Camping Europa Torre del Lago Review

We decided to come here on the first sunny weekend of this year. We arrived around 11.30, we asked about the shuttle and the lady at the reception said "sure, come here and c and say it". Well, once settled, around midday we returned asking kindly about the shuttle, the same lady told us that there is in an hour .... So we came back and we had to take the car. In the evening we went to eat at the restaurant on the campsite (good pizza) and the girl had to go to the bathroom, they told us that they don't have a bathroom (both the bar and the nearby restaurant) and that we have to use the bathroom on the campsite .. In the morning we sent the little girl to get two coffees and a pastry and she came back saying that it all cost 3 euros and on the receipt there was written 1 euro ...
Disappointed ... Too bad because the campsite is very nice, the swimming pool wonderful, the pool boy very kind.

In my opinion, for the quality / price ratio, it is the best in the area, always clean bathrooms large and shaded pitches, always friendly and helpful staff. Undertone animation, maybe !, I don't attend and I don't care.

Friendly staff. However, I found the places for camping not so great. I was the system much too big.

Excellent facilities. I visited in September. Bar and shop were running down stocks for the Winter. I had to walk to the nearest town for supplies. Pool was closed. But I guess in high season these wouldn't be problems.

Clean and tidy campsite with friendly staff. Overall I personally didn't like it because of the distance from the sea. There is a shuttle service but we found it not very comfortable with a small child. I would not recommend for those who want to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday, come and go as they become laborious. Nice pool that fills this lack. Take a discreet way, inaccessible prices instead the mini market where 6 bottles of water are sold at 4.50 euro ... !!!!

Fairly nice campsite and really cheap for large tents pitches with 2 people and the car + electricity and swimming pool access included 31st per day in the middle of August! One of the cheapest in the area and possible to go without a reservation.

Well shaded, grass and sand.

Mini Supermarket, restaurant, snack pizzeria and various take-away dishes (lasagna, meat, ...)

Possible to barbecue at its location and a small area dedicated to this with tables to eat next to it.

Animations (sports and leisure)

Free shuttle to the beach (1 km away) in the campsite every 30 min otherwise you cross a path in the pine forest just in front of the campsite to access it, allow a good 20 minutes walk otherwise 10 min by bike (free bicycle garages all along the beach).

Free and open beaches and Italian-style bagno paying with Transat, parasol, ... counting 6th in the Transat for the day.

The beaches are wide and over several km we are not tight against each other!

You will find there many restaurants and bars, including a few for gays!

Not far from the Torre del Lago Puccini lake but plan to take a bike or bus because there are very long straight lines on foot!

IDEM to go to Viareggio (about 3 km) or along the seaside promenade there are many restaurant bars and where to go shopping (luxury boutiques or a little less prestigious) you can walk for several km until forte dei marmi (the corner of St Tropez!), equipped cycle paths.

AVOID CARS AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE PARKINGS (few and not very large!) CAN COME BACK QUICKLY BUT ESPECIALLY VERY VERY EASY TO FIND FREE SPACES !!
You can turn long enough and few roundabouts to turn around, lots of one way streets.

Buses to Viareggio (even at night only during the summer period) run regularly near the campsite, another for Pisa and Lucca every hour is about 1.5 km from the campsite.

There is also the train station in torre del lago or viareggio to get to these same towns or to the 5 lands (la spezia), Florence, ...

AVOID PISA BY CAR (or park in large car parks outside the city!) Because it is a LIMITED TOURIST ZONE that is to say that if you enter the city with your vehicle and you are not resident you will receive a fine at home (which will follow you to France) of 120th !! It hurts!!
You cannot escape it the city is riddled with cameras that take photos of your license plate, full of one-way streets and so if you pass through the center several times you multiply the fine by that number of times !!) GOOD TO KNOW!!

FOR Florence by car it is rather the traffic which is very complicated and the Italians do not respect the highway code very much and are quickly very very nervous !! Lol

Beautiful accommodation (glamp), more protection of the roof would be welcome (the light comes in from 5.00), bed cushions too high and uncomfortable because they are too rigid, all in all very nice accommodation.
Poorly stocked bar for breakfast, take way bonooo restaurant.
There is no hot water tap.
Too many mosquitoes.

Small campsite with many permanent campers, the last 3 rows of pitches are extremely affected by the road noise, directly behind the campsite, the main road passes. The pool is in the preseason just enough, unfortunately swimming caps mandatory. It is all there is what you need but the noise and the long way to the beach (3km) through the forest with the bike easily clouded the experience then it comes to the almost every attachment in the forest light ladies waiting for customers. You can do that but you have to go to the shuttle bus.

Very nice camping, clean and well organized. If it were possible to improve the Market

Very quiet and nice campsite to spend a few days. The parking spaces for mobile homes / vans are spacious and well shaded by trees. The staff at all points (mini market, restaurant, reception) is always friendly and speaks good English. Prices for showers etc are okay, especially as they are cleaned several times a day. From 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., there is silence and driving is prohibited, as is the case between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The beach is within walking distance (~ 1.5km), but it is more relaxed and faster by bike. Bicycles can also be rented for 6 / day or you can bring your own if possible.

I like the mosquitoes. They feasted upon me. I gave myself to them. Everything very pleasant on the site. I particularly liked the Benny Hill style music played over the tanoy like some NeoStalinist auditory hallucination.

Pitches for medium insufficient campers, all very close including the internal roads at times impassable. Not suitable for medium to large campers.

Great. We enjoyed it. Good availability and services up to par.

Good campsite, friendly and helpful managers. In the chalet there are no hooks for hanging clothes and a basket for recycling would be useful. Pretty expensive market and bazaar, good pizza. Good bar, prices like outside (coffee, brioches and pastries). Overall the stay was positive. Beaches about an abundant km away

A clean and well-kept camping. Well connected with the city. Cool sports facilities, brilliant sanitary facilities. Wi-Fi flashes like crazy everywhere. There are rabbits running all over the field

The camp deserves more stars, nice and you eat well, but you can't ride on the bike path to reach the city with the children doing the slalom among the trans women who prostitute themselves during the day! Sin.

Accommodations are good, but the food in the restaurant is not even worth a star. You should not rely on the kitchen and would rather cook for yourself. Whether they can cook or not, it will definitely taste better than what the chefs call food here.

We had nice days there. The showers are warm and the sanitary facilities go too. with a large caravan it is a bit of a shuffle because the access roads are very narrow. No direct beach location you should go by bike, about 15 minutes on foot.

well organized camping where you are always good! Clean and with a restaurant that really deserves! Council to bring the bicycle (in case they rent it or there is a shuttle service) to cross the beautiful pine forest leading to the beach! !! highly recommended!

The campsite can recommend it quietly :) Everyone was very kind to us, without problems, the bungalow was large and clean. Before leaving we were given a wine that I found a very nice gesture. The living room I remember well (sorry for my Italian :).

Well organized campsite, with plenty of trees for shade. Had different sizes of pitches with different pricing. Nice if you have a smaller tent. Nice bathroom facilities with hot water for doing dishes at set times. Walking distance from beach advertised on the website was a bit optimistic, but there is a free shuttle. Took food from the the restaurant to go. Pasta was amazing, pizza not so.

Large campsite, friendly staff, coins for the shower, nice swimming pool with swimming cap.

Positive notes of the campsite: animation, because the animators could keep my children occupied all day long without problems. The swimming pool: big and also space to 'outside. The temperature: because the campsite is very wooded, it has a very pleasant temperature.
Negative notes: the chalet: too small in particular the children's room which was as big as the bathroom and the kitchen equipped with very few tools and stoves. The location: too far from the sea and from shops and supermarkets. Very small market.

This has the makings of perfection, miles of white sand, forest and dunes.
If you like discos then this is for you, in the high season you can party all night.
They issue a shower token free for your first shower and now we know why, you get about 1/3 of a showers worth of time and no real warning, so end up walking back through the site covered in soap :-(
The pool requires hats, at a cost of a little over 3 Euros per head.
Actually the site is well placed and has ample space, the trouble starts at night as the bars turn out all night it seems, so don t camp at the last two rows as there is an arterial road which keeps you entertained by yelling drunks all night.
We planned 2-3 maybe 4 nights but left early in the morning after the first. I think if we had managed to get a pitch further in it may have justified the near 50 Euros per night, as it was it is not worth more than 10

The part is slightly noisy. Close to the state road. For the rest ok.

It is the third year that we have stayed at this campsite, we went as a couple in a tent and we really enjoyed it; we returned with our first child to the chalet and apart from the small room with the small and stuffy bunk bed, the rest went well; this year we spent a wonderful holiday in 4, staying in a mobile home. The strengths are certainly the courtesy, the cleanliness, the good food in the restaurant (also available in the take away version), and the unforgettable wild beach practically impossible to find in the rest of Italy. I think we will come back again ...

Stayed very late in the season but reception should have been clearer on the lack of facilities, had they explained we would have wild camped near the beach for free! Pool looks like it s been shut forever, shop was basically non existent and the bar was rubbish with the lady serving rude & dismissive but did eventually serve a beer and told us to sit outside. Scruffy, run down site. Not a happy camper

We had a great time. We stayed in the mobile home and there were no problems with the accommodation. Reasonable market and pizzeria prices. Beautiful pine forest and the beach (you can go either in one of the bathrooms or on the free beach). If you have small children the sea on foot is a bit distant but there is an efficient shuttle service.

I state that the camping formula does not make me crazy, but since they had wooden chalets for 6 people and the price was more than reasonable I got myself taken to spend 4 days in mid-July.
the service is good the chalet was perfectly air conditioned, the bathroom left a little to be desired, especially the shower, very small and consequently if you turned around you would automatically close the water knob.
Convenient to reach immediately after the motorway exit.
Also to get to the beach, you cut through the pine forest and in half an hour on foot you arrive safely.

we have always been in love with this lovely campsite, perhaps for its location near the pine forest, for the unsurpassed cleanliness of the services, for the double swimming pool (extraordinary donuts often arrive) or for the shuttle to the beaches, well-stocked market, excellent gastronomy and the restaurant, after years of frequenting it (about ten), we feel like family

Big complete camping with animation and swimming pool, stayed there at the end of June when it was not very busy.
Wouldn't want to be there in the high season but that applies also to the surrounding campings, it's all about mass. Sanitary clean but not great, need coins for hot showers and no hot water at the sink not even for doing the dishes.

I have been coming to this campsite for years, clean, tidy and an area served by all necessities

Nice campsite with shuttle bus to the sea (free) sand places which we liked less. The toilets are very clean and well maintained. Staff is a bit unfriendly rolled their eyes when we asked something. Warm water is not included but electricity already with ADAC card we have paid 17 tent car 2 people in September. Beach very nice sandy beach.

As soon as we arrive the first impression is positive. At the end of the week I will be more precise

The restaurant is under all cannon, you should really think about eating there. The food is usually far too little, greasy and just not tasty. The rooms or Wohncontainer are very small and there are no blankets offered, not even in late autumn. The rooms are nevertheless clean.

Very cheap. Bathrooms always clean. Too bad that some rude people mortify the work of the ladies. The restaurant inside the campsite deserves a commendation. Staff very very courteous and helpful

A beautiful, quite lively campsite with a pizzeria, mini market and ice cream shop just 1 km (15 minutes walk) from the beach. A shuttle bus commutes but every 30 minutes from the campsite to the beach. The place is covered with trees, which donate enough shade. The wash houses are typical open location. Nothing special, but clean and adequate. Disadvantage is that you need a coin worth 50 cents for a shower of just 4 minutes. Otherwise, the place is recommended ...

We were guests of the campsite for a week in this hot summer and we were really happy with it. The welcome was excellent, starting with the people who control access to the campsite (and ensure its safety). We have placed our camper (2 adults and 2 children aged 10) in a very shady pitch, not huge but large enough to accommodate a mat, bicycles and all our necessities.
Above all, I would like to underline the courtesy of the staff and their willingness to find a solution to particular problems that we have encountered (in spite of the high season and the beautiful campsite in Pienotto). During our stay, one of us had a health problem due to the extreme heat. Immediately there was attention in providing us with an air-conditioned bungalow for the remaining days, at really fair and honest economic conditions. New bungalow, clean, tidy and perfectly suited to our needs. Thank you very much to all the people who run the campsite.
I would not go too far so I go for points:
PRO
- kindness, courtesy and availability of all the staff
- free and free swimming pool, clean, suitable for everyone and constantly monitored, with grace and discretion
- sanitary always clean and in more than adequate numbers
- free beach and splendid sea, I recommend crossing the pine forest on foot: a 10-minute walk in the shade that prepares you for a dip or a shower ;-)
- well-stocked market, quality products
- excellent restaurant, succulent fish dishes, very correct prices (really generous portions) and very kind staff
AGAINST, going to nitpick ...
- sometimes the pool is a little "lively", but what the heck, if you don't have fun and let yourself go on vacation! Never suffered coarse behavior, however.
- the kitchen equipment of the bungalow is a bit skimpy

We stayed one night at this campsite. The tent was ok. The bathrooms are clean and the market and the restaurant are at fair prices. On the other hand you need tokens for the shower (1 per night for 4 minutes), you need swimming caps for the pool, and there are schedules to respect for noise (from 13h to 16h nap mode ...)

Women and men sinks not separated; generally D / H showers / toilets not well separated from each other; Otherwise large campsite, enough space, water available everywhere, all in all good

Unfortunately the street is quite noisy at night. Otherwise a nice campsite with clean washrooms and pool (which you can only use with a bathing cap)

We were there in August 2019 and I must say the first is the last time a campsite without regulation disorder to avoid at 10.30 pm they talk to the speaker they do not think there are children sleeping there they frighten my son was sleeping so there are many faults

Nice place, quiet and relaxing. I took the wooden cabin with air conditioning, bathroom and kitchen, uncomfortable pillows. Fairly poor animation. So-so pizza.

The welcoming hosts clean and tidy. Everything is very simple but it feels good.

Camping very friendly, the chalet 2 people has designed well enough and we sleep very well. The pool is very nice, the campsite is quiet during the day and the animations at night wake it up. We are next to Viareggio and 30 minutes walk from a beach that is certainly not great but not suitable for lovers of waves.
