Cardrona Alpine Resort Review

First ski experience here! Looks good for a beginner like me. Had training from good trainers. Lifts are also in good shape. Had a good time

Very good new lift with Gondola this year. Great terrain parks and a range of ski and board levels. On mountain food is expensive but good.

Amazing ski resort, even for beginner skiers. Highly recommend for anyone at any skill level, with most equipment available for rental.

It is a very nice place to enjoy ice skating !!!!!! Wonderful !!!!!!!!!

Just got back from a week on-mountain at Cardona. All had a great time with first-timers, beginners intermediate and and advanced skiers in our party. We didn't even wait to get home to book n ext year!

Not a skier but the Australian visitors had a blast while I stayed inside a warm cafe

Great facilities and one of the largest Fields to explore of all New Zealand fields..

Very very exciting activity. When you buy the ticket, It may look expensive, but if you go and see the huge investment, you will say it is so chip.

Awesome fun. Nice snow, big crowds... The girl who did my hire skis looked like she was so hungover she could hardly do her job... Hence the 4 star

Great for beginners and intermediates like my partner and I. Good mix of wide, shallow green runs and slightly steeper blues. Plenty of red and black runs on the map, but they are well beyond us. Love the combined gondola/chairlift.

Better runs than Coronet Peak or Remarkables.

Carts or Mountain Carting experience review. Simply awesome. Very approachable compared to mountain biking. easy for my wife to get into and she has never mountain biked. The staff are awesome

Great place 3 different lifts were open, place wasn't crowded and there's a lot of intermediate runs (blue and red)

I haven't skied before, but my first time here was outstanding (after falling and tumbling a number of times). They have complete facilities and amenities to ensure your experience would be great, from shuttles, to perfect sizing of boots and skis, to food. If you have a car not built for unsealed roads, do consider taking the shuttle, keeps the car cleaner too :)

Of the four resorts around Queenstown this is my favourite.

We went via bus and the driver was great with communication. This resort has a designated workspace for people who need to work while family goes skiing/snowboarding which I enjoyed.

Awesome snow resort, excellent food options (check out the noodle bar, it's damn delicious) and just a fantastic layout with a variety of wide, groomed runs.

Definitely worth it. Great customer focus. Every member of staff that we encountered was friendly, courteous and very well informed. Must visit when in Queenstown.

Always a superb time. Great staff. Awesome runs. Only downside is the prices of food, but what do you expect? Your up a bloody mountain. God I love those butter chicken pies.

A reasonable skifield for the Southern Hemisphere winter (or Northern Hemisphere summer, as evidenced by professional European teams training here). Relatively easy access along a dirt road and parking options if you get there early enough. Has an excellent terrain park. Overall, would suit beginners and intermediates. Advanced skiers may find the runs a little short and flat. Very friendly staff.

I rode my bycicle on the hill. It was fun. Top work legends. Absolutely amazing

I went downhill mountain carting. It was $130/2 hours exciting and enjoyable experience.

First time on a snowboard, came here and signed up for lessons. Absolutely great service from signing up in Wanaka. Boot and board fitting, and then lessons. Cannot fault the service and helpfulness of the staff here.

Great variety of runs, lots of options for food. Loved Mezz cafe for a good feed after a day on the slopes.

Great staff and well managed resort. The best terrain park I've seen in the world.

Only have Mt. Hutt to compare it to but Cardrona is really a lot better. As a someone new to snowboarding it was a good introduction to the sport. Had a lesson in the morning and was on the slopes by mid day. Good beginner and intermediate trails, would definitely go again.

Beautiful ski area, support slopes for newbies and professional skiers, dedicated staff.
Cons: The restaurant is overloaded, waiting a long time.

Really family friendly ski resort. Beautifully designed base buildings but a bit full during school holidays. The Chondala is a unique addition.

Took 8 year old, for first day of snow and skiing on Wed 4 July. Wow!
Pee(coach) was exceptional with her group of 5 kids both in the morning and afternoon sessions. Thanks so much. Other, more experienced with skiing, parents also commented on how she went above and beyond. Thanks, we will be back.

Drove up for the view and would have taken the lift to the top, but they close at 4pm and there wasn't time. Interesting drive full of switchbacks, but about 14km of gravel road to the top.

Little confusing at first, but the riding was great (mtb) and I loved the mass ride down to the pub when the lifts shut

Awesome summer use of Cardrona. Excellent tracks, great staff and beers and burgers!

Excellent range of hike trails along with good food and beverage offerings.

For us.. it's the better ski field in the region.. A wide resort with some great runs and an excellant intermediate skill...

Small resort and quite a drive to get to. Stunning scenery and not too busy and fast lift system. Great for a single days skiing or possibly two but might be a bit boring after that.

The best ski resort in New Zealand. I love the snow park with jumps, pipes and rails. Perfect!

Never done snowboarding before, so we chose the first timer package for 2 days. It included 3 lessons (about 2-3 hours each). Weather was perfect on the 1st day, clear sky and warm. Our instructor Fabi was fabulous! She was so patient and thanks to her lessons, we got to the green course on the second day already. The second day was very foggy, visibility was very poor but our instructor Mads took us to the green course and with his instructions, we managed to get down the hill in one piece, it was awesome!
No need to bring food with you, very good cafes there with good prices. There is a ski shop, if you need to buy some equipment and rentals also. We got up to the mountain from Queenstown with shuttle bus Go Orange (50nzd return), recommend.
All in all, a very lovely 3 days! Thank you!

Awesome slopes and the mountain itself is perfect!
Think the road up the mountain, the parking and the mud at the entrance are the only things contributing to 1 less star. Could use improvement especially when you compare with other mountains in Queenstown.

Great views in the summer with no snow. The karts on the dirt were great fun.

I liked it but don't go unless there has been a previous night of snow. It gets a bit compacted after mid-day.

The resort has several options for food. The Noodle bar food is fresh, made with love, the chef is very good.

Fabulous runs. Was like being in Europe.

I am coming back tomorrow!!

My favourite south island mountain, great for boarders and skiers of all abilities

Awesome place only problem is that there wasn't a microwave for public use

Loved this resort! Perfect to refresh rusty ski skills and offers a great variety of slopes! Catered for all levels which I found was great and much better than other resorts in the area which are focussed more at experienced-professional skiers.

What a beautiful place. The best New Zealand has to offer in ski resorts. Stunning facilities and helpful staff. Was my first time attempting to ski, didn't go well but the views from the top were spectacular. Found out that it can be quite warm in the snow. Dress in layers.

Cardrona is a good field with variety of you look for it. It's been hosting events both times I've been over last 2 years and lift queues get really busy and long with the constant stream of competitors or ski schools cutting in. Check if event on and go somewhere else if so.

Mountain carts are a must do in the summer, awesome.

Take me back! Would go up and down these slopes all week if I could! People are so friendly and the slopes are awesome. Can't wait to come back and snowboard again in future years
