I went here for two nights with my school for a band camp and we had a great time! The cabins are heated and well taken care of, but there was evidance a squirrel or other small animal might have made a nest inside. The food is amazing, and a lot of it is made right at camp. The bread is especially good. Also, there are options for people with special dietary needs which are not of lesser quality. Tables did have to be set and cleaned by us, but this isn't hard and is a standard at most camps. I went during April and there was quite a bit of mud and some flooding, but the grounds look nice and the beach is a good size. I would guess the trails and property are well maintained when nature doesn't get in the way because even now they weren't bad. The staff are super friendly here and made a great effort to get to know us. They remembered activities we mentioned and asked follow up questions days later, making me feel very well welcomed. During campfire the staff put on a great interactive preformance and never lost their spirit. My only concern is to make sure cabins all have a proper amount of paper towel and are swept before a group comes in. While they are well maintained, a bit of cleaning would be a massive improvement.

Camp Tawingo
Went here for a school trip and it was awful. The cabins we used were not heated or insulated, and we nearly froze. The washrooms in the cabins were horrendous. The food also wasn t very good. One of the logs to sit on by the fire broke in half when we were using it, it was elevated quite a bit and me and several others fell. I went back in 2014-2015 hopefully the place has been updated since, just remembered how my time there was and thought I should write a review.
Country road, take me home. To the place where I belong. Camp Tawingo, Eagle Mountain, take me home, country road.
I came home over a week ago from my 10th and sadly last year, Camp is an amazing place that I have loved since i started at age 7, its a friendly and amazing place and I have loved every moment of it, from out-trip to eating crispyclusters I am going to miss this place. Thank you Tawingo for changing my life <3
This place deserves more than 5 stars but sadly you can only give 5. Im about to leave (tommorow acculy) for my 8th year there and first time at secon sesion. Ive had a countdown since the end of June thats how happy I am.
I love camp Tawingo! It's only my 3rd year but I love this place. If you're thinking about going it's seriously recommended!
this was my 7th year this summer going to camp tawingo and i would give it beyond 5 stars. i don't know what i would do without camp!
I went here with school in grade 7 in the spring for a week. I remember it being great, the first day was a little boring though. It was a nice place though and the staff were great!
IF YOU'RE THINKING OF SENDING YOUR KID TO CAMP I RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILD, YOU WILL NOT PUT THEM THROUGH THIS TORTURE. HERE ARE THE FOLLOWING REASONS 1. The counsellors are arrogant (when I got to this camp, they took our bags and threw them at us) 2. They expect you to clean up your own dishes, wipe down the tables and set all of the tables 3. They do not wash their dishes properly. (I was about to take a sip from my cup and there was left over food sitting at the bottom of my cup and I showed it to the councellor and he said "too bad") 4. They reuse their food. (I saw them take mayonnaise and scrape it back into the jar while it was left out on a table for about 20 minutes and there was a hair in it as well) 5. The councillors didn't take their job seriously 6. They get mad if they give you hard instructions and you don't follow them to the max IF YOU THINK OF SENDING YOUR KIDS HERE. THINK AGAIN! I JUST GOT HOME AND I AM STARTING MY THERAPY SESSIONS TOMORROW.
My children love coming to Camp Tawingo! It is always the highlight of their summer. They are looking forward to coming back to spend another summer with their friends and counsellors.
My son has been going to 3rd Session for two years now and loves it. My brothers and I went as kids and had great experiences as well. 2020 should be another great year.
