Rooms are clean. Located not far from the city center. Not impressed with the restaurant. Great place to have a drink. The food is nothing special. Overpriced for the quality

Lovely hotel with dated rooms but refurbished restaurant and reception. Situated in Haarlem which is a fab place and good links into Amsterdam and to the coast where there is an amazing beach. The staff are amazing too! Visit!

This is a wonderful, stylish and clean hotel. Thy have an amazing buffet every morning. Lunch is also great and their bar specializes in whisky. The room was huge, much larger than I expect in Europe. The bathroom was nicely appointed and the decor was modern. Everything was immaculate. I'd stay here again.

Great service and friendly staff. Big room with a great bed, bath and shower. And, keeping the best for last, an amazing bar/restaurant.

Great hotel with a great restaurant. A short walk from the square in Haarlem. It's well placed, friendly and a nice place to stay. Have now stayed here 10 or more times this year. It is that good!

The staff there are fantastic. Hotel is really nice and the food is some of the best I've ever had. Ask them for the Rodders taster. They designed it just for me :-)

Coincidentally we past by for a drink. Great atmosphere, most friendly staff, great wines and lovely ginger tea with a divine peace of brownie. Will be back for sure.

Stayed on business for 2 nights. Small issue with my room was quickly resolved and i was moved. The food in the hotel is excellent. Would like to come back on a personal trip. Highly recommended

Nice hotel with ok rooms and a good bar area. Visited during World Cup and was not a problem to see the games in the bar.

We recently stayed at this hotel at the end of September. Thank you to all the staff who were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Very well located hotel. Few minutes from the city center. Near to many cafes and pubs. On the for good restaurant with a large selection of wines. I recommend to everyone

Just spent 3 nights here, location is perfect. Haarlem is really a delightful place to stay. Hotel has bikes to rent. Restaurant is great, high quality food, good service, and excellent atmosphere. Rooms are clean. Staff is courteous and competent. There are multiple parks within walking and biking distance, it is an easy bike ride to beach, many restaurants within easy walking distance. I don't know Dutch and I found it easy to navigate the city / surrounding area using Google Maps and talking with locals.

Very good hotel, perfect room. The parking is way too expensive.

We literally got no help concerning booking problems .. lost 200 Euros.. thank you for nothing. Worst communication ever

This was my favorite hotel if my whole vacation. Very friendly hotel staff and not pretentious at all. When checking in, I asked if where the best place to park the car would be, and the receptionist let me know of a street with free parking all the locals seem to use. The hotel restaurant is also decent, with non guests eating there.

Great located hotel. Parking is possible in the lot under the hotel (extra fee). Rooms could be in a better shape (damaged wallpapers!), but extraordinary clean (including bath) and with a free complimentary bar.

We had a very pleasant stay over the weekend. The staff was really pleasant and helpful. The restaurant serves quality food which combined with the friendliness and hospitality of the waiters makes for a great dining experience.

To bad they don't tell you anything about being a household and corona on the website of during your reservation.. just no information. We were ready to book and I called the hotel to ask since other websites do mention this. I would expect higher quality from a hotel like this.

Enjoyed my stay here. Quiet area and close to center. Clean room, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Excellent restaurant and I personally recommend the Dutch inspired negroni. A must try if you like aperitifs...

Currently spending four nights here. Great quiet location near food and shops. The lobby is very nice. Check in was quick and no problem checking in early after a long flight. The room is great. Large room for European standards: extremely comfy bed: bathroom is a nice size with a good shower. Had one of there all day breakfast in the restaurant and it was excellent. So glad we decided to stay in Haarlem over Amsterdam. Much nicer local vibe and less touristy. Highly recommend.

Fantastic staff. Very friendly people and always willing to share local knowledge and tips on what to do. Very comfortable beds. Overall makes Haarlem a wonderful place to visit and stay.

Good location. Decor needs a bit of a refresh but generally acceptable and the restaurant is not at all bad.

Better accommodation in the Netherlands would be extremely hard to find. Friendly, professional staff, exemplary service and convenient location make this the essential place to stay when in Haarlem. This is our 4th year in a row and it is even better than the last one.

otel is well located, within walking distance of 2 bus stations (use an OV chipkaart and stop @ Tempeliersstraat for quick train access). Amenities are very good, with toiletries, free (2/day) water bottles and wifi.
Consider that parking is not free at this property; if using overnight parking lot, expect to pay around 8 euro (arrival after 7 pm, departure before 9 am). This can be added to your hotel tab, same as dry-cleaning and restaurant services.
Only improvement I could request for is a small 'business centre' with available copier/printer; unfortunately the new Office 365 filter is not allowing emails with pdfs to be sent to front desk anymore for printing.

The Carlton Square hotel is located at a very convenient spot which provides ease of access to the train and bus stations, shopping streets. The highlight of this place is the lively restaurant and the friendly and attentive staff they have here. The rooms are warm and cozy with nice and clean bathrooms. All in all this place has its own charm and definitely true value for money.

I had a great time in this hotel. Very unique style, good food, I'd love to go back one day.

Friendly atmosphere and great location, however room cleanness at very avarage level. Mold at the ceiling in the showers. No gym facility available in the hotel.

Very nice hotel. Stayed there due to travel disruption. Staff were very helpful and even arranged food quite late in the evening. Excellent breakfast and good room.

Great hotel. Friendly service and comfortable. Great food in the restaurant. Be aware the hotel does not have it's own free parking. The attached community parking garage is 25 euro per day.

I stayed at this place while on business. I can say that Haarlem is the most beautiful town to stay in if in the Netherlands, and this is the best hotel to choose while visiting.
It's very convenient, located adjacent to the ABN Amro Bank, where you will find an ATM. Very close to the Town Square where you could go for coffee, dining, shopping or just strolling.
The staff are wonderful, the rooms are small but cozy. The lobby is also small, but very nice and gives you the feeling of sitting in your living room. Price is very reasonable.
The breakfast buffet is really really good, and has many options to choose from.
First, I recommend Haarlem as a city of choice, Amsterdam is too congested, but Haarlem is perfect, second Carlton Square should be your choice of hotels.

Nice hotel, nice room, but on the booking.com website the prices were showing 160 and when I arrived at the hotel they said I had to pay 200 as I had not booked through booking. My husband J Hewitt checked into the hotel at 12 at night, however my flight did not land until 1:15am so I arrived at the hotel at 2/3am. They had no room service to offer and also laughed when I asked for a number for a food delivery service. I then asked for late check out but still received two phone calls waking me up asking when I would be leaving. On check out I was then charged 210 for the room that was showing 160 on booking and I was also charged 20 for late check out. I am a dj and travel to amsterdam a lot so if you are able to offer me a discount on a room in the future I would hugely appreciate it as I feel arriving at 2am and not being offered an extra free hour of two for late check out is not the way you would want to run your hotel. Lovely place and I hope you give me reason to visit again

Cracking hotel in an underrated province outside of Amsterdam, everyone should take Haarlem into consideration and if you go you should stay here! Reasonable price, great food and friendly staff

Very good for conference, time to refurbish the hotel rooms. Maybe a bit more variety for lunch could be good.
