I was laid off 3 years ago after 18 years of service. In order to collect unemployment you must sign with M.W. I collected 2 checks and knew I had to find a job QUICK. I went in and used the computers and weekly job listings. They offer job fairs, computer classes and testing for LCC. I didnt do that, because I needed a job asap. Within 2 weeks I had a full-time job, i also had interviews with 3 other companies all within 2-3 weeks. If you want the work, you have to put in the work. It's not given to you. As far as entry level, low paying jobs goes, Lansing businesses are not competitive at all. I have 22 years experience and NO one wants to pay 1/2 of my worth. This is not Michigan Works fault. You get what you put in. If you want a place that finds you work, go to a temp agency. The work is out there, I know, I've been there.

Not helpful at all. Honestly wouldn't even bother going to them for help. All you will do is call the place everyday just to get an email from someone who again isn't helpful. This program does NOT help Michigan people get work it just MAKES work for us.

They can be very accommodating but are not easily accessible for handicapped, disabled, or injured patrons. They are on the 2nd floor and have an elevator but the elevator is not easily accessible and the handicap door buttons are not accessible at all.
