There are not enough good words to use to describe how wonderful this camp, the staff, and the owners at Towanda are. My nephew goes there along with my son and I wish I could go back in time and go there myself.

My kids didn't like this camp There are better camps out there. The owners do not treat the children "as their own" as they endlessly claim and are not the caring "summer parents" they say they are.

I send both of my children to this camp AND attended Towanda as a child. The facilities are absolutely beautiful and the program is action-packed with sports, fun activities and campy spirit. The owners are also the directors and they make you feel incredibly connected to your child's experience through communication, pictures and a great weekly highlight video. Alumni keep coming back and make the place rich in history and tradition. In a time when our kids are plugged into their devices and are missing learning the social and life skills we once had...camp is the best gift you can give your children. The values that Camp Towanda teaches our children are more important today than ever before. My kids love it here and I feel lucky giving my children this opportunity each and every summer.

I just happened to read some of the reviews below; Camp Towanda is everything you want in a camp; professional, inclusive, family oriented, very nurturing, high quality personalized care, terrific and offers exciting programs. Camp Towanda is the place to be and is home to many campers, staff, and alumni. As a former camper and counselor myself; I can tell you this place positively impacts so many campers and staff. So much so, I send my kids there now so it was and still is very special, great and the very best.

If I could give no stars I would. kid didn't like it at all. Clique-y and unfriendly staff and atmosphere. Extremely rundown facilities and outdated bunks/sports fields/equipment. Seemed to have too many kids per bunk - maybe a fire haxard? Lack of safety measures-- example: was required to pack safety gear for certain sports, but my daughter said no one was ever required to wear any safety gear plus no time to put it on.. Highly usual policy given that young children are involved. Poorly run summer camp and would never trust Mitch and Stephanie Reiter ever again. Plus, they are completely obsessed with getting as much money out of the camp as possible. As one reviewer said, it's a money grab. Shame that they don't also actually care about the campers. I think the prior management DID care and the new owners are cashing in on the built-up good will. Im very dissapointed.

Worked for Camp Towanda in the summers of 2018 and 2019. It was a really lovely family-oriented environment, ensuring everyone was included and felt a part of everything. Everyone works so hard to give the best summer and opportunities to the kids that go. Would definitely recommend!

I'm sorry for the long and sobby post but it has been a while

I ve wanted to talk about this for a while but as the post-camp blue set in it was time to express my true love for camp. When I tell people I get to spend my summers in Pennsylvania they have so many questions. But no words can truly describe how amazing and how much this camp has done for me and how special the people they put into my life are. I could talk about this place for days on end (my friends are pretty tired of hearing about it.) This camp has even me the confidence to be my genuine and complete self, to go everywhere without makeup on, and showed me that I am good enough and strong enough for whatever life puts in front of me. Never in my life have I been appreciated and told how amazing I was on the daily. I was constantly reminded by my co consular/best friends how much I matter to them and in this life and how good at sports I was, etc. My co consular/best friends are some of the best people I ve ever met and it was truly a privilege being able to call them my good friend. I ve never had so many people be so supportive and a shoulder to cry on no matter the time or situation. Everybody at this Camp has such a good heart and always have such a positive attitude. As for my fellow GG s, the girls who I lived with for 8 weeks straight in our secret place called a yurt, I am the most thankful for you all. I have never gotten so close to 8 other girls in such a small period of time. These girls were the most supportive and down to earth girls on this earth. The nights we all stayed up talking about our problems and hyping each other up. The nights we all sat on the ground in the middle of the yurt eating cheese balls and crying because honesty we deserved it and being a girl is hard. God gave me 8 other sisters this past summer from all over the world and it's a relationship nobody else will truly ever be able to understand. This past summer was a summer of building the most amazing friendships with the literal best people from all around the world, and friendships that will last a lifetime. Thank you Camp Towanda for changing my life and showing me my worth and place in this world. Towanda is my happy place
