Love this old hotel. The decor is wonderful with loads of atmosphere. Although we did not have time for a meal the drinks we had were great. A wander around the outside area also was interesting with vintage trucks, old barns and cute cottage. The accommodation looked amazing and if ever back this way would definately stay the night just for the experience.
We were here back in October and I couldn't say better things. We stayed the night and had an exceptional meal with outstanding service. Last night though we drove up from Queenstown for dinner the service was slow and the food was average at best. I have to assume the chef has changed and not for the better. We will not be rushing back.

A great place to stay, outdoor hot tub was great to soak in after horse trek. Clean and tidy rooms and bed was comfortable. Enjoyed the outside fire place. Amazing meal, great service and friendly helpful staff. Looking forward to coming back again.
Beautiful garden, fire place .. historic looking setting and ambient took you back to 1800. Food is good and consistent , its always one of our choice when in Queenstown.
Have for many years we have frequented the Cardrona pub when passing. We recently called in with a large family group and enjoyed a beer. We decided to have a meal and what a mistake that was. Two of the party being kids ordered the nachos. Worst nachos ever. Nachos had no meat only beans, and the avocado on the top looked like something out of a jar and certainly not fresh. I personally had the seafood chowder. I would think the chef needs to learn how to make a seafood chowder. It consisted of a plain white sauce and the fish which was 2 mussels in their shell, 2 prawns with their tails still on, 1 scallop of which the muscle on it was black, and something that reasembled bits of dry cod. All the fish looked like it had been microwaved and then thrown in the white sauce. An absolute disgrace. At least it was a dish that came up as quickly as it went down - although the interior of the car didn't appreciate it and neither did the other passengers. Will be bypassing the Cardrona pub from now on.
Anything less than 5 stars is a lie!
This iconic pub is a must visit. With great food, staff and atmosphere.
There is even a gift store on site with great variety.
The massive fire places, both inside and out ensure a warm visit no matter the weather - highly recommended
Great spot! So much history. Had brunch, big breakfast, and eggs bene, very tasty. and coffee was great. comfortable spot. The best!
Beautiful place to stop and have a Drink. Lovely seating area outside on a sunny day. A outdoor Fireplace also for cold days or nights. Check out the glass floor near the Bar. So cool to see so much History here.
Such a beautiful historic spot, so well kept. Stunning grounds. Warm and cozy hot drinks by the fire. Food looked good too! Lots of cool things to look at in the bar. Friendly service.
