I have been trying to collect a small claim for my mother for over a year now. I have invested over 10 hours and I am so frustrated. They still have not paid. she has been paying $15 a month for almost 20 years with no claims. She originally bought the insurance at a zellers store which this company bought when zellers went bankrupt. Tis company operates nefariously and uses the system to take advantage of seniors. If my mother had to go through this to get her money she would have died or given up. She has paid more in monthly premiums to date than her maximum potential claim amount. Filthy company. I am currently waiting on the phone once again to get information.

The experience I had with this insurance company was not so good at all. It was my worst experience ever. I joined and signed up with this company for my insurance so I could get insured in 2016.
For two years, I paid monthly to this wicked company and they never told me the condition that insurance was for full time employees not agent.
I worked with agency and not a full time job, I fell in the snow and I went for surgery and couldn't go to work for 7 months. I called this insurance company for my claim, however I was denied based on i work with an agency.
However, they never told me this for two years they've being taking money from my account.
I was sent form to fill, including doctors report, i was in crushes and couldn't go to work, I was still denied still. I wept that day. I can never ever recommend this insurance company to anybody. They rob me off badly.

If you need to get a hold of them call CIBC and they will put you though if that's the visa bank you are with! I called last week they are RUDE I wanted to know who authorized them to put this on my credit card and I got the runaround. Asked to speak with his manager and she is just as rude said they would start an investigation as to where I either verbally or written told them I wanted this coverage... I'm not stupid I never asked for it... Apparently if they can not locate either proof they are going to credit my visa back everything they have taken off it. I won't hold my breath. SCAM

Scammers. Working with CIBC to scam you of your hard earned money. Why automatically enroll people into the stupid payment protector and require them to cancel when you can make it voluntary. They are banking on your not noticing and claiming 30days have gone by. Was unable to get a refund from these scammers. Zero star.

Asked for a copy of my policy and after seven weeks it came incomplete - missing the most important data page which should tell you where your premiums go after turning 65 years of age. I have had this policy for 27 years - never missing a payment and this is how they treat us. Shame on them! God forbid if I ever had to make a claim. Think the whole thing is a scam. Cedar Rapids in U.S answers but cannot help. Going to stop making payments - maybe then they will return call! That's probably what they want - for my polict to lapse.

ALL LIES! I really hope people read reviews even before thinking of having insurance from this company. Watch out, you will have the worse experience of your life and regret it forever. Being with them for 4 years, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND. Don't waste your money here.

As I write, I have been on hold for 45 minutes starting at 4:05 EST. Three different voices have said they're busy "assisting other customers". I called yesterday and same thing. I did the 'callback' option and no one called. Yesterday, I received a notice that my AD&D premium was in arrears and requested a 3-month payment. TODAY, I received a Final Notice that says my insurance has been lapsed for non-payment. I pay by the month. Have for over two decades. Never missed a single payment in all that time. The last payment was taken 28 August 2020. The notice yesterday says I owe them a 3-month payment on Sept 6 = one week later? The same thing happened last month with our other policy. Same problem. What is going on? Our cards aren't expired. Every other account is just fine and up-to-date with other suppliers. I am not impressed. I "thought" I straightened out the other account issue but now I'm not so sure.

This insurance company had been charging my CIBC credit card every month with their Payment Protector Premium (plus tax). I never authorized or signed off on it. I called them and they said they would discontinue the insurance and mail me the paperwork confirming my cancellation. Still though, thanks for charging me all that credit. SCAM!!!

Absolute load of garbage. If you get a CIBC card, refuse their payment protector insurance.

OVERALL TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!
Company made unauthorized debits to my account, in excess of $600. The "customer service" reps were both ill-informed of policy and procedure and inefficient in their follow-up.

When I was supposed to receive my refund, I received yet another debit to my account in the same amount of the intended refund. When I called, they tried to convince me that it was "in the process of posting" and would revert back to a positive amount. I struggled to believe that because the amount also cancelled the credit available prior to the transaction.

I was never able to speak to a Supervisor directly. As it stands now, I still wait for resolution. This has been a completely abominable situation and I would suggest that anyone think twice before using this company. One word - FRAUD!
