On Wednesday the 03 March 2021, I was driving on the 410 to turn off on the Derry exit ramp when my back, right tyre on my vehicle blew. I never noticed any issues with my tyre but had to keep calm and steer safely off the highway and as far away as possible, from the exit ramp. I proceeded to change my tire (away from incoming traffic) but unfortunately, my rim was rusted shut and could not come off. I called CAA and a great guy by the name of Austin (I believe he was stationed either near Steeles or Derry), came to my rescue. He was so calming, reassuring and extremely professional and took care of my car. Austin had everything under control. Thank you Austin and CAA!!

I was very pleased with my CAA roadside service today. Thanks to Osama, the tow truck driver who arrived within 15 mins and provided efficient and friendly service. He practiced safety measure to get my car off the road. He also assessed the situation carefully and suggested the most appropriate way to get the car to the Auto shop. Best of all, he gave me genuine and valuable advice on how to avoid a similar situation from happening again.

I had a very bad experience with CAA roadside serv...

I had a very bad experience with CAA roadside service during a snowstorm about a month ago. They were irrational, each department contradicted each other, overcharged (said yes they did during a call afterwards but did not resolve properly), attempted demanding cash expecting me to search for an ATM in the snowstorm, caused me a great expense (had to pay for cab as well as they were leaving me stranded). More to the story but I ll leave it at that. Decades of paying yearly membership fees (they have my auto and ins. business also) & only twice called them (battery problems). It s just not worth it. They used to be great. They are not what they used to be.

UPDATE. Third attempt at posting. For some reason my post above keeps getting deleted. Is there proof needed? Ok then. I heard the cabbie say no quietly when tow driver was insisting on cash (like I carry hundreds on me?!) He apparently heard everything. The snowstorm put me in that predicament yet CAA wanted me to try and find a way to search for an ATM in the snowstorm? If needed I can tell further more details. The cabbie heard us when the tow driver upped the kilometres & I told him we (CAA rep & myself on the phone beforehand) already settled on the kilometres/cost calculating & I KNOW the kilometres (travelled there and back before, I know, and I am capable of google map calculations) & the price had already been quoted & he just ignored me and said HE would do the calculations and he upped it. He tried even a higher number at first then etc. etc. etc. When I got back in cab the cabbie said that was awful that he also just looked up kilometres distance from address to address and I was right. I said I know, but let s just get me home for now, I was shaking from nerves and freezing cold and groceries were in the car and I have many illnesses/disabilities, and other personal matters/things, and that I would deal with it later... Cabbie said they cannot force you to pay cash, they must be prepared for card payments. I said I know, and funny isn t it that when I refused to kill myself looking for an ATM machine or pay extra to you (cabbie) to drive me searching in this snowstorm, his excuse that he had no other way I could pay miraculously one appeared when I told him NO and I would call CAA rep again to see why such a problem and see what could be done. Cabbie laughed about when tow driver was on phone taking credit card and TIP was mentioned. I just ignored TIP mentioning. I actually had to just chuckle to myself between my pain, anxiety and exhaustion at that point. ...People, come on...

I had said in original shorter post there is more to the story but I ll leave it at that . I was led to tell more. There is also even more, but can I now leave it at this or not?

This is nothing against local offices, or the staff there. The terms and conditions that CAA the corporation enforce left me with a useless membership, and refused to refund any of membership because it was past their arbitrary 30 day policy. If I had know I would have cancelled before the renewal point blank. When I pointed out to the company that the membership I paid for is useless for me they said I could use the service if I was in a friend s vehicle. This is during a pandemic when we can t be in other people s vehicles. So I have 9 months of membership that is completely useless because they won t help with any roadside, we can t travel during the pandemic and I will never in my life use CAA again. I ve had CAA for a few years and only used it on one car once years ago. I feel like I wasted my money since. When I asked to have a complaint lodged with upper management the representative got snippy despite I told him this was not against him personally, but a step customers have to let a company become aware of displeasure with there policies. His behaviour sealed the deal, I will never deal with this company again regardless of the circumstances. I should have went with Canadian Tire roadside. I would have gotten my monies worth.

15 minutes in a dangerous situation.

15 minutes in a dangerous situation.
I got a flat tire on the highway and pulled over. I called and it took two minutes to select I was on the roadside, because of the menu speech. When I did, I was transfered elsewhere because I had called the wrong club. After that menu speech, I explained my situation again. I was told my payment information would be taken before I could receive assistance, as my membership expired two weeks ago. Then she had to transfer me again.

I am waiting, on hold, 12 minutes elapsed, on the side of the highway, for someone to pick up at the correct club.

Hope I don't get smucked by a truck. If this is the immediate service I'd hate to see anything else.
Truck was dispatched 15 minutes into the call. Not the operators' or drivers' fault. Too many transfers, too many menus, too little priority on client safety.

2 stars because when they do come, they're pleasant and helpful.
