I went to tel yehuda from 1984-1987 and still think of my wonderful time there and my dad's tearful, joyous response to our shirra and rikkud at parents weekend. I thought Mel Reisfield was the most charismatic and inspiring person I'd ever met and wish I'd been more mature and receptive to the camp's lessons about a Jew's important place in the world. Now, at 46 my 11 year old is interested in TY and I hope she finds the bedrock foundation to her Judaism at Tel Yehudah that I did . Thank you and come visit our small but active congregation in Greenville NC

About Camp Tel Yehudah

Camp Tel Yehudah: A National Teen Leadership Camp of Young Judaea

Camp Tel Yehudah is a national teen leadership camp of Young Judaea, a Zionist youth movement in the United States. The camp is located in Barryville, New York, and has been providing an exceptional summer experience for Jewish teens since 1947. With its unique blend of fun activities, meaningful learning experiences, and opportunities to make lifelong friendships, Camp Tel Yehudah has become one of the most sought-after summer camps for Jewish teens.

At Camp Tel Yehudah, we believe that every teenager has the potential to be a leader. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where teens can explore their passions and develop their leadership skills. We offer a wide range of activities that cater to different interests and abilities. From sports and arts to outdoor adventures and community service projects, there's something for everyone at our camp.

One of the things that sets us apart from other summer camps is our focus on Jewish values and traditions. We believe that Judaism provides a rich framework for personal growth and social responsibility. Through our daily programs, Shabbat celebrations, and Israel education sessions, we help our campers connect with their heritage in meaningful ways.

Another unique aspect of Camp Tel Yehudah is our commitment to social justice issues. We believe that young people have an important role to play in creating positive change in the world around them. That's why we offer opportunities for our campers to engage with issues such as environmental sustainability, human rights advocacy, interfaith dialogue, and more.

But perhaps the most important thing about Camp Tel Yehudah is the sense of community that we foster among our campers and staff members. For many teenagers who attend our camp each year from all over North America (and beyond), it's like finding a second family – one where they feel accepted for who they are without judgment or pressure.

Our staff members are carefully selected based on their experience working with teenagers as well as their commitment to Jewish values and social justice causes. They undergo extensive training before arriving at camp so they can provide top-notch programming while ensuring camper safety at all times.

In addition to traditional summer sessions (which run from late June through mid-August), we also offer specialty programs throughout the year such as winter retreats or weekend getaways designed specifically for alumni or prospective new families interested in learning more about what makes us special!

If you're looking for an unforgettable summer experience where you can have fun while making lifelong friends AND developing your leadership skills AND exploring your Jewish identity AND making a difference in the world – then look no further than Camp Tel Yehudah!
