Sweet little spot for the fundraiser function I attended there.
I have been spending long weekends at Camp Brachman, in the Spring, Fall and Winter since 2011 when I joined a Men's Community that utilizes their facilities for our Men's Retreats. I have been there at least twice a year since then and know the camp well at this stage and I have nothing but praise for Camp Brachman!
Because we use the camp in the 'off season' and run our own Men's Weekends there, I can't speak about their Summer camps for kids, but from all the photos I see and any interactions I've had with the camp directors and facilities people the Summer camps should be great.
I can speak about the cabins we stay in, which are very nice for a Summer camp compared to many I've stayed in. I can also endorse their grounds, from the lake and it's canoeing and swimming to the many fire pits and nature filled trails running through the grounds. I have spent many hours wandering all aver the property, which is extensive and well maintained, and can assure you that it is beautiful and well supplied with both flora and fauna for your enjoyment. It isn't uncommon to see a great blue heron wading in the shallows of the lake or find yourself face to face with a doe and her newborn fawn on one of the trails as you walk from the dining hall to your cabin in the Spring.
I have worked in the kitchen at Camp Brachman on a number of occasions now and find it to be a most rewarding experience. Since we run our own weekends we have to do all our own cooking for the many men on the weekends. The kitchen is well supplied with all you need to make great meals for 100 men or more three times a day. Their walk-in cooler is great, the dish washing facilities are top notch and there is plenty of space for 12 men to easily move about the kitchen space without getting in each others way.
The Dining Hall is by far my favorite place to spend time indoors, if you have to that is, as it is filled with years upon years of history. There are all manner of memories, trophies, photos and yearly 'plaques' representing how much fun was had each year by the many kids who attended camp there that year.
The long and short of it is, if you want to experience Summer Camp as it should be, this is the place to do it! See you at Camp Brachman this Fall?
The camp is absolutely beautiful and we had lots of time to explore. I wish the beds were a little more comfortable and less creaky but we had a wonderful weekend.
Love this venue for Midwest Women's Herbal Conference and Mycelium Mysteries Conference.
Was here for the disabled veterans turkey hunt. It was an absolute joy and honor to hunt with you all. The camp and staff are a league apart from others. Thank you so much!
I made a delivery for the first time and I was very impressed with this place as well as the staff.
Such a beautiful place! Made so many great memories here!
