They Don't Call Them SCARE One for Nothing!

They Don't Call Them SCARE One for Nothing!

People, PLEASE. Deciding on a nursing home or "rehab" facility is one of the most important you'll make, at one of the worst times in your life. These "positive" reviews are so obviously mostly or possibly all "planted," which is really scary.

CareOne at Valley should be closed down! People screaming "nurse! nurse! help me! help me!" Call buttons ignored until old people soil their beds and get punished, or get up to walk to the bathroom, fall and break their shoulder or even worse!

People dying of C-Diff and staph infections! Why are these people still in business, so the owners can make more billions? At whose expense, the poor old people who suffer terribly and die awful deaths?

The owners of this Corporation need to be ashamed of themselves, and what do they do? Sublet space from Pascack Valley Hospital within walking distance from CareOne at Valley?

Something is REALLY wrong here, and my advice to you is to STEER CLEAR OF ANYTHING THAT SAYS "CareOne"! More like SCARE ONE!

HORRIBLE! My father nearly died while being treated here! He suffered a stroke, then was transferred here after 3 weeks of hospital care. He was really out of it, and needed time to recuperate. They never turned him. He arrived with not 1 bed sore, but in two weeks had two; by the third week he had to be admitted to an acute care facility due to severe infections that arose from their lack of care. He actually began to get better once he got the care he needed. Because of the neglect he received there he's now still in recovery from their neglect. I see there are people who might benefit here, but it you need real care and supervision then CareOne at Valley is NOT the place to go.

My mother in law recently had a fall at home and fractured three ribs. She was admitted to Care One at Valley for rehabilitation. We were greeted with friendly, smiling faces upon our arrival. The staff was very warm and welcoming. My mother in law was at the facility for approximately two weeks and receiving amazing care from the nurses, aids, and therapists. Shafaq, the unit manager, was very informative and thorough when providing the family with information about my mother in law s condition and medications. Her aid, Fran, was gentle and caring, and always came into the room with a positive attitude. My mother in law s physical and occupational therapists, Kim and Rani were incredible. They helped her get back on her feet and we are forever grateful for them. The food at Care One Valley was exceptional! I would recommend this facility to anyone that requires rehabilitation. We are very grateful to all of the staff who helped my mother in law!

Excellent staff, great communication and updates.

Excellent staff, great communication and updates.
Ability to do window "visits" during CoViD regulations (no visitors allowed in building) is key!
I currently have both parents in rehab here and cannot say enough good things about the entire experience.

This is my mom's second stint at Care One at Valley. She actually requested it again for orthopedic rehabilitation purposes. I have been very happy with the care she has received there. The staff has been wonderful.

My 100 year old father had a difficult time with accepting that he could no longer live on his own. The Directors at CareOne took extra steps to assist him in the transition as a resident there. This meant a lot to me as well. They developed projects to keep him busy and even accommodated him by preparing special meals!

I was in the Sub-acute for Rehab. The people were outstanding, kind, warm friendly. The place was immaculate. I'm glad my stay was short lived because the food was so outstanding I could have gained a few pounds.

The lies and personal agendas at this place is unbelievable. My mom was at this facility and she literally got worse, the facility didnt call any doctors didn t give my mom any care until I made them. The case worker Leah puts on a front she is a liar! The case worker and those staff members said that prior to moving my mom to a long term care facility they would ensure my mom would see all of her doctors and have her medications reevaluated. They started to put pressure on us selecting a long term care facilities because my moms insurance wouldnt cover.

This place lied on my moms medical care transfer report after selecting a facility that wasn t on my list of choices and moved my mom to a facility that did not have the ability to take care of any of her needs. They were better off discharging my mom and putting her on the street. They even changed her ports like she was all prepared to receive medication and the new facility doesn t even offer it. How do you lie and omit care on a medical record to get them out of your facility and think it wont come back to harm you. This is violating every malpractice law ever!

This place needs to be shut down.

This facility is so great that i came back twice! My first experience was after i had my right hip operated on. I was nervous and scared on what to expect when i had arrived but i was not only greeted by a beautiful smile at the receptionist desk, but then i was walked to my room by admissions until i was settled in. I stayed on station 2 (the room was beautiful)and was taken care of by great nurses and aides. I was never bored because there is so much live entertainment, celebrations and constant activities to keep me busy. An activities member came around every day to ask me if i would like to partake in activities or just simply ask if i needed a magazine. The food was incredible as well, it was almost as if it was home away from home. My second asmission to this facility was for my left hip, and i knew i was going to receive the same treatment but as to my dismay it was better! I stayed on station 3 this time ( the room was just as beautiful as the last) .The porters kept my room very clean; overall the facility was very clean i have to add! It was nice to wake up when you are having a bad day with pain and be surrounded with such helpful friendly faces. The rehab department was outstanding as well; highly recommend! The administrator and director of nursing came to visit often which really shows that truly care about their building. A+ facility, overly friendly and knowledgable staff. If you have to have a family member stay at facility, please do not hesitate knowing that they will be in great hands.Choose care one at valley!

My wife, Mrs. Isabell Sternberg was admitted for rehabilitation after spinal surgery. She was admitted at the end of October and stayed for two weeks. Thereafter she was readmitted for another two weeks suffering from other complications and was released mid December.
During her entire stay, Isabell received exemplary care from a caring and attentive staff. Really, we could not find one item to complain about.
Super highly recommended.
We wish the entire staff a Happy Holiday Season and the very best for a New Year.

I arrived here on the 6th of September after breaking my leg on Labor Day and having surgery to put in a plate and screws on Wednesday. It is the 27th of September, and I am leaving so I can finish healing in the home setting. Having prior experience at inpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy, I was astounded by the level of care that the staff here gave me...

Dr. Mary Ann Schran, whose guidance has given me many things to consider, was my main doctor, and Dr. Philip Melchiorre, a physiatrist, who also helped manage my care, were easy to talk to, and brought me the information I needed so that I could be fully informed in my decisions.

There were many nurses with whom I was able to interact. Diane, the Unit Clerk and Glenda, the charge nurse, were such a pleasure. The nurses who came to give me medicine and check my vitals, while also checking in on my needs included: Pedro, John, Keera, Afua, Stephanie, Margaret, Jose, and a few others. The aids who were bouncing from room to room to help us with all our daily tasks and so much more, include: Anna, Aster, Carlo, Caroline, Kiesha, Marie, Mary, Porscha and Twila among others. They provided the most amazing care, and I would say I wouldn't have had such an easy time if it weren't for their abilities to be personal and professional in all the best ways.

My Physical Therapist was mainly Pius. He has energy (and a good sense of humor!), and will help you make real strides towards whatever goals you are focusing on. He listens, and he adjusts to your concerns, and trust him, he will help you get the best care. And Jean, also, he is wonderful to work with too! I had a chance to work with Occupational Therapy also, with Jen (who had me learn a new exercise that I can now do with even more ease than when I arrived! That was exciting!), Mary Anne (one of the nicest people you will ever meet) & John (thank you for getting me the labels for my chair and legs). They helped me gain strength and helped me really appreciate the ways that it will help me when I get home. All of their excitement about therapy was contagious, and prepared me to arrive at the gym for PT and the OT room. They had me take on new and challenging tasks, while solidifying the bases I would need for everyday things. These were the assigned PT/OT, but that did not mean I only interacted with them. I also got to see Adoboye, Andrew, Kim, Mary (whose singing voice is heavenly. If you can go see her perform while you are here!), Mira, Natasya, Rani, Syvil, and so many others. They were great with the other patients, kind and professional, and I was lucky to interact with them all. Also, Pius and Jen, thank you for helping me figure out what equipment I would need to go home with, and work with me on how to navigate the difficulties of being home.

And then there is Krystle Ferreira. She was the social worker in charge of my case, and she kept me updated with the goings on with insurance, and made sure that I arranged to get the appropriate services for care at home when leaving CareOne. She also helped with any other needs or questions during the duration of my care as they applied to the insurance and services available to me.

Access to materials and entertainment, like Bingo, musical entertainment, etc. or things like colored pencils and paper, were easily requested through Genta and her office. She coordinates the social activities that are posted in a calendar each month. I also met Nayda, who would pop-in and see if I wanted to come to events that were happening.

Dining is an important part of the care experience, especially as a vegetarian. With Executive Chef Mike, you get the best tasting food you couldn't even imagine eating in a place like this. And Assistant Director of Dietary, Melissa, came to see if I needed anything on many occasions.

Maintence staff, Ernesto, Eduardo, Skippy, Sam and Steve were all on top of their work, keeping this place running like clockwork.

All in all, I received the best care I needed during this recovery. I am very fortunate for places like CareOne in Westwood, NJ.

My father has been here for 2 years. From the attendants, aides, orderlies, nurses, etc. these are special people who are nothing short of fabulous. The doctors serving the facility leave something to be desired but I've had worse experiences.

My mom has been at this facility for almost two weeks and she has had a robe stolen, had to change rooms due to a rude roommate and have had numerous prescription and dosing errors that are still being addressed. Staff takes their time answering the phone and tend to be reactive rather than proactive with complaints. Listening to patients and the patient s family are not their strong points.
