I am currently a Director and Secretary of a Condominium Corporation consisting of 27 units and have worked with Canlight Hall and Donald Kason for several years.
A lot of upset in this industry is related to communication. This is derived from Managers being over worked as a result of low condo management fees and difficulty in finding trades people when required. Getting quotes is a very tedious and time consuming process which costs money. This is discussed all the time at the CCI seminars. If owners want better service, they have to expect to pay more. As I have been told, Owners want 5-star service but are only willing to pay 3-star pricing. This is not Trivago? Do you want high end hotel or a second rate motel?. You get what you pay for. As a Director and long-time condo resident, I have come to understand this. Do not blame the car for not delivering performance if you feed it inexpensive fuel and do not maintain it properly. From my experience as a Director, owner expectations are often unrealistic. Canlight Hall and its staff have always been knowledgeable, helpful and forthright with me. From my experience and years of condo living, Canlight Hall is definitely in the to 25% of Condo Management Companies.
