Candice Skinner Real Estate, LLC Review

I have purchased two homes through Candice Skinner Real Estate in the last three years. While I have no experience with her property management department, I can tell you that as a real estate agent, she has always been helpful, respectful, and professional. I didn't have any issues with either of my closings(both of which she personally attended), and she was available for me through the entire process both times. Her husband, Ken, even helped me with a remodel. I honestly can't imagine having a bad experience with Candice, and I am truly shocked to see some of these critical reviews. Really I think there may be some trolls on here. If you're in the market for a home, or need a quality agent to list your current home, I can assure you Candice and her team will work hard for you.

My husband and I have had excellent interactions with Candice and her staff. She walked us through the process step by step explaining approximate wait times for each portion. The office staff has always been gracious and helpful as we walked through the steps of purchasing our first home. Candice is a dynamic professional and a great asset to our local business community. I refer my friends and acquaintances to Candice Skinner Real Estate on a regular basis!

Sumer has been amazing. Any questions I have she has answered them truthfully. She didn t just tell me what I wanted to hear. She would always get back with me in a timely manner with any answers to my questions. She has been so very helpful and I have appreciated working with her.

My agent was absolutely wonderful. She ended up leaving Candice Skinner right before closing, and even though my real estate agent brought the sale all the way to closing, she was never paid for the sale. Extremely heart broken for my real estate agent that she was treated this way. This was unprofessional and unethical treatment from the broker. Will never use again.

Im writing this review out of absolute disbelieve and anger.
We are a military Family that PCS d (permanent change of duty station) here on 16 August.
We had signed the papers to purchase a house in DeRidder on 1 July 2020 while still at our old duty station.
Once the inspector went through 2 things had to be done before the closing, an AC part and the Pool liner had to be replaced. When we arrived nothing had been completed on the repairs and the property was a mess inside and out. Hurricane Laura hit the end of August which set us back another 2 weeks.
Our house had 6 trees down and a few little things damaged. We where the last ones in that whole development to even get started on repairs and removal of the trees as of right now we don t know the status. Stopped driving by the house.
Stager STILL has the furniture in the house.....
As of right now we are still stuck in a hotel...hotel number 5 and still don t have any idea when we will get in the house. As of right now we are also up $2000 on our closing cost.
IF you want to close on a house in a timely manner DO NOT work with the broker CANDICE SKINNER. You will not be helped, you will not get answers, you will be in limbo, you will be losing money.

I have been a rental property tenant, since November, 2019. Candice Skinner and her entire staff have made the transitional period, between selling our home & building our new home, surprisingly, simplified. I am an extremely, determined person, who insists on getting my money s worth, regarding business matters. If I have a concern, issue, or, question, I expect a prompt response & resolution. I was amazed by the level of professionalism, promptness, &, no-nonsense, business ethic exhibited by Ms. Sumer Duplechain, during my recent home inspection! Ms. Sumer thoroughly & promptly provided me with answers to all of my questions and offered me instructions, regarding, not only the payment module of the rental property portal but how to use the service order module, within the portal, as well. As I pay my monthly rental fee, a week prior to it being due, I noticed a couple of months ago that the payment module did not reflect a balance due. I called Ms. Sumer and within 2 minutes, not only was I able to make my monthly rental fee payment, as desired, but was able to terminate our conversation with a sense of peace, because she explained the reason for the initial $0 balance that I had initially, incurred, upon logging into the payment module. As a tenant, I have experienced 2 home inspections, this far, the most recent was vastly, different than the first, with Ms. Sumer, at the helm of the inspection! She explained the process, upon arrival, and offered words of kindness and appreciation, to me, after examination of the home, which put my nervous, mind at ease. Thank you, Ms. Sumer, for raising the bar in the property management arena of Candice Skinner & Co.! I recommend y all to anyone who is in search of a rental property!

I've used Candice Skinner's property management since 2012. There have been minor hiccups which have been quickly addressed and corrected throughout the years. As with any professional relationship, communication is the key. I've always communicated to the property manager any concerns that I've had and they've done the same. I've made sure to visit the property every couple of years or if I couldn't make it, I've asked that they provide me with an update and/or photos when possible. I would certainty recommend their services to friends and family.

Every time I have had meetings or appointments with Candice Skinner Real Estate, I am always greeted with a smile and a warm face. It s so nice to go in a business and feel welcome

Sumer is the property manager and she was absolutely amazing to us. My family was relocating to the area from out of state and she was such a tremendous help in our transition. She is always friendly and responds quickly. She has helped answer all our little questions and help us along. She was even willing to meet us with our keys if we arrived on her day off. Above and beyond. So far we are pleased with the service she has provided to us and grateful to have found a home in the area, as they seem hard to find right now. Thank you Sumer!

Outstanding service, I had the pleasure of being helped by Miss Summer and she was amazing! She answered every question I had and was always available if I needed help with something. The ONLY reason I m giving this company 4 stars instead of 5 is because this is the first time we have ever went through a real estate company to rent a house. We usually go directly through the homeowners and I prefer that, I like to have that one on one communication with them. BUT if you have to go through a real estate company, this is the one you want to go through! Excellent service! Hard working!! Very helpful and patient! I highly recommend them! You will not be disappointed!

I can't believe she has a job. Scamming renters and home owners everyday. I will be reporting her to the better business bureau...

The people here were so helpful! They went above and beyond to find us the perfect house and helped us virtually before we were even in the state

Very PROFESSIONAL! EVERY NEED WAS MET! I would defiantly choose this REAL ESTATE COMPANY EACH TIME

After "managing" our property for 4+ years, it has been brought to our attention by a local friend that our house is in serious need of exterior maintenance and lawn care. Why I should have better knowledge of the current state of our property while we are OUT OF STATE, than they do, 20min down the road, is beyond me. Shrubs are far beyond the roofline(of our brand new roof & repaired gutters, grass is gone, and we are left with weeds and dead patches, flower beds & garden are completely overgrown with oaks tree saplings beginning, pet damage to the SIDING of the home, and damaged/deteriorating soffits FALLING down on corners of the house. These are just a handful of the issues readily visible. We still don't know the status of our interior, because NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO CALL ME BACK IN OVER A WEEK. And THAT was after speaking with the owner/broker, Candace Skinner herself. After speaking with her, I really thought we would receive some answers, and things would be taken care of. But after just getting off the phone with their....3rd?....property manager(Nadine?) in so many years....all I received was a half-hearted excuse about it being "too damp to mow." She also acted indignant that someone would be so upset over the lack of care shown, and proceeded to talk over me. There has been ZERO communication, and she actually asked me what we wanted them to do.... We WANT your office to DO THE JOB WE PAY YOU FOR.

At what point do you actually do the job you are being paid to do? Do you let us know that basic maintenance work is required before or AFTER the home has fallen into serious disrepair??? 1 star is very generous at this point. Now, we have to plan a trip to LA to assess the damage and make repairs.

We've been paying over $150 a month for a glorified middle-person to receive our rent checks. That's it. I wish I had paid attention to reviews before we entrusted Candace Skinner with the care of our home. I'll update when and if there is any resolution to this.

Candice Skinner Real Estate helped me to purchase a home several months ago. I had a great experience, and as a result I asked them to help me rent the home that I was moving from. They are now my property managers. Summer did a great job renting my place and is now actively managing it.

I bought a house in Deridder with the not so helpful Megan. I literally had to do everything! I called the inspectors And everyone involved with absolute zero help from the realtor. Oh she made recommendations of people for me to call and now 6 months later I still can t get a hold of them, like the inspector I payed did pre never did final!! Huh If the site allowed pics to be posted of the cover up work that was noticeable. in person it would have been a different story buying with this company! Very un-reliable and extremely unprofessional of a realtor company to let profits get in the way of realness! I can not believe that such a company is able to continue service in this area. If Jesus and god himself ever gets to see the terrible and un-American things that this company covers up they would be absolutely ashamed! Well thanks for the black mold and for the inspector who is on a mission in Africa and can t come re-inspect The house we bought. It s only been six months and all the plumbing needs to be replaced. Along with the covered up floors on all bathrooms and kitchen. I do not recommend because you will be buying a potential cover up! But if your looking for a kinda livable remodel well here s your business.

I inquired about the classes. Sumer was responsive at first she called the next morning. This was on a Thursday, she said she would be emailing me papers to review that day or Friday. Never received anything. I contacted her a week in a half later and told her I never received them, she reassured me she was still working on them and would send them asap. I never heard back from her at all and actually went ahead with another company and school. She's not very professional at all.

I've used Candice Skinner real estate since 2017. I ve had several property managers during that time frame. Summer has by far been the most responsive and professional I ve experienced. She is thorough and well versed on my property and everything that s wrong with it. Summer keeps me informed which I think benefits the tenants in order to provide prompt service to allow them to live comfortable. As with any professional relationship, communication is the key. I've always communicated to the property manager any concerns that I've had and she has done the same. I would certainty recommend their services to friends and family.

I would rather eat my jello pudding pops than use this company for a realtor.

Sumer Duplechain has been an absolute pleasure to work with. We have had some issues with our home and she was able to get us into a new home in a little over a week! We have been through many property managers in many different states and I must say that Sumer from Candice Skinner Realty is the most competent and charismatic person I have ever dealt with. With me deployed for 12 months in Iraq and dealing with Hurricane damage, Sumer's response time is amazing. She has giving me a peace of mind being away and I trust her to the fullest extent to get any job done. Sumer, if you are reading this, thank you so much for what you do.

We ve had an amazing experience all around. Ms. Summer has been incredible through this whole renting process. From viewing the home, getting approved, signing the lease & making payments, getting the keys and moving in was all within a few days, which is exactly what we needed after losing a home to Hurricane Laura. This home is perfect for our little family. She even was sure to check on us after Hurricane Delta came through to make sure we were safe and no damage had happened. We especially appreciate that the company has our homeowner as an employee, so they are in close contact if anything is needed ! Quality service and a quality home.

I have been doing my home purchases and sales with Candice for years and I will never go to anyone else.
She found our dream home and once we had to move with the military she also found the perfect tenants for us and handle the property management.
We also bought our commercial property with her and sold it by the time we had to leave town everything went smooth and perfect
Don't listen to bad reviews from people who want to bring her down just because she's the one real estate agent that doesn't belong to th big names

We were not given a chance to be a client. We entered the office late in the day and were greeted, unhappily, by two ladies who grumpily informed us that we were out of luck on finding any rental property with them. Neither of them were pleasant or helpful but more concerned with getting us out of there than being cordial. So THAT is why I've given your business a 1 star.

Candice and her client did not counter our offer on a house, nor did they acknowledge us with a simple "no." Terrible.
