and rowdy. There was a private party and they had a band that played for hours to unacceptable hours. Very disappointed because I feel like this is a really expensive place and should try to give customers a peaceful and nice experience.
An absolute hidden gem in state college. The food is delicious and the interior is fantastic. Great place to bring a date. Service was excellent too.
Ambience is very well executed. Food was a mix of stellar and poorly prepared. Salmon appetizer was very nice. I have to say that the salad was a perfect mix of tart greens, silky dressing and crispy bacon. My entree was a lamb wellington that was disappointingly soggy with vegetables that were not cooked properly. All the rest of the food was quite good as was the service until the server brought us the entrees........my employee ordered filet and he received short ribs. He made her aware of the mistake when she sat both of the plates down (mine was right), but she left us to check. She came back, took my fork off my plate and took both plates, for what I would assume would go back to the kitchen. NO NO SHE DIDNT. SHE DELIVERED THE TWO PLATES TO TWO OTHER PATRONS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RESTAURANT!!!
I was so stunned i didn't say anything. Still stunned.
We moved to dessert and we ordered an apple that wasn't an apple. A white chocolate shell full of apple dessert that, I was told, was an otherworldly experience. My dessert was smores served outside at the fire.
How cool right?
So I started to go to the fire. No. The waitress started the fire and rather than take the dessert to the fireplace she makes me carry the rather large plate outside. She gives me no napkins and I sit down in a chair and it is full of the days rainwater. How unreasonable of me to expect that she would dry off a seat or two for us at a restaurant where our dinner would be $300. Nope.
It has great potential but it seems operations are a little sloppy. The owner of this establishment would be mortified by ny experience and further mortified to know of my position since they are a AAA 4 Diamond Restaurant.
Beautiful clean rooms that pay attention to the small details. Room was clean, beautiful, comfy. Lots of amenities. A very large tub and a shower separately. Restaurant had tasty food. Free breakfast off their limited menu but still many good options. I got eggs benedict, yummy, it comes with juice or coffee. For dinner I ordered mushroom soup but it was pureed and way to thin for my liking. Also kinda bland. Then I ordered the cheese goat & mushroom ravioli in cream sauce. It was heavenly. So so delicious. A bit on the pricy side. All the staff was welcoming and accommodating. A beautiful building inside and out. On a golf course. The clubhouse across the street is where you can go swimming in the pool, watch a big screen TV, cozy with a fireplace( outdoor n indoor), a pool table and kitchen to make snacks. Vending machines. I don't have anything negative to add.
Carnegie Inn & Spa is a wonderful spot for superb cuisine served in a gorgeous surround with impeccable style and panache.
The menu offers a terrific variety certain to please almost any palate.
We have eaten there a number of times and have always appreciated the experience "from soup to nuts".
It is our first choice for entertaining family or friends, especially at times of celebration when we trust nothing to be left to chance.
We feel it is "the choice" for fine dining in State College. Coming from NYC I feel Carnegie Inn & Spa is competitive with just about any restaurant there at which we have had the opportunity to dine.
Highly recommended for a memorable evening.
Service was excellent and hotel staff was extremely helpful. Fresh cookies in the room on arrival. Good free breakfast in the morning.
