Stayed here for 2 weeks during late December. The park is clean and has a wonderful fenced off leash dog run. Plenty of free poop bags available around the park. Premium site E3 was level with good hookups, but right next to the Hwy 37. Water spigot was locked down at 8PM or 36 degrees and was unlocked at 8AM and 36 degrees. If you're here during cold months be sure and have a good water pump. Employees were nice enough but I didn't have that much contact with them. Propane was cheap. Beautiful 36 hole golf course next door. Now for the negative. Traffic on Hwy 37 runs 24/7. Really loud truck noise, especially when they regularly use jake brakes. We suffered 2 weeks of constant road noise. I suspect this was a better park before they built that highway. I also suspect that this park will be closed and turned into commercial property in the near future. The highway is ruining everything good about this park. As mentioned earlier by other reviewers...the Visitor Fee. I can see maybe charging visitors some kind of user fee when the pool is open, but charging a fee during winter months is ridiculous. Our daughter BRIEFLY visited us and was charged $5.00. She never left the camper. Additionally, when we rented the premier site we read that we could have 2 free visitors. Not true, deceptive. They advised that since we had the reduced winter rate on the premier site that the free visitor policy was void. Again, lies. I highly suspect that the visitor fee goes directly into the pocket of someone because they demand cash only, no receipt. Probably something like a tip. I bet the IRS would be interested. I don't think the owners of this park live on-site, only the manager. I don't think the owners really care much what happens as long as they get their money. The visitor fee left a bad taste in my mouth and I highly doubt I will be back. OK for a quickie overnight visit but don't waste your time with long term stay.

We have been coming to Candy Hill for many years. Easy off and easy on the highway. Although we mainly use it as a stopover on our way to Florida only staying a day or two, we have stayed longer and have explored the beautiful Winchester area. It is always clean and well maintained. We particularly like the luxury sites with cement pads that have been added in the past few years. They continue to make updates and improvements to their sites and we applaud their efforts. The park has a nice fenced dog area with plenty of poop bag stations throughout the park. We have always enjoyed our visits and will definitely return.

Arrived mid-afternoon and was escorted to our campsite. Had challenges with my water tank as the low point valves had been erroneously left open. The manager, Karl came over to my site and was able to successfully troubleshoot the situation. He was extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. I d highly recommend this campground!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Our company, VANGUARD Light Gauge Steel Building Systems rented space for a 5th Wheel from April 2015 to February 2016 (11 months) for one of our employees that was relocating to the area. For a company that has spent over $9,600 plus the additional services that our employee paid for out of his pocket you'd think they would appreciate the business. Absolutely not. Actually, myself, our employee, his wife and his son were treated poorly on many occasions by the manager, Karl Littman, who happens to be the owners son. Mr. Littman is the rudest persons on the face of this earth and how his parents let him run the business is one great mysteries here in Winchester. We've been trying to get a receipt for one that was lost for a month now so we can close 1st quarter books and all we get is the run around and BS statement. We are so tired of dealing with Mr. Littmans BS. This guys doesn't deserve one dime of your money that you've worked hard for. Trust me he doesn't care about you, your family and your stay so you are better off staying elsewhere. PS: I've had to contact our company attorney just to get a receipt. No joke!

It was a quick stop for us, but accommodations were perfect. Cable TV, internet, plus hook up. Everything we needed. We saw a nice pool folks were enjoying. Our spot was a big muddy for the truck, but we arrived just after a big storm.

I love the cleanliness and beauty of the campground. Lots of grass and trees, great little dog run area. Staff is friendly, and everything is kept in good condition. It is a little pricey, but I would still choose it over other area campgrounds.

Although campground is nice the staff was unbelievably rude. The man took us to our site and yelled at us when parking. We are perfectly capable of parking our unit but he rudely asked can t you see me? Can t you stop when I say stop ? Inexcusable behavior To anyone at any time but as the first person we encountered it didn t leave a good impression. Also you can t have a fire unless you buy their wood. Do not recommend!

My husband and I travel in our fifth wheel for his job and we lived at this campground for about 6 months. The employees were all very friendly and helpful, with the exception of the owners. They were never friendly or even pleasant to deal with and the employees were pretty much terrified of them. I don't know what their short term prices were, but I can honestly say this is the most expensive campground I have ever stayed at long term. The campground was always kept clean, but the lots are nothing special and offer no privacy. It is conveniently located to just about everything in Winchester though.

Took the family here for a weekend trip. We will not be returning. The other reviews are spot on about the rude staff, many rules and regulations and they do watch you like a hawk, just waiting to spot a violation. I understand the need for rules and regulations but they are over the top to the point of being ridiculous. There are a couple of nice sites but a majority of them are on top of one another. Our site was so cramped that we could not build a fire without fear of catching our neighbors truck or our awning on fire. The pool was nice and they have a dog park (only reason for two stars). I would only recommend this place for an overnight stay and if you do that be prepared to deal with the not so friendly staff.

Horrible experience. The manager was so rude and confrontational that I left without checking in. I parked at the Wal-Mart down the road instead. I tend to take negative reviews with a grain of salt, but this place deserves every one of them.
