When my husband and I were envisioning out wedding...

When my husband and I were envisioning out wedding, we wanted to have a 3-day weekend wedding in the outdoors. Thankfully, Camp Puh'tok came highly recommended by two friends and when we saw it for the first time, we fell in love. It's extremely popular, so we booked it for more than a year ahead, but that just meant we had more time to save money and plan our weekend wedding festivities. Lindsay and Chris were both amazing to work with. We had about a million questions (more and more as the wedding date was fast approaching), but Lindsay and Chris were quick to respond via email. The camp ground is the perfect setting for a DIY weekend wedding since it's truly a blank slate. They don't have any vendor requirements, which helped us work within our budget. We invited our guests to stay at the cabin, which even in November, everyone was super warm and cozy. We paid extra to have archery and zipline activities the morning of the wedding. The camp staff were friendly and knowledgable and made sure all of our guests (including us) were safe and had a blast! We took advantage of the fire rings and had a huge bonfire Friday and Saturday night, which the camp staff helped supply the wood. We used the council ring with it's built in seating for our ceremony and used the tables and chairs already supplied for our reception and meals throughout the weekend. All and all, we are so impressed with camp puh'tok and cannot recommend it enough. It was truly the perfect location for us and our guests to let go of responsibilities and to relax in the outdoors. If you are looking for a laid-back wedding location that is perfectly nestled in the wood for you to design your DIY wedding, then Camp Puh'Tok is your venue. Over priced, mediocre at best meals, and lack luster activities. There are way better camps that aren't nearly as costly in the area. I thought it would be a fun time, but instead I ended up sitting in the hot sun, doing absolutely nothing over half of the time, while being ostracized by the almost everyone else in my group.

A wonderful camp that has been long established in the community. Great facilities offering lots of activities. New pool, climbing tower and cabins. Im a previous camper, employee and now my children attend camp there. They love it as much as I do!

I loved that my kids were able to go outside in nature with caring and responsible role models. They put space between themselves and their bedrooms and technology. They tried new things that have inspired new interests. They met new friends and found hope.

If you haven't sent your child to this camp, you are missing out. If you child's school has a field trip to the camp, VOLUNTEER! The experience is out of this world (almost literally as the theme is outdoors and no electronics). Walter is a great host. Also, a little off-topic...this site has been famously used in movies and shows. House of Cards recently filmed on site and it was exciting to consider the star power in attendance. Our kids were excited to sneak a peak. Back to the actual camp...we plan to explore summer camp here for our kids, as they will learn wilderness skills that is so lacking in our mainly suburban life.

My 6.5 year old daughter had a great time at Camp Puhtok! She could not wait to go to camp each day and always had interesting things to tell me when I picked her up. She had a wide variety of experiences, and learned many new things. I highly recommend this camp based on her experience.

Went to this one event. The food was absolutely delicious, just wish they had a few more vegetarian options but you definitely can't blame them. There's a lot of bees around there which is a bit alarming but they're pretty much harmless.

This camp has changed my life is so many ways I can t even count. All the counselors are amazing and the fact that most of the them are from out of country is amazing as well because you get a chance to learn about different cultures. I think my favorite part about camp is that friends you can make as well as everyone around you. Another great activity is the Tipi program which I really enjoyed. If your looking for a camp that will have a great impact on you for the rest of your life check this place out!

The grounds are huge. They have cabins, a fort, a swimming pool, an area for tents, a rock climbing wall, a big dining hall, and more. There are beautiful trails for horseback riding and running.

What a great place, my boys went here annually for many years. The experiences have develop them into the fine young men they have become. The camp teaches independence, it helps break the ties to electronics and social media and allows kids to be kids. Give it try, hopefully you will love the experiences like we have.
