OK. Unfortunately at the time of the stay an exterminator had to work. Wash house place and surroundings OK.

Very quiet and Idyllic campsite. Nice and shady campsites. Clean and well maintained sanitary facilities. Unfortunately contrary to the indication on the HomePage no bicycle rental! This is difficult in the seclusion for campers without a car or bike. Nearest supermarket on foot just over an hour away.

Have lived in a caravan on site for two days (five people). Very friendly at the reception, accommodation very clean, great location directly on the Lahn, inexpensive, great opportunities for hiking, shopping in the next town. Canoe tours can be booked directly at the campsite. Big compliments also to the extremely clean sanitary facilities! Very structured and friendly at the reception. Restaurant belonging to the campsite (breakfast / lunch / dinner) is really very recommendable!

The campsite is really nice on the Lahn. With a pool and playground, there is something for everyone. You can play in the Lahn and swim with your dog and go cycling. It is nice and quiet in the evening. There is also a bread service. The sanitary facilities are clean.
But if I then fully included the campsite snack bar / restaurant in the rating, there would only be 2 stars. Unfortunately a somewhat awkward staff, but friendly. Some of the food tasted good, e.g. my salad! But the pasta was too cold and not cooked through, my husband's schnitzel was baked too much. And consistently ALL PORTIONS TOO SMALL AND TOO EXPENSIVE. After eating you are more hungry than before, which I also said. It's a shame. What good is it if the plates look nice but the "content" leaves much to be desired.

Super nice and very quiet campsite. Very clean sanitary facilities. Located directly on the Lahn in the shadow of a hill, you actually wait every hour for Frodo and his community of the 9th ;-)
Very nice operator, unfortunately we were only there one night because we were passing through. A small pool and restaurant (to the prancing pony: D) is also available.
Dogs are welcome.
Fair price because everything is included.

A nice campsite, right on the river and a bit away from the main road. There are beautiful paths all around. The food is also good, the choice is not huge but adequate, as you mostly grilled camping. Toilets and shower area very clean despite many people.
For the little ones there is a playground and there is a pool where you can cool off

Very nice campsite in beautiful nature right on the Lahn. Great for families with children. Sanitary very clean and modern. Easy to reach all system parts. There is a swimming pool and a children's playground.
Bread service with very delicious rolls. The restaurant on the square is ok, for a drink it is great. The barbecue buffet is a nice idea but not yet developed.
There is also a self-service counter. All LTE addicts have to restrict themselves a bit.

Beautiful place with a great view. The staff could have been a bit friendlier therefore a star deduction. But definitely a recommendation to spend a little time there.

If you are looking for peace and relaxation, we believe that this is the right place for you : generous spaces and something for every taste, very nice welcome and a friendly innkeeper round off our perfect camping weekend. No deposit is required, which may cause some campers not to make a reservation. Unfortunately, WITHOUT canceling the reservation and that, dear friends of the sun, don't think so !!! Corona or not ..... that's Asi and makes it unnecessarily difficult for such great places!

We went to eat in the restaurant. All dishes freshly prepared, no ready-made schnitzel, the salad varied. I can only recommend. The place for people who are looking for peace, very suitable and also nicely laid out.

Great little camping. Spotless toilets and showers, small restaurant/pub, quiet. Shallow river to have a splash in. Pool on site.

Sporty place. The annual Auenland Adventure Race is organized here. A fantastic event that demands the utmost from the participants who cycle, canoe and run for 8, 12 or 24 long in a wide and wooded area not far from NL. The campsite exudes sportiness and hospitality. All very relaxed.

Have used CP as a stopover for 1 night. Super friendly welcome! Come again. Oh yes, the rolls were delicious.
And one more thing: sanitary super clean.

Everything OK. The food was good and the drinks too.

In August 2014, we camped at Auenland for a good week. Our experience was certainly positive. The campsite is on a beautiful river where children can play (if the water is not too high) and where you can also go canoeing (if the water is high enough). There is also a lot to do in the immediate area. From hiking in the woods and hills to visiting various nice cities (Marburg is only 12 km away).

Facilities at the campsite are up to date and the hostess (the host was away during our vacation herself) is helpful and welcoming.

The campsite has camping spots that are very different from each other. Some are close together while others offer a lot of privacy. The camping sites right on the river are the most quiet. You won't hear the road (N62) there either. However, if you need electricity there, in most cases you will need to bring an extension cable (or borrow it from the campsite).

Very nice campsite. You also feel very welcome with dogs. For larger laps we had to drive away a bit, but the Lahn valley offers many opportunities for hiking. And finds in the slate

Despite the superior equipment, the price was not too high. Toilet and shower or rather the complete sanitary facility is up to date and free of charge. Very nice location. Shire, the name fits. If you want to relax, this is the place for you.
Which is why I don't give 5 stars. Well, with all my love for rest, I am also a little online person and you can forget that on the court. You can only go online via WiFi at the restaurant. I left my satellite dish at home for TV and thought a DVBT antenna was enough. Puff cake, practically no reception. But as I said, it is the only drawback. Maybe something changes at least with the online reception, so-called range extenders usually help.
Everything else highly recommended.

Quite ok, but if you book a whole meadow as a group and then the 4 best places are assigned externally, that's not okay .....

Nice campsite in a great location. Very modern and very clean sanitary facilities. We stood almost directly on the Lahn, and to the delight of our children not far from the playground, which they really liked. The pool also looked great, was just too fresh for us :), but in summer it is definitely wonderful.
There was also a bread service. Reception was very nice and everything was very uncomplicated.
The place is a great starting point for hiking and our dog felt very comfortable, as you are in the field in a few steps.
We had a great weekend in the Shire and will definitely be back!

We have removed this campsite from the Premium Camps directory. We received this guide in the summer of 2013 at camping Wirtshof on Lake Constance. Because we liked this campsite, we went to Im Auenland.
Upon arrival we were shocked, because from the road you see annual pitches that are not all equally flourishing (old caravans) and a lot of flags. The reception looks a bit awkward (small garden shed). Furthermore, excellent reception. We had reserved a place and we could choose from several places. The place was fine. Well maintained grounds. Very good sanitary facilities, the 9.4 score from the ANWB Camping Guide of 2011 is no exaggeration. Showering and using hot water for washing up works via a kind of credit card. Works very well. You can recharge yourself at the sanitary building.
We had a great week from 19 to 26-04-2014. We did miss a few things;
- an information leaflet about the campsite, stating, for example, the times between which you can pick up the ordered sandwiches; what time the reception is open; what time the kiosk annex 'restaurant' (beer garden) is open and what you can get there. A baker will come by on Friday, but you will not hear that.
- information about where, for example, the nearest shops / supermarket is.
- we also missed a small camping shop

I can only recommend it, here you are still welcome as a guest and even get an extra sausage ... in our case extra salad ...

We stayed here during the summer and were very impressed. The campsite has everything you could need, the washing facilities are well looked after and clean, there is a play area and small pool too.
On arrival we were given a choice of plots, and could order bread for the morning. We were given a leaflet about the campsite and the surrounding area so we knew straight away where the nearest supermarkets were and could get ourselves organised.

Though they don't advertise that they speak English, one lady - who I assume was the site owner - spoke very good English and was able to help us with all our enquiries. They were also very patient with my dreadful attempts to speak German.

You need to pay for hot water, and this is done by means of a pre-paid card, though any money left on the card when you check out is refunded back to you. The showers, sinks and washing machine are accessed using the card.

The site is well maintained, and if we visit the area again, wouldn't hesitate to book in here again.

Nice big lots. Well-kept area with nice staff. Very helpful. The on-site inn is good value for money. Everything clean in the sanitary area.

We spent a total of 14 days in the fall of 2018 at this campsite. The course is idyllically situated on the Lahn in the Lahn valley at the foot of a mountain. You can choose very natural places on grass or pitches More

As always top, very well-kept area, good food, if you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll find it here. Great landscape ideal for cyclists but also great for children, playground, large pool or a small river for swimming. Large barbecue area everything your heart desires.

Very quiet and pleasant place. Very beautiful trees, beautiful pitches and a very well maintained sanitary building. Gastronomy at the place and highly recommended. No 10 minutes by car from Marburg. The owners are very nice and helpful. We felt very well and will come back. All in all 5 out of 5 stars !!!!

A very nice campsite. We were there to explore Marburg and can say that although Marburg cannot be reached on foot, the distance by car is hardly worth mentioning and is certainly easy to do by bike.
The place is right next to the Lahn and absolutely quiet at night. The country road is also not noticeable during the day. The sanitary rooms seem very new and are also very well maintained.

Nice, small, idyllic campsite.
Our children had a lot of fun on the small stream that runs through the middle of the square.
The parking spaces are nice and large and are located directly on the Lahn.
The wash house is clean and not too far away.
There was no internet or cell phone reception, but that didn't bother us. On the contrary: slowing down from everyday life.
We would love to come back.

A signpost from the direction of Biedenkopf would be nice. When you see the campsite lying in the distance with all the structures of regular guests, you do indeed wonder where you will end up, but in the end it is not so bad, although the access to the campsite does not look very hospitable and the eye also wants something. The pitches are spacious, often with a paved area so that the caravan is immediately in good shape. You have to walk a little far to water taps and a simple tube on it would save you a lot of trouble. The sanitary building is fantastic and also very well arranged with electronic passes that record your consumption exactly, so no waste of water and energy and no wasted money. We would have liked to eat something in the restaurant but couldn't really find the entrance, nor a menu outside, so here too our advice is to make everything more inviting and accessible. All in all we are quite satisfied, especially because of the peace and quiet we experienced, although it must be said immediately that there were hardly any "regular guests" on the campsite at that time, so we don't know what it is like. Highly recommended with comments.

Very nice campsite, directly on the Lahntalradweg. Camping is adjacent to the Lahn. Great tent meadow, well-kept area. Nice locality on site.

For me it was also very nice, and the most important thing, the sanitary facilities are clean! That's why I want to go back in May! I hope it works with the booking with the nice couple!

We cannot award the 6th star because of the rats in the reception and restaurant area, that's a no-go !!!

Ambience great. Food mediocre. The fries were almost cold, not crispy and too dark. You couldn't eat. The salad was very slack and there was no baguette with it.

We were passing through and stayed one night. We always have our dogs with us, that was no problem. I asked extra if there is a quiet corner and we got a nice shady corner right on the Lahn. Here, the dogs were also in the river, gorgeous. The campsite is only good. Very clean sanitary facilities, dog toilets distributed throughout the campsite. There is a small pool and there is free Wi-Fi at the front desk. Shire is program, the paths are named after the lands of Lord of the Rings. I found that cute. All in all a run with love decent campsite you can fully recommend.

Very nice quiet place on the Lahn. For children a great playground, both the Lahn, the pool and the existing playground. Places big and some also with shade. Restaurant with small menu on site. Also self-service outside the opening hours. To get ice cream too. The sanitary facilities are well maintained. The scullery a bit small but adequate. We recommend. And our daughter is already pushing for repetition, which we will gladly follow.

Well, unfortunately it looks a little unloving. The place can score with excellent sanitary facilities! Top washroom, shower and toilet are new and well maintained. Unfortunately, the playground and the grill area (right next to each other) need some attention in maintenance and cleaning. The gastro tries to score with a small menu and homemade dishes. It just didn't convince us, too bad ....

Friendly staff. Lady speaks Dutch. Nice help. Spacious places. Clean sanitary facilities and completely corona proof. Mouth mask required. Shower curtains were less so the cubicles were very small. Tent floor had some stones.
