I really like this camp. I come back every year. I have only had a few bad times with concealers they stabbed me in the back and they knew the walls were thin but still it made me very upset. The staff in coger lodge are quite rude in the older cabins they are very nice. I love the Ariel park very organized.

I wasn't sure how to rate this camp, so I postponed my review. It's a good camp, but I had an issue with them. I booked my 10 year old son for 2 weeks, but he didn't want to stay for a second week. I understand that I am not eligible for any refund. But I spoke to the director while picking up my son, and he promised to give me at least some credit towards the next year. I was planning to send my younger kid there next year, as well as a couple of their friends. But I did not receive the promised call to discuss the credit, and my message to the director to remind him was seen but he didn't reply. So we are going to another camp next year. In any case, I do not recommend staying there for longer than 1 week, especially for younger kids, because if they are determined not to stay for another week, you will most likely simply lose money.
Ok have to add that I did receive a small credit from the camp, around 10% of the total.
Amazing, well organized camp for children. My 7 year old daughter loved it. Excellent food, modern amenities, clean, excellent medical care team, caring counsellors. My daughter loved the various camp activity's, she was never bored. She loved the fact she could choose her own activity's each day, and she even learned how to horseback ride. She attended two, 1 week sessions throughout the summer. And she is looking forward to going back again next year.
If your child is shy and/or introverted and/or has a special diet, this is probably not the best camp for your child. My 10 year old daughter who is shy and vegetarian did not have a great time. Kids with special diets have to go get their meals in the kitchen (as opposed to the buffet). The problem was that kitchen staff were often too busy to notice my daughter was there to get her meal. This was very stressful to my child. So she subsisted on a green salad for at least half the week. Not one camp counselor noticed this. The response by the camp to my complaint was also less than stellar.
Another thing I didn't like was the fact the camp counselors didn't do very much to get the shy kids engaged with other kids. For the first few days, it seemed like my daughter was really lonely. She figured it out but she shouldn't have had to do that--the camp should have had tons of ice breaker games at the beginning to get the kids warmed to each other. I would say that the camp counselors are not equipped to deal with shy kids.
Straight up, only reason why this is only a 3 star review is because they put fires out at 11:30pm. I wouldn t call myself a night owl but my goodness let the fires burn at least until dawn.
The cell reception was rather poor so I couldn t stream any of the camp classics! No Dirty Dancing or Friday the 13th for me:/ Had to settle for streaming my favourite Disney soundtracks and singing along with my fellow campers.
Also, the chicken caesar wraps for lunch were rather uncamp-like, they really took me out of the experience, would ve happily settled for some sloppy joes and mud pie.
The coed cabins were awesome and so is the UFC pit. Great times to be had in both!
Amazing wedding venue! Congrats Stebe and Caitlin <3
Our 15 year old son went to the LIT this season, and has a life changing experience. Although it is a little pricy it is worth every cent. After doing several other camps, this is the first time he has asked to go back. Amazing activities like water sports, flyboarding, archery, paintball, horse riding and rock climbing and so much more!!
I have been attending Camp Muskoka for 2 years this is my third I loved it so much, I've made many friends and the counselors are amazing (Ember and Valkyrie). I had a lot of fun at the activities, the Ariel Park was well run and epic the horse riding I enjoyed but was not my favorite. Great food, people, accommodations, and overall experience 10/10!
Camp Muskoka is the best. I don t know how there could be any bad reviews about this place. The food was great, the councillors were super friendly, (especially Kelpie) and other reviews saying that camp Muskoka has bugs and things like that are completely false. They do have bugs, but not more than you would find at your own home. There are plenty activities to choose from, and the other campers are super friendly. They have special menus just in case someone has dietary needs/restrictions. Best. Camp. Ever. Definitely coming back this summer!
Great camp grounds where you can stay in tents or cabins with all the facilities service well and in great running order. Lots of fun activities, great buffet hall.
I went on a school trip here and it was pretty gnarly. The Ariel Park was awesome and there was a cool campfire story. There were some lame activities like orienteering (Compass scavenger hunt) The food was yummy but don't eat the mushroom soup. 6 people at my school ate in and barfed a bunch. Also they made us sing before every meal witch was dumb. But good trip. Also I like bacon.
PEOPLE ARE AMAZING THERE!! Food was amazing too! Try the aerial park! It has a zip line at the end! The zip line is the longest over water in Ontario!!!!!!!
Because I've been there on a school field trip. It was amazing the staff that were in charge of us was awesome they also had cool names like Dubbz, Repanzel, Derito and tiki there were awesome and the food was also good the activities were fun too. I had a good time
We had our wedding at Camp Muskoka 10.26.19 and it was the MOST magical weekend we could have EVER imagined! We cannot rave more about how perfect this place is - our wedding coordinators Heather and Marnee were phenomenal and the staff were absolutely amazing and super attentive! The most picturesque space for a wedding and our guests had the BEST time staying all weekend in the cabins. Cannot recommend this place more for a wedding or any event!!!
I had the opportunity to shoot a beautiful rustic wedding at Camp Muskoka and it was perfect - the grounds had so many photo opportunities from the cabins and waterfront to the large deck overlooking the lake. It's not your conventional venue however it was original and memorable for everyone! I highly recommend it.
My son and a friend of his attended the camp this past summer, I will not send them back... It's not a clean environment throughout, and to top it all off they saw rodents in the kitchen area. Not too impressed with the leadership's attitude and response to all of this. Unfortunately it wasn't a an experience worth repeating.
I love going to camp here, I started when I was ten, and I ll be fourteen this year. My school even went for team building, my classmates didn t really like it as much. My first sleep away experience was less than positive. But I adore this camp. The counsellors are amazing, (especially Madra, JetStar, Medved, Smars, and Allegro,) the food is pretty good, and every year I ve come home begging to go back. Would definitely recommend! See you in the summer!
This was an amazing camp. My daughter had so much fun and my son is joining her in 2017. The camp was clean, and well kept. There where so many activities my daughter had so much fun. I recommend going if you enjoy action packed camps. Even if you don't want to be as active there are other activities like the Wellness program, which is when you spend 2 hours a day, basically at a spa.
Three of my children attended last year in 2018, aged 9-13. They reported, lack of food and mediocre care, amenities, and activities. Although, the camp offered many different options, not all were always available. There was follow up call upon arrival home from camp staff which was nice. My children won't be returning here in the future.
My son had the time of his life and can't wait to get back next summer. He loved the food, camp counsellors, games, kayaking, swimming and the friends he made. Bracebridge is a great location with an Algonquin Park camping feel.
Beautiful camp, top class outdoor activities. The lake is a small paradise. All the buildings are nice and well kept and the modern camping set-up is great. Very nice place
My son had a great experience, but the only reason I am rating sub-par is because he is gluten and lactose intolerant and had very little food choice. It was a bit over priced.
Our kids have gone for two seasons now and loved it. 10 and 14. Huge property, great staff and management, and a lovely setting with oodles of activities for the kids.
I went here on my end of year trip when I was in grade.8. (Now in grade 12) At the time, I was being bullied by some girls in my class but this camp really helped me forget about it. The food was good, the beds were comfy, the activites were fun, etc! I really miss this place!! The teachers were a little concerned when one of my classmates fell through the bunk bed to the bottom but we all laughed about it. I personally didn't like the night hike, it was difficult to see and we all tripped over tree stumps.
I was there for 4 days and it was a awesome 4 days. We did a lot of activities and the staff members were really polite and welcoming. The food there was amazing and they always had a differnt variety of food every day. They have wonderful staff members and many activities do to there. I wouldn't mind coming back again next year
I have gone away to school sleep away trips and not having a good experence... but this summer I wanted to go to summer camp and looked online for months untill I found Camp Muskoka. I choose this camp beause of the great reviews, the aerial park, iceburg and water trampoline and it looked awesome !!! I went so excited and not knowing what to expect. I was first greated by happy counsellers who helped check me in and came up to the car to help take my belongings to my cabin. The counsellers of my cabin helped me settle in nicely. I started to make many friends as the day went on. By the end of the week I was great friends with everyone in my cabin. There are so many activies to do but I loved the Arts and crafts, Swimming, Mountain Biking and the aerial park and zipline witch you HAVE to do its so much fun!!! The food was great many choices of food! A few tips... they have this fun thing called out trip where you should bring a backpack for, bring paper and pens and envolpes to send letters. On family day you can come up to Camp Muskoka and enjoy a few hours there witch was great. Ohh and parents you can send your child an email dailey whitch they get after dinner. That always cheered me up getting a email from home. Overall I had such an awesome time and cant wait to come back next year.
If you re a teacher planning a grad trip for elementary students, DO NOT GO HERE. Worst trip i ve ever been on in my life. Rude and unpatient staff that had lots of attitude, bathroom stalls had spiders in it, food was undercooked and many students had nausea the next day, and did not have any good activities. The only activities we did to fill time were field games (octopus), some jumping game, and hiking. The leaders B Rad and Flash were rude to all the students and called one student out and lashed at her for talking when she was not. One of the students couldn t eat some of the food for religious reasons and talked to the staff and instead told her to have salad and it wasn t their issue. Very poor service and very overpriced. Our school was looking forward to that trip, and it was horrible. I will not be returning
I went to Camp Muskoka last year and decided to write a review about it. It is a nice camp, most Staff members are friendly, but the only reason that I would give it a 4 star is because the bathrooms are a just a bit messy and the place could improve some other things . But the activity options are wide and the food is pretty good.
My son and daughter did a week camp here July 9 to 16 2016. My son wore the same clothes all week (including underwear). Did not brush his teeth ( toothpaste still sealed) did not shower (soap sealed). Was severely sun burnt (sun screen sealed). He received no basic care or supervision. When we picked him up we were not asked to sign him out and had to go back at the end of the day to let them know we had him. No alarm was raised he was missing.
The food was mediocre at best. They were not fed properly at breakfast and rationed to one waffle. The quality of the activities was poor and the kids were not engaged and got bored easily. We will not be sending our kids back there. A culture like this will lead to a serious incident or possibly a tragic loss of life if not fixed soon.
The aerial park was very good and very well run. My son and I did it together in the last day. Excellent!
This will be my 3rd year going to Camp Muskoka. I have to say it is my favourite part of the summer every year! The cabins are amazing as well as the food, staff, facilities, and activities! Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is amazing! Can't wait to go again!
