As always the food was great the wait staff was very helpful. They had the windows open and the outside seating open, had a lovely time would highly recommend it.

Great food and unique atmosphere. One of the best restaurants in Richmond.
Good food, decent beer selection. Unique atmosphere.
Delicious spot that takes me right back to the streets of Paris. Very high quality food, pastries and coffee.
Always good, never disappoints and a hint, the mussels are amazing!
The decor of this place is great and a nice addition to Cary Street. We have only been for breakfast and brunch, but the crepes and benets are awesome!
Fairly pricey, but Richmond likes to have their "club" spaces. Can can is definitely in the upper echelon of the Richmond social scene. Go here for coffee in the morning, better than other Cary town coffee shops.
Always love the food here! this was my 4th or 5th trip and I had the soup de jour and it was fantastic!
Excellent drinks, great variety of breads and wine, good quality food and an amazing atmosphere and staff.
Amazing food and love the atmosphere of this old restaurant. (The bathrooms architecture are even awesome!) We love sitting up front near the windows that are open to the street to people watch and enjoy the outstanding French cuisine.
Excellent wine and food + outstanding customer service.
Great service food is delicious . Nothing I would ever hate about this place. A childhood restaurant to me and I would come here every week if I could. I am definitely coming back.
Got there about one, it wasn't busy. I will probably become a regular. The place has a cool atmosphere. Menu is similar to a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
A French atmosphere, the Can Can Brasserie restaurant has French flavors, in the most antipodean land, because although it was born from the birth of a new culture originating in England, it was also the cradle of North American independence and the birthplace of 8 American presidents , I am clearly referring to the State of Virginia and here in Richmond, enjoying an excellent lunch at 12:35 on this July 25, after a journey of almost 24 hours after waking up on the 24th at 03:00 in the Tomorrow to take the flight to New York, at 07:00 and arrive at 14:30 and see our connection to Richmond canceled by Delta and change the airport from the famous JFK to La Guardia and wait from 16:00 hours until 12:04 to board and finally arrive at 01:47 am at the airport and then at 02:49 finally enter Kristy's house who welcomes us in Cary Town, Richmond, Virginia.
Coffee and food is average. Employees not overly friendly and definitely overpriced. At least it's nice inside
Great place for oysters and wine with friends in a holiday afternoon.
A solid option for a nice night out! Bread is always fresh and delicious.
Early morning coffeehouse breakfast is such a gem. Never change!
Food was great but didn't think we were ever going to see it. Wait time for food was ridiculous. In a hurry....don't eat here!
This has been the "go to" restaurant in Richmond since its inception. The owners took every precaution needed to make this place a capsule of time and ambience. The food matches the ambience. If you have never thought to order "onion soup", I invite you to try the "benchmark". They have their own bakery producing fine crusty breads, and desserts. Everything from the soup stocks to the demi glace are prepared in house. You won't be disappointed.
Don't go to Can Can for breakfast! You have too wait in line to order your own food. Pick your own table. No on comes and cleans the table. So your sitting at a dirty table, flies all over while you wait for your food. I asked the 4 waiters standing around the front desk to clean off our table and they did nothing. Really! Nothing. Google dosen't offer zero stars or that would be my rating. I'm amazed at the rudeness
I had high hopes for this place. Let me say this, the atmosphere was lovely the waiter was perfect, they failed on the food. I ordered the duck breast mid-rare. They served it rare. The fat on the breast was still white and the skin had to crispyness to it. The risotto they served with had a raw bite, very unpleasant. The asparagus was terrible. They were very very skinny and one third of the stalk was yellow and woody, very woody! For 32.00 a plate this dish should have been perfection. It was not!
Our favorite restaurant in Richmond. Always satisfies, never disappoints.
Everything is fantastic here and the atmosphere is amazing!
If you're looking for a fun place to go with good food great atmosphere and the French influence this is definitely some place you want to visit. So come and definitely enjoy..
Love the coffee bar window for coffee and pastries. The food in the restaurant is excellent.
If your colored don't come, you will get bad tables. They WILL lie and say it's all booked until a specific time, but the whole restaurant is half empty. The salads and appetizers are good, but the entrees are either bland or too salty.
It was the absolute best to my daughter and I. The service and food was perfect!!!
Good service and everything seemed fresh. food was undercooked for what I ordered and how I asked.
Very attentive, food and drinks are amazing. A must go
Atmosphere is rusty and comfortable. The food is described well and intriguing. The actual food experience was average. Details matter in a competitive market. Volume seems to secure this business model not quality. For example the bathroom had 14 rolls of toilet paper stacked on the toilet tank, and I had the privilege of sharing said bathroom with my apron wearing server. Not a good look. The seed crusted salmon cooked medium, was served well done with a moist seed crust, which in itself is quite a difficult task, unless of course you precook the proteins and hold them hot under plastic film. Just a guess. There were positives to my experience, unfortunately those were overcast by average craftmanship. Maybe just an off night. Nonetheless, one less user of all that toilet paper.
Great Food and a great sommelier , But our server was terrible and lied his way out of his mistakes which were obvious. Had always had great experiences here in the past. Will give it another try of course
I visited this restaurant for a dinner w my fiance and it was awesome! Food and service is wonderful! Well worth your money!
Wait service is great! Attended a team Christmas lunch and I ordered the salmon...I wasn't impressed with the portion, it was 1/4 the size of salmon you would normally get anywhere...ripoff.
Came in at 4pm and could only order a couple of items on menu until 5pm. Very expensive.
Great for drinks after work , or a special occasion. The food and staff are amazing
Top notch wait staff and quality food. Fairly authentic I am told. Creme brulee was amazing.
Too fancy and rich for my tastes. I couldn't pronounce half the menu and the waitress had this subtle smug, condescending feel to her body language and voice intonation. Maybe I should have worn a tie and spoke French? Anyway, food was very good and almost perfect. Minor imperfections are a little more noticeable when paying top dollar for the food but nothing was so imperfect as to warrant comment on a public review. If you want fine high-end dinning it is probably what you are looking for.
Excellent service, excellent location, excellent food, excellent wines, excellent coffee. Escargot is delicious. Expensive though, just my wife and I dining out for our anniversary costed us an easy $120.Physical interior of restuarant is warm and inviting.
I had easily the best quiche I've ever had. Lobster quiche so light, fluffy and creamy it melted in your mouth. Service was a bit slow on Dunday brunch but it was definitely worth it for the quiche.
Amazing food at great prices. I always struggle with what to choose. Luckily their beer selection allows me time to drink, close my eyes, and put a finger randomly on the menu for a consistently fantastic meal.
Overrated food and experience. I've eaten here five times over the years, only one meal was good. The coffee is excellent.
I probably will not return! Food and service below average.
Can can was not only absolutely DELICIOUS, but the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, making a meal here delightful. Perfect for French lovers and enthusiasts alike. My husband and I came for a Saturday brunch, where I had the salmon and More
Lunch, Dinner, Dessert, or just a nice, relaxing cocktail, this spot has been a perfect fit every time that I've visited; either on a date with my wife, with our whole family, or with a business client, I always thoroughly enjoy this experience; a great find.
Nice atmosphere, great food, our waiterJack was very attentive. Friends meeting for First time in in 40 years.
Awesome restaurant with great atmosphere! The lunch, dinner and brunch menus are exciting and sure to please. I always get the escargot when available and have never been disappointed. I loved the steak salad, but don't think it is available anymore - too bad! We enjoy Can Can and think you will too.
Great location, friendly staff lovely, lively comfortable dining. The taste has fallen off from what I remember, the quiche as a little lacking in flavor and the fries were not as crispy as I remembered.
I got the Rockfish and the portion was way too small and over priced. My friend got steak and it was tough. Great atmosphere and service but overall I doubt I'll go back
Wedding rehearsal dinner was well organized and terrific on all levels.
Absolutely fabulous meal in RVA. Went for lunch during the watermelon festival and sat in the window to people watch while having lunch. The big windows they have along Cary St made for fantastic people watching!
The crispy oysters are a must. They are fried extremely well so they achieve an incredibly crispy outside and soft, juicy center full of oyster-y goodness. And the remoulade is just amazing. I want to go back just to have more of them! I had the steak sandwich, which was fine, if under salted a bit. The shoestring fries were excellent, and not just a side item to the sandwich. I would love to go back and explore the dinner menu!
Impeccable service. Scrumptious desserts. Cocktails on point. A piece of Paris in Richmond.
Excellent service, good and personnel. The staff was so friendly.
Beautiful historic restaurant! Loved the food and the service was great! I'd love to go there the next time I'm in town
Great atmosphere and friendly service. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options but the cheese plate was delicious and I had a very nice salad. A little expensive for what it is but still very nice overall!
very nice place but they need more breakfast item choices besides pastry and coffee. we were still missing our breakfast fullness by the time we left since we didn't get our eggs/ham etc... and yes they have those in France ;)
This was our first time dining at Can Can and we weren't disappointed. The ambiance was very charming and the service was excellent and our kind waitress was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the food immensely and from where we were seated, we were entertained by the friendly mixologist at the bar. We will be returning again!
Food was great. Recommend if around the area. Try multiple items.
Great food and wine selection and the service is excellent. Only negative is noise level making conversation a bit difficult.
A Richmond treasure. Consistently excellent food and service, and interior really makes you feel like you are in Paris.
Cary St. Place to see & be seen. Large menu selection, & friendly staff.
Sure it's a little pricey but the ambience, style, and atmosphere are unmatched by any other restaurant in Richmond. If you're any type of cosmopolitan you'll appreciate what this place is trying to do. They have happy hour and reasonable drink prices to boot. They don't do brunch. There's just nothing like Can Can.
We just moved to the Museum District and love our new neighborhood! This place is the perfect weekend spot for coffee, pastries and people watching.
Great atmosphere. Whether you are at the bar or table you cant go wrong.
The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. We had the smoked salmon tartine as well as the soft shell crab sandwich and they were both delicious. We will definitely return.
Sophie was an exceptional server. Perfect timing throughout the evening with food, drinks, and witty personality. Food and service off the charts!
Food is great and the staff dress up for Halloween. The staff are also very nice and the atmosphere is romantic and very French
Excellent...!! Good atmosphere, very attentive and courteous service.
Ben H is the best server in Richmond, ask for him when you dine here.
